Hey Bedgers....

Welcome to the new season, well almost! Media day came and left for the Blazers. A day that answered some questions and fueled the fire under some players feetzies!

Im going to be discussing my thoughts about the players in no ranking order of importance. Let's begin>>>

Luke Babbitt - Read the stories and saw clips of this guy breakin people off! Is he a Mike Miller in the making? If he can shoot as he did in college; Luke Babbit will be a secret weapon for any team! He is on ours and that makes me biased a bit. I like his numbers and all, but can he adjust to the better defenses in the NBA? Likely, he will be a specialist in dropping bombs! As long as he is not one, I am cool.

Elliot Williams - I would nickname Elliot,  "CASPER". He has been a ghost since before draft day. No words really from his camp. No words really from the Blazers either. We have had some articles to read and video; we have also heard of this kid being able to fly! Personally, I just wanna see him rough it up a bit at the NBA level. His mates have talked about his leaping ability. What else is there? We all wanna know as fans... Can he use these abilities and fine tune them into something of matter? Roy's filler or Miller's? He is a question mark???

Jerryd Bayless - Man if there is a player that needs to shine, it's this cat! Rex is the man with bark and bite! He is really gonna pull through this year, I do believe! Jerryd is too competitive to roll over! Is he good enough? Heck yes! He proved he can play and play well in the league, by what he did in the playoffs. Playoffs is where you earn status and respect around the league. Jerryd Bayless is a legit player in this league now. I would put him in the Nate Robinson/Jarret Jack realm if he gets the right situation. That may not be in Portland though.:( If he can work his D on a consistent basis; Jerryd will be a starter soon, and can work toward the elite status of combo guards.

Dante Cunningham - His talents will grow! His focus is strong! He is HUNGRY! Oh, this guy is a class act too! Some fanatics in LVSL got a jersey from him on a desolate road after a game! He thanked them for their dogged support and left. It was a bad-ass story and Dante gets a rec from this guy for sure!

Jeff Pendergraph - NBADL is where Pendy needs to chill for a bit! He needs to dial it in on his fundamentals. I freakin' like this guy! he bleeds red, black, and white! Keep the hustle up Jeff!

Marcus Camby - It must feel great to be an older vet that still dominates his positions! When we got Marcus, I felt that he could hold it down. He did more than that for this team. He became the team in parts! Give me a season to watch him play as a full Blazer to fully appreciate his game. Andre and him are ex-mates, and that is always a good thing if players are comfortable with each other.

Andre Miller - Our unregistered all-star! It's ok to not be recognized sometimes. It allows for an opportunity to sneak by the rest! He beats up on PG'S. Andre is our PGOTF! He can go another three or four seasons easy! All the guys will be in their primes and I imagine, a Derrick fisher type role for the Andre later! He is roughly the best low post scorer of PG'S. He can crash the paint and Roy can pop the tre all day long. He could use a better shot and spend less time in traffic getting hit and stuff. Andre can make Roy look great I think, better than he is already!

Brandon Roy - Brandon can you please lead your team vocally! Some players need to be yelled at to get it going! It is a fact! You see this at all levels of the game of BB. Andre is a vocal leader! MVP of the team last season(applause). Brandon carries the heart of this franchise. This is a large weight! Maybe someone can step up and help with the load cause Roy's knees are starting to buckle. God bless this guy for leading our club back into the winners circle.

Joel Pryzbilla - You know, I had a feeling that he may be ready to go before Greg would this year! Joel is a SOLDIER! I mean, if he is healthy for the playoffs it would mean the difference in a first or second round exit. He was bangin' with Greg last year as the center duo to fear! Camby and joel will give you 12 20 5 on avg. I can live with Oden out to heal and get adjusted for another year! Remember, Joel is the tough guy on the team. He is crucial to Portland's confidence in, not getting bullied!

Greg Oden - Man, you are a cool bro it seems, and I wish you the best in recovery! If you can't play healthy its cool! Just walk briskly around the court and into the paint to ward off players. Oden at 70%, is still better than some centers in the league. So with that, heal up and work on the fundamentals and footwork GO. I heard Chuck Norris can heal tendons with only a look and a shimmy shake! Hire him bud!

Armon Johnson - I am curious about this guy! Did we get a average player or something more? He seems to want the glory, and will put his guts on the line to get it! He went hard in SL and opened some eyes to the potential that is to be. See, if he develops a better defense than Jerryd, he puts Jerryd in a more expendable area. He looks strong, dresses sharp and professional, carries high confidence in himself, and lastly, he is knowledge hungry! I am gonna say that his chances of playing depend on two things: 1. How Jerryd plays in the first 1/4 of the season. 2. If he blows people out in team practices.

Lamarcus Aldridge - I actually think he is the most important player on the blazers team right now. Aldridge has been dead on consistent. The nay sayer's would see loss last year, but that is because of the demands to learn new and important adjustments to his game and the blazers dire situations. This is a player that's been reliable from day one! Roy=no Batum=no Oden=no! You know he is gonna be an all-star! Period!!!!

Wesley Matthews - He plays as hard as they say! Matthews is a good edition to this team. I really like team players with a defensive minded focus. Cheers to many years of good times...

Patty Mills - Can he be allowed starter minutes in the pre-season? I just gotta see this cat play more ball. He tears it up everywhere else he goes and I read the articles about him not fitting the mold. If he drains the three like he has shown to do, then a specialist job may be in his calling card. Contract pending...

Rudy Fernandez - If the team in his country wants him enough, then they should pay Allen back all salary given, then send him on his way. If you are not happy with a situation then change it right? He should have stayed internal about this situation, and he would have made it easier on himself to get back home. I want him to make a difference here. Roy is right! When Rudy is on, the team is winning!

Nicolas Batum - "The chosen one he is". Block on one end and off to the other for a dizzy dexter in your face! Expect Batum to come ready to play! I simply can't wait to see him block Lebron, Wade, or Bosh! If he can get all three in a game that would be just blissful!

Why do people always compare players to other players of similar skin tone?

I think Luke Babbitt is more of a Rick Fox-Kevin Durant hybrid.

The name's tominhawaii, but everybody calls me LukeBabbittFTW. Any of you guys call me tominhawaii, and I'll kill you. And I don't like nobody replying to my comments. So just keep your meat-hooks off. If I catch any of you guys replying to my comments, I'll kill you. Also, I don't like nobody flagging me. Now, any of you Zachs flag me, and I'll kill you.

Whoa partner...

My bit about Miller and Babbitt being potentially similar, was purely thought of in relation to Millers percentages and Babbitt’s both high numbers, and that in looking at the stats based from NBA.com’s league leaders in 3pt shooting from last year! It had nothing to do with skin pigmentation, or any of that negative thinking! Kyle Korver would be a good filler in comparison to Babbitt too! As in I hope he hits their numbers in the NBA.

With that said, I can see your thought process and reasoning for your comment. It is a Blogger’s world here, so freedom of expression rules deep! Just know that this blogger has no color lines!

Peace and hair grease!

At this time of year

I always measure fan enthusiasm by the number of exclamation points used. Well done sir.

Nah, I’m just joking, but I do like your enthusiasm.

When the world knows Nico Batum as "The Inevitable", I'll be very happy with where he is as a player.

He was until he got his hair cut...

Hard to envision him breakin anybody off without the use of a backhoe…

It's the path to him sticking around here for a bit...

Centers get hurt, it’s a fact of life, like offensive linemen in the NFL. If Pryz can recover from his injury, I wouldn’t bet against him to be the big pony down the home stretch. It’s a coin-toss with Marcus Camby, isn’t it? Does anybody REALLY think that Oden is going to come back and stay healthy to the end of the season?

Then it becomes a math question as to who gets resigned…
