Victory Junk - 9ⁿ26ⁿ2010
So I am padding my stats like crazy!
The daily Junk Drawer (JD) fanpost is the place for true off-topic conversation and people's random thoughts. Its purpose was simple from its infancy; a place where people could come and chat about all of the "whatevers" that didn't fit with the rest of the site and even be loose in terms of byplay and humor. The goal was to foster community...to let people who wanted to get to know each other outside of what they could discern from the strictly basketball posts. We've had happy JD's, sad ones, drawers that looked like a sharing circle, drawers that resembled open mic night at the comedy club... and people have really become a family here.
So if you have a one-off thought, consider posting it here. Everyone else is doing the same, so you will find the JD an eclectic place where you might read something interesting, pointless, profound, or just funny within a few moments. The rules about importance and significance of the topic are suspended in each JD but keep some of these basic rules in mind:
- Be mindful that every image posted slows down the JD, so use discretion in how many you post (you can also link to images you want to share so that they will not overwhelm the JD). When you do post images, put something in the subject line of the comment so that the image can be minimized.
- Ad hominem attacks and swearing will never be tolerated
- Remember everything you write is visible publicly
- Don't use the JD call out or talk about users from other BEdge threads.
As you try and navigate through the junk drawer, remember that you can use 'Z' on your keypad to mark a comment as read and move to the next one and hitting shift-A will mark all comments as read.
This is a picture of my backyard Saturday morning.
This is a picture of that same yard six hours, eight people, clippers, weed wackers, a beast, and a machete later.
I feel like I got in a fight right now; I'm covered in scratches on my arms and legs and feel bruised, but it was victory.
Got any victories to celebrate?
PS I won't make anymore JDs this week, but tblazers will.

That’s a lot of sticker bushes.
I voted for PG and AK.
I thought there was talk of Jake and a JD lady the other day as well. Was that 323?
I used to go by tominhawaii or tih.
It was.
But I’ve decided to throw my support behind a 323 & DtL date.

There's not even anything Rx that would last for the entire race, let alone OTC. Topical numbing creams ( even the really strong RX ones ) like lidocaine only last a little while.

how long does lidocaine last? i just need it for probably the 2nd half the marathon
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
Depends on the brand and the particular method of lidocaine delivery. In general lidocaine lasts around 30 minutes.
A lidocaine patch will generally last as long as the patch is on, but subside around 30 minutes after it is taken off.
I, nor any doctor however would probably advise strongly against taking a strong antisthetic during a race. Lidocaine ( and most of the family of caines ) can have cardiovascular side effects. A marathon is probably the worst time to take a medication that can have cardiovascular side effects.

I wouldn’t run too long distances anymore unless you are very used to it. You can do something like this if possible:
Week 1: 6 miles, rest day, 10 miles, 6 miles with 3-5 short 100-200m sprints afterwards, rest day, 6 miles, rest day
Week 2: Rest day, 7 miles incl. 3 faster runs for about 10 minutes each, rest day, 5-6 miles with short sprints, rest day, rest day, marathon. Definitely take the day before the run off.
Study/know the course.
Don’t take in carbohydrates on the days of the last longer training runs to empty the body storage and teach the body to use its fat reserves (which will happen during the marathon) if you haven’t done so already. But you should re-fill that storage in the last days leading up to the run (there is e.g. a big pasta party on the eve of some marathons, though overeating of course would be bad. Less weight is more).
Drink a lot on the morning before the run until you have to pee, but don’t drink 1 hour before the run (and go to the toilet before ;))
You don’t have to drink a whole lot during the run, rather just use the sponges to press out over your head and drink when you start to feel thirsty (you can stop for that if necessary, drinking while running is not so easy and only experienced marathon runners really know their drink rhythms and know when to drink ahead of time). You can drink something with carbohydrates during the FIRST HALF of the run (it takes 30-60 minutes until the body can use that energy). Conversely it doesn’t make much sense to drink something with caffein or much sugar until about mile 18-20 because you would probably get a boost, run too fast and then tire out. Beginning with mile 15 or so is also about where you should position friends and family to cheer you on. If you don’t reach that area in fairly good condition you’ll have trouble finishing anyway.
You can put a bit of salt into your water in the morning to prevent cramps. The drinks shouldn’t have too much magnesium, that can cause loose stool. It’s possible that you get a light to medium fever during the run, and there was a study during the London marathon that you can do little to cool down again while running and that it doesn’t really affect the performance anyway.
Run rather slow and steady
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
And those last runs should be done in a tempo that fits the one you intend to use, typically a slow one where you could still talk to someone (in theory).
Also drink a lot on the day before the run. Sleep early/well, have everything ready you need for registration and the run. Warm up as usual but take it slow and typically for no more than 30 minutes.
Is it a run where they have “pace makers” for various times? That can help too. If you rather want to run in a group (some danger of falling and injury) is dependent on individual preferences, I know people who can hide and roll along very well in a group and some who become very uneasy especially if the people around them have different strides. Running completely alone is usually deadly for such a long distance.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
thanks Norsk, appreciate the help.
i think i will go with your schedule and tips for sure. makes sense to me.
yeah, i probably look for the 5:30 pace team and piggy back with them. my goal is to be at 5 hours but with my heel not cooperating lately, it will be a challenge.
i have a slight bruise near my heel and ankle…any thoughts on what i should do? i’ve been icing it today after a solid 12 miler.
someone told me to bring Tiger balm for miles 16 and to the finish…it helps the muscle relax…or this could be a cruel joke on me
i hate being unprepared
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
Something like that would maybe increase the blood circulation. But sounds rather like something that would be used for massages later, never used something like that during a run. Maybe if I had a stuffy nose. I would be weary of any allergic or otherwise detrimental reactions to anything that you haven’t tested. And not sure lack of blood circulation is a problem. It’s the lactic acid fermentation when you become anaerobic and the muscles get sore for which there is no solution to decrease that aside from training, and after about 20 miles the problem when the body starts burning itself (fat reserves, other tissue) instead of blood sugars/carbohydrates which is an unusual sensation that can be problematic/painful – and even fully trained pros can’t push that far enough behind for it to not occur during a marathon.
As for the bruise, yeah icing it sounds good. Maybe you can also go to the Blazers and get it taped before long runs to stabilize it ;)

blackberries.... unrequested advice from b4m
now that you’ve cut all those blackberries out, beware, for you have just made them really mad. They will certainly begin growing right back and even more ferociously then ever. I’ve got ‘em at my place and it’s a battle every year.
So before it gets to cold, I’d hit any new shoots that emerge with a hot Crossbow solution. In the Spring when they really start taking off again, nail ’em again… and again… and again.. and you get the picture. Problem is, enough seed at this point has planted itself in the soil and the Crossbow wont effect it, so when it does germinate, be ready.
Also be careful if you burn your pile of cut vines… they’ll go up in an inferno!!

not a bad idea
in that goats will get down and eat the roots too. They often however are more work then they are worth though. They are difficult little critters to keep fenned in, shackled, chained or otherwise incarcerated. And if they do get out, say goodbye to your rosebushes, garden, shrubs, and any other available plant or patio furniture.

But I’m not sure if doing it in the rain would be better or worse. But it makes me think of this song spoof possibility:

Was how much my legs got shredded. Way worse than my arms which were bad enough. Who would have though that stomping into the middle of the hive of blackberries with a machete would do that?

I even capitalized blackberry at first.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
I’ve been digging them up at the roots. Unfortunately, it’s hard to do, and as long as a few make it to seed every year, they come on back. So something stronger may be in order. Either that, or you just have to get out there and do a little clipping/digging every week. That’s not much fun either. Hopefully there’s a “least toxic” pesticide option.
I see a guy on my run who blowtorches the weeds in the sidewalk cracks. Downside: don’t know how it would get down into a root, and oops, burning down the neighborhood.
Maybe get a goat after all.
And I have the issue of a neighbor with a big blackberry bush too.
Which is where mine comes from I suppose. Do you when will they stop growing in the year and when they start back up? Seems like they fall back in November and spring back in April.
Most people who know me or just see that yard start suggesting to me that I should probably just kill everything all the time back there. But in a couple years I’d like for it to be possible to use the yard for something or another, so I’ll probably just have to come up with determination to keep the fight on them.

I think that time frame seems right. I moved into my house in November 2004 and they were pretty “died back” at the time. And April seems reasonable, too. You’re right with a neighbor providing new sources, you probably will need to keep at it. Any individual plant is not hard to dig up, it just adds up over a whole yard.
There was a whole empty of them behind me until this year, so hopefully my fight will be easier going forward, because now there are two houses there instead.

OK guys
Need to choose between starting Santana Moss and Austin Collie for the late game. Thoughts?
I'm so glad the Cheat is not dead
Collie
Peyton will throw for 300+ and 3 TDs with the Broncos top two corners out. It’s just a matter of splitting that between Wayne, Collie and Clark.
Good points
my dilemma comes from the fact that Washington is playing St Louis who has no defense. But I think that game will be decided really early, leaving fewer throwing situations for Washington. Collie it is.
I'm so glad the Cheat is not dead
Also; McNabb is still dealing with a sore ankle and there are concerns he won’t do so well on the road in a less friendly turf.

Dwayne Bowe has like a total of 2 points all season, and Collie has 28. Yet they project Bowe to get twice as many points today.

being a good fantasy option doesn't say whether you're a good player or not.
It means you have opportunity.
If you become a viable option under Bill "I spread everything around like crazy" you can't be completely useless
He had some fumbling issues last year, but aside from that he was very solid in both the real and the fantasy world. He’s just coming back off an injury. I like that pickup for Denver.
I’m more annoyed that I have already seen the same Tebow testimonial 3 times on ESPN America. A player who probably won’t play 3 snaps this game, if any.

I just can't disagree more.
He falls down at first contact more often than not, and he was traded for next to nothing. Yuck.
that's true as well
but I think the most annoying thing is how he’s a big guy, yet can’t make anybody miss or run anybody over.
Yeah I'd have personally rather seen a few pass attemps, with an option to run to the outside
But that should have been at least 3 more points.

Ugh, the Portland Trail Blazers are in trouble this decade.
Then again, I always laugh when people projecct that the Blazers have a good chance of winning a title this decade. Ah, homerism at its worst.
I dunno. I think our chances to win the title are basically contingent on Kobe getting old and Wade and Bosh getting hurt after Kobe gets old.
Yeah, I honestly think the Seattle M's and the Seattle Seahawks have a better chance ...
at winning a title in the next five years. That’s fine by me, too.
The Wolves and Clippers have a better chance to win a title than the Seahawks at the moment

Over the next five years, the Seattle Seahawks have a better shot ...

Basketball is different than football or baseball.
For whatever asinine reason, y’all aren’t taking that fact into account.
It is a star league, kinda like Mechwarrior
but we still don’t know how 3 big egos will play together. We don’t know if Wade will stay healthy. We don’t know if the rest of the roster will play well or just float and overly depend on the big 3. We don’t know how they’ll fare against teams with physical front courts and especially big centers which is a huge problem when the biggest threats to Miami are Orlando, Boston, LA, and, the darkhorse Blazers.
Can I get an Armon?
That is one (entirely depressing) perspective
I’m hoping injuries hit the Heat hard, for the sake of competitiveness in the NBA. With Wade and Bosh there, who knows…..
Definitely possible. Depends on the CBA. If a hard cap is instilled there is a possibility the joke is on them.

After solidifying a roster with three core players, roster construction is pretty easy going forward.

I thinks its more likely a team that is already pretty good adds a couple pieces and wins a title
than it is that a couple of teams that have been perpetually awful turn it around to that degree withing 5 years.
Sure one of those pieces would probably have to be Chris Paul but the point stands.
Yeah I was sure of a title. But now? Now that Iggy might go to the Nuggets? Forget about it. All hope is lost. It's over. Might as well rebuild.

Unfortunately
We’re about to go into the season with a whole lot of talent duplication and no consolidation trade on the horizon.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m psyched to see what this team can do but I just want us to turn some of our young talent and expirings into a high level productive player. Just once for pete’s sake.
I have faith that Cho will. He seems, well, kind of like a jerk. I think he has little attachment to this team and perhaps even wants to move some of them.

I don't think we *need* to trade for a guy to put us over the top
It’s on Oden to stay healthy and improve.
Can I get an Armon?
Oden alone isn't enough
It would take vast improvement from Batum and LA, health for Greg and Brandon and a transformation from Bayless (or rapid improvement from Babbitt or Williams) to make this team legit championship contenders.
nah man nah
Greg Oden as a top 5ish center would be enough, especially in a 2nd season of performing that well. Significant improvement from Batum would be huge as well, but not necessary.
Can I get an Armon?
Heat add a legit center with the MLE nest season
Plus a couple more good veterens title chasing.
We don’t beat them with Greg, Brandon and what we have now IMO.
huh?
IF the MLE is still around, what legit center is available at all let alone for the MLE?
Can I get an Armon?
I don't mean a great player, just someone who can legitimately defend the 5
Chandler, Turiaf, Przy, Dalambert, even Nick Collison would be an upgrade on what they have right now.
All of those guys could be had for around the MLE mark.
I'm in awe the Miami Heat didn't sign Erick Dampier.
Joel Anthony is a fine weakside help defender and shot blocker, but he can’t stop Dwight Howard or Pau Gasol one-on-one. Also, Zydrunas Ilgauskas is a slow-footed, plodding sieve on defense, while Jamaal Magliore is all washed-up. Oh, and last but not least, Dexter Pittman is a fat sloth.
Yeah, Damp last year had better numbers per game than Anthony per 36
And still they paid for Anthony, but were not ready to give Dampier a one or two year minimum deal and waive Magloire. It’s a bit mesmerizing if they think they already are “good enough” in the front court.

Camby would have been perfect for them if we hadn't extended him
Good defensively, great rebounder but plays out to 15-18 feet on offense so the lane is still clear for Wade/LeBron.

My (completely unsarcastic) prediction
Both he and Brandon make the all-star team again. They rediscover that incredible chemistry from a couple of years back. Paul decides he wants to go to Portland. Their GM realises it would be cruel to stop the fans from seeing the spectacle. Cho makes the call, Paul lands in PDX and the champagne flows mere months later.
Oh and Nate is fired for publicly stating that Paul would have to earn the starting gig and play within the system as a Blazer.
And Tony Stark builds Greg Oden a biomechanical lower body.
He goes on to average 20pts, 30rbs, 15blks, 2stl, and 5assists a game over a 20 year career.

Oscar Pistorius is a really interesting case study
Looked at him as part of a paper on enhanced athletes and what is considered fair vs. foul.
Part of the problem with him I think is that if the technology continues to improve and he continues to improve he could be really, really fast. Especially considering his current prosthetics allow him to have strides far longer than able-bodied sprinters.
Not immediately, but I think he or Parker would be the right guys to grow with the core group
Miller is not
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
I would rather have taken a flier on a younger players with range, such as Collison or Conley (still)
In hopes that they could form a decent trio with Batum and Oden once LA and Brandon are on the downside of their careers.
Collison has yet to prove he can be a playoff PG (and a full-season starter), Conley similarly
At some point you have to go with proven players who are still young. If it’s not Paul, those are in the next tier.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
I value playoff experience too (although Harris' was a few years ago now)
But not at the cost of fit. Both Harris and Parker have proven to be poor shooters from range and (in recent years) poor defenders.
If we could get Mav’s era Harris type defense the I’d take him and deal with the shooting issues. Just can’t be sure.
Harris is a better player than both of those, and Parker of course too. Book it.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
I would love to have him as a backup
I’m yet to be convinced he’s a starter on a playoff team, much less on a team making a deep run. And he came into the league fairly old already.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
What makes you say that?
He was efficient offensively, good from distance, distributed the ball well and played good D on quicker PGs (I’ll give you the fact that bigger guards abuse him).
He is a near perfect fit for us with great talent and a good head for the game. I’m guessing thats why we wanted him in the 09 draft.
There’s not yet enough long term data. I liked him coming into the draft for being very NBA ready, but at the same time I don’t think he has that much more upside to grow. He’s 23, has good game speed but is not deceptively quick, and is rather small. I’ve yet to see him play good over long stretches on a team before declaring him a top tier PG. And I’m not sure the Pacers will be good enough for that any time soon.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
With the Pacer deal, its a moot point
I feel like he might not improve much more as a player, but he will adjust to the NBA game more in his 2nd and 3rd years. I wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes a one or two time all star and consistently in the top 10 in APG.
Sure they are better at present
The Harris we have seen the past couple of seasons is not a good fit for the Blazers, neither is Tony Parker. That’s all there is to it.
I value individual quality over fit. BPA. Maybe I'm wrong with that...
but to me a better player finds ways to help a team win better than a guy who fits well. Blake is a good fit for a PG next to Roy, and he’s just not good enough.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
I agree
Blake was only a good fit in terms of his ability to hit the 3 though. Other than that he was sorely lacking.
The argument could be made that Conely is similarly lacking, I just have faith that he has room to grow. I can’t see that argument being made for Collison.
I wish Nate agreed with you.

but I don't see what they have to offer him.
Thanks to Brand, I can’t imagine they’ll have much cap room. So… why are they more attractive than the Nets?
Maybe Comcast can offer his wife a development deal
I dunno. It’s probably just the Nuggies wanting to hear some other offers, and still hoping someone convinces Melo on media day to stay. Though you have to say the offers being discussed are better than what the Cavs got for LeBron or the Raptors for Bosh, so their fans shouldn’t be too pissed if that’s how it ends.

Just a feeling. They don’t want to give him away for nothing, if he bounces back this season.

Well, both sides know a motivated Rudy plays better and has more value
Either on the court, or on the conference call. I expect them to pick the option up too (same for Jerryd and Nic obviously), but it’s not a guarantee.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
That doesn't really make sense
At this point Rudy is a trade piece. He only really has value so long as he is a cheap, above replacement value NBA player.
About the same as last year
and knowing Nate we’ll have a timeshare no matter how well or poor anyone is playing
Can I get an Armon?
We have too many players wanting/deserving minutes
And not enough that demand minutes cos they are just that damn good.
Consolidate already Cho.
consolidating is hard
teams prefer to have really good players to bunches of pretty good players. Which explains why we have the latter. And then some.
Teams like young talent if they are stuck in a rut with high salaried players
Philly is a good example. I fully believe we could get Iggy if we were motivated.
We can't absorb Brand's huge contract, which would be their main motivation to do an Iggy deal
And Iggy is not yet disgruntled with Philly. Right now Turner would probably be easier available than Iggy.
Waiting for next offseason and just signing Butler, Howard or Prince to round out the rotation would also be an option (an underreported story is how many quality UFAs there will be next summer).
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
I totally disagree
If taking on Brand’s contract is a requirement, then you don’t have to give up much talent IMO. OTOH, a straight trade of Iggy for Batum, Bayless/Rudy and Przy gives them talent, salary relief and help at a position of need (center).
No I mean, we literally don't have the contracts to absorb Brand's salary
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
Sure we do
If that link doesn’t work (screwy for me) it was LA, Przy, Miller, Rudy for Iggy, Brand and Holiday
Not enough?
What better offer would they get?
Alternately, I would do LA, Batum and Miller for Iggy, Holiday and Hawes.
the better offer is just keeping him
unless they’re really really just trying to shed salary
Can I get an Armon?
Fair enough
I don’t think he fits with Turner (who is not like Roy cos he can’t hit the 3) and they know it. I think he will be traded before the deadline and I think we have the best pieces outside of Melo to get him.
PA is paying more to Ryan Gomes than to Patty, Jeff, Dante, or Armon. Actually he could afford two Armons for him.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
You and me both
Gomes would have been fine as a stopgap backup 3 and occasional stretch 4 this season. Then we could’ve used the MLE in a less boneheaded way.
I think Matthews will be fine, and so will be his contract after year 1
And recently we didn’t have enough MLE-level contracts for trade purposes, if he doesn’t pan out. I could see some pretty creative lineups with Roy, him and Nic this year.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
Yeah, as KP2 has argued what hurt the Jazz was the up-front cost and not so much the length
So 4 years might have been doable. But oh well, Miller isn’t a better negotiator than KP even if someone in Seattle might think that.
"Listening to the media only increases your odds of failing at whatever you are doing" - Mark Cuban
This is my biggest issue too
Had it been a 3 year, 18 million type deal I would’ve scoffed but not been utterly depressed.
Whether it pans out or not, they took an unnecessary risk giving a rookie a 5 year deal like that. I always think of what someone would have paid Rudy had the situation been the same.

Hypothetically though
Rudy would’ve been paid a lot had he been a free agent following the 08-09 season. That team might’ve regretted it considering his performance since.
He doesn't suck, he is just not worth 33 million
We paid him because he is a ‘lockdown defender’ who can play both the 2 and the 3. Except he is not a lockdown defender and he can’t really play the 2 anywhere but Utah. Oh and he is still undersized for a 3. Basically all of the reasons he went undrafted.
I don't think you're giving him enough credit.
Guys who play defense, shoot, and compete hard are a valuable asset. He is not human garbage.
Sure, he is valuable
He is just not what a lot of people think (a replacement for Rudy as a backup 2 guard) or what it looks like the Blazers believe him to be (a lockdown perimeter defender).
The Utah system makes a lot of players look better than they really are.
I understand that.
Now, he can be our backup 2. Rudy wasn’t able to create for himself at all, similar to Matthews. Wes will be playing with Jerryd, Andre, or Brandon as primary ballhandlers; so, his inability to create isn’t a huge deal. He’ll play 2 on defense and the weakside corner 3 on offense.
Sure
So who is defending the 3 while Matthews is on the floor? Brandon again? Rudy?? Nic isn’t a 2 on offense.
Matthews will play hard and the fans will love him I’m sure, I just think it was a poorly thought out move.
Put it this way
did Rudy play for us? Yes. Wes will play in largely the same role that Rudy did. When you say “Who will defend the 3,” Wes will defend whoever the better wing player is. Particularly with backups, it’s rare that there will be two offensive-minded wings.
I guess it just seems like a situation that we look at on paper and say "WHAT"
but then see other teams and what we’ve done in past seasons and realize it’s not too different.
Agree to disagree! But he’s not human garbage.
I don't think he is human garbage
I promise! I’d probably even like him had he been drafted by us and retained at a decent salary.
We just wildly overpaid for a guy and now we’ll use him in situations he is not suited to because of that.
No stats, no glory

Effective defense would generally mean you hold your opponent to below his normal production
Wes Matthews has a dMult of 1.0, which means his opponents get exactly their normal level of production against him.
His matchups in the playoffs against Kobe and Melo are now the stuff of legend, for no reason whatsoever. They destroyed him.
yeah, he got the rep because Sloan gave him that assignment; unfortunately, as you say, they weren’t really held below their normal production whatsoever.
I think those assignments were more due to necessity than choice
Who else was there to stick on those guys? AK47 could’ve been put on Melo I suppose, but he is not really quick enough to stay with him.
Unlike others, I don’t see being assigned to a guy (even by Jerry Sloan) as some great recommendation of your defense. Its what you do on the court that matters.
Now, consider that he'll be our second defensive wing.
and won’t be drawing the primary assignment. As a second guy to come off the bench, he’s likely a more consistent defender than Martell was last season.
Martell was a good defender of bigger wing players though
Oftentimes better than Batum. I agree that Martell’s issue was consistency, but he is a better player than Matthews and has a definite position.
Most times Matthews is on the floor, Batum will be off the floor, so he will still be drawing primary assignments. Thats what we got him for isn’t it?
He was tasked to guard Melo and Kobe,et all
as a rookie and did a credible job, do you expect him to get lazy now that he has the big bucks?
by southern oregon on Sep 26, 2010 6:06 PM PDT up reply actions
I watched at least a dozen Jazz games and I thought he looked like a player
by southern oregon on Sep 26, 2010 6:12 PM PDT up reply actions
Bryant and Melo destroyed him though
I can understand if you like the guy from what you saw in the regular season, but on the basis of those two series?
Both over 30 ppg on decent efficiency.
so, he held them to right about their averages?
How badly were our wings abused by JRich and Hill? We are being a lot more critical of Wes than we are of Marty.
I don't see how Kobe's series is anywhere near his averages....
Melo scored 3 more points and got 2 more rebounds without seeing his efficiency drop one iota.
I just don’t think that is much of a defensive performance.
As for Martell vs. Phoenix – was he matched up against Richardson or Hill? IIRC it was Bayless and Rudy on Richardson and he rightly abused them. I think Hill was covered by Martell. I suppose he did pretty well too, but 8/8 on .500 shooting is acceptable.
I remember Martell's rotations being awful in the Phoenix series
he was bad, bad.
I think that defense is fairly impossible to evaluate in a vacuum. Look at Rashard Lewis, awful defensively in Seattle, but serviceable next to Dwight Howard. We have a lot better interior defense than Utah did; the Jazz’s problem was really Gasol, and he broke down their defensive scheme.
We’re also assigning a huge amount of importance to a couple of playoff series, when the analysis should be just as focused on the season.
Maybe we should just agree to disagree and see how the season shakes out.
Is Wes Dennis Rodman? No! But he’s going to be content to be a role player and will try hard on defense.
I can agree with your last paragraph, so thats something!
I just question how effective a role player he will be (depending on how he is utilised). I like hustle and everyone loves an underdog story, so I’m gonna hope you are right and it works out great.
it's funny that I'm arguing for him
since I’m not a huge Wes fan.
I just don’t know that his contract really hurts us, and I do think he’ll be fairly effective.
I don't think there are any huge Wes fans
He’s not that exciting a pickup. People either like him or don’t, but I’m not seeing many InWalksWes or WesFTW usernames…..
I would argue the point about Martell playing better against bigger players.
He had the big body to do it, but I dunno.
How do you figure that he’s a better player than Matthews?
Batum will be playing bigger minutes. Matthews will get some time against primary opponents, and he won’t get embarrassed in that time. Primary assignments don’t play the full 48.
I think most GM's would rather have Wes than Martell
but what do I know?
by southern oregon on Sep 26, 2010 6:08 PM PDT up reply actions
I don't understand how Martell being a few inches taller means he has a clear position to defend.
Maybe in theory, but Matthews did play against both 3s and 2s last year. Martell did have issues with the quicker 2s of the league.
Matthews played about 2% of his minutes last year at SF
That just can’t happen here. Sure Matthews will be better against 2’s than Martell, in the same way Martell is better against 3’s. Difference is that Martell plays the same position on boths ends. I think that makes life a lot easier.
where is that data?
If it’s from 82 games, they determine positions based upon height and it’s very inexact.
I think we’re splitting hairs in creating a huge gap between the 2 and 3. Considering the guys Wes will be playing with (mainly ballhandlers) there isn’t much of a difference.
I like having two ballhandlers in the backcourt
Any lineup with Wes that doesn’t include 2 of Roy, Dre and Bayless is pretty deficient IMO. That means Wes is a 3.
I don’t think the 2 and 3 are synonymous just because he will have a ballhandler on the floor with him.
As far as the positional stuff, I got it from 82 games. I’ll disregard it if it is truly based on height but wouldn’t that mean LA played a lot of centre for us last year (next to old man river et al)? It says he only player 8% of available centre minutes. I would love to know how they judge positions though.
it's a very inexact science.
82games’ numbers aren’t that reliable… I think even they admit that.
As for the ballhandling argument, then how did we make an entire season with Steve, Rudy, and Nic as the main cohorts for Brandon? Travis certainly wasn’t a ballhandler. Sure, I’d rather have two ballhandlers, but Nate’s offense really only requires one primary ballhandler.
I understand that there’s a difference between 2 and 3, but I think the margin is much less when looking at the minutes Wes will be playing, mainly in backup situations.
Lets not get into Nate's offense, which seems to fail miserably in the playoffs....
Not that that would have anything to do with having one ballhandler on the floor at a time….
The problem with Nate's offense is its reliance on isolation play.
The flex offense that I would like to install doesn’t require the ballhandling that the high-low zone does.
Wes would be comfortable in the flex!
Which head coaches are out there that would institute that system though?
well, either flex or motion would make ballhandling less important
and Budenholzer of SA would be a great guy to implement a post-oriented motion offense.
With Martell after this many years
what you see is what you get,Wes is 2nd year guy who may well improve
by southern oregon on Sep 26, 2010 6:14 PM PDT up reply actions
yeah
to the extent that Martell was overpaid (somewhat), he was owed 3 less years and 25 mill less than Wesley Mathews.
I'm past the point of caring about that contract.
From all signs, we’re going to spend money in upcoming seasons. We’re going to be over the cap, so it’s just a matter of Paul paying the paycheck. I don’t like Wes much, but whatever.
I think what makes me worry less about it
is that we are now in a different regime, so it is likely not a sign of future bad contracts. It’s also a black mark on Larry’s record, which is nice.

Yeah, though Harden was a so-so pick. They got Sefolosha at good value, grabbed a good opportunity to get Maynor for nothing when the Jazz were desperate, and drafted good otherwise. Also acquired some useless end of bench guys and were maybe not all-in when they could have been, but we’ll see what they do with Green.

Quote from Turkey via A Woj, "I can’t push my loyalty for the Nuggets onto him,"
Or not
WojYahooNBA In Turkey, Billups made it clear staying as hometown Denver favorite in rebuilding mode is unappealing. “I want to be playing for something”
Hasn't been great in the playoffs
But I would trust him to turn that around given what an incredible fit he would be here.
If we get him then I think we are in the WCF this year. Him and one more piece (specifically the one discussed above) and I think we can win it all within 2 years.
I'm not sure anyone will be winning it all besides the Heat

Momo- Dude, what the hell is happening to the NFC East?! can’t believe three of the teams are 1-2 and the Iggles are leading the division at 2-1. If we can’t win the division I’d so rather have you guys than the Iggles or Cowturds
"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
yes and yes. they lost to one of the worst teams in the NFL but I wasn’t able to watch his game so I don’t know how they lost. I think the Giants might have a pretty good chance at ugliest loss of the week.
"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
Chris Johnson is pretty good right?
I was considering low-key following the Titans this year. Now with Vick I’m probably gonna keep an eye on the Eagles.
Good luck to both of you, I would’ve expected both team to be at least 2-1 at this point.
I agree, watched him from his 1st days at Oklahoma
But he hasn’t played a full season since he started college, and the fumbles…
z
The drop-offs are incredible
LT fell off a cliff. That guy who was good for the Seahawks awhile back.
They don’t get to fade out, they just become garbage.
He didn't get unhealthy
He just lucked into one of the best offensive lines in history, and when they started to fall apart he kinda quit
z
He actually did fall apart.
He went to Washington and couldn’t make the team when Seattle dumped him. He didn’t have anything left.
I remember the fans in Seattle booing him as he shied away from contact.
The funniest part was in the playoffs
Seattle was about to lose to Romo and Dallas, and Romo has the infamous botched kick. Seattle’s at their own 1 and need to get some yardage and run out the clock. So they hand it to Shaun after that long season… and he immediately takes it 20 yards on the first carry.
NFL contracts are often only "8 years" in name
there’s only guaranteed money for the first 3-4 years… Haynesworth’s contract is a good example of being a hundred million, but the real value being likely much lower and much shorter.
That's standard for RBs these days
They run their best years on a rookie contract then get paid a bunch of guaranteed money when they’re already over the hill. Larry Johnson is the best example of this. It’s why Chris Johnson holding out and signing a 1 year contract instead of playing out his rookie deal could make huge waves in the future business of the league
z
I'm all for players holding out for more if the teams are able to cut them with little consequence
Employees pushing back is a good thing.
Especially in the NFL
Highest profits, smallest player benefits, most work-related danger. That doesn’t sound the slightest bit fair to me

That Giants loss was pretty bad too, Eli doesn’t look sharp this season. But at least the Titans have some proven talent on both sides of the ball
z
Eli wasn’t even that bad, dude, aside from the left handed toss that he’s getting a lot of crap for. his other pick was his receiver’s fault. And he did a really good job of driving the team down for that left handed INT and for Bradshaw’s fumble at the 4. Our defense has looked terrible and we made a TON of horrible mistakes today. just hideous football.

by southern oregon on Sep 26, 2010 7:55 PM PDT up reply actions
We’re certainly not the toughest division in the NFL anymore. I was pretty excited about the Redskins season until today, we just need more depth. Our starters are decent but we don’t go 2 deep anywhere. And I’d argue our WRS are worse than what McNabb had to carry in Philly. All 4 teams have serious question marks. I don’t think the Eagles can do it for an entire season, and the Cowboys looked better today (barf). Certainly wide open, I think it’ll come down to how we play each other
z
go iggles!
I wasn’t liking vick starting ( I thought highly of kolb, but the old rule applied “if he looks like a wierdo, he probably sucks” or something like that), but after watching what he did today (i know i know the jaquars suck) I’m all excited to see where this all ends up going.

Bill Simmons has helped make me root against all things Boston
That and a Boston fan that used to live here that would always say, “Did you catch that Sox game?” I’d say, “Was it on TV?” And he’d say, “No.”
It seems like Boston fans just expect everyone to jump on their bandwagon and they complain when they do and when they don’t. It annoys me more than annoying Yankee fans.

you gotta get a normal photo of you to carry around (or pin to your costume) and then dress up really old and ugly.

It does make sense
I heard that theory floated before somewhere. Never anything concrete like this though. BRP is the stuff of legend.
So hard to keep my Oden optimism going.
oh…i posted this the other night…didn’t really want to but Cabby asked.
my sources were telling me that the reason Oden was sent back to Indiana because he “tweaked” or “reinjured” his knee…so they told him to leave the team and just get away.
he has a great history of returning on time from an injury…so it doesn’t make sense that he’s not ready for training camp when the recovery time to fully heal is 3-6 months…
so basically, they are saying the Blazer PR is just hiding it and now positioning it as “lowering expectations”
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
He went back to Indiana other summers too
They say Joel might be ready waaaay early but they always be screwy with Oden.
I dunno… I know I don’t wanna believe it, but I’d think it’d get out somehow.
#52
Blazer PR is kinda sleazy…plus they protect their own. if KP and Oden planned for a playoff return..and now he wont’ be back for training camp 5 on 5?
that’s a bit fishy considering his history of healing on time…shoot, he healed on time from micro
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
The playoff return was always pretty unrealistic though
I agree, they’re being shady and weird about Oden… but it has been their status quo with him about everything. They treat him and Joel way differently.
Even if the PR types locked it up, with Oden being Oden, it just seems like it’d get out SOMEHOW if he had actually re-injured himself. There’d be a lot of people involved and knowing about it, after all.
#52
not if he did it while taping those ridiculous episodes around town!!!

I agree
there’s no way any serious injury or reinjury would stay secret. This isn’t the CIA
Can I get an Armon?
I agree too
With Oden… even a tweak gets out.
It is certainly POSSIBLE, but they are weird with Oden no matter what so I don’t know the deal. And I think, while I do not disparage BRP’s sources, by the time they got to the sources then “lots” of people will have heard the news (relatively lots).
And then it gets out.
#52
It's hard to believe so few people would know about it.
I can’t imagine the teammates don’t know, for example. If they did cover this up, we underestimate their ability to prevent leaks.
I also don't think the entire front office is one solid team that would keep this quiet
I think Oden tweaking something is 100% believable, but the front office, non-basketball decision people who work for the team but hear stuff, teammates, friends, family, anything… I don’t think it is realistic that they ALL didn’t mention this.
THAT part I don’t find feasible. Oden having a tweak is the most likely part of this story.
#52
to be honest. i’m not the only one that has heard it. lets just say a few people have and don’t want to report it until the Blazers actually answer their straight forward question
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
hahah are you saying i know them?
no way in heck am i associated with those guys
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
No, haha
I am saying that your sources are not the only people who know this, if it is true, and there would be lots of other people who would be talking.
All of the media people know someone with the team, after all.
I ain’t implying you’d be the bean spiller, just that your sources woulda’ heard it from someone and they heard it from someone… the more people know the more it’s gonna get out.
#52
i don’t think it serious but it was a tweak…enough where his timeline extended another 6 months.
there’s a big difference between returning for the playoffs instead he gets shipped home and it’s 6 months pass the original timetable.
and Rich Cho coming on the radio to say ,“i’m not sure it’s 100% healed” then “retracts” it by saying it is…
fishy
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
I agree
Rebecca Haarlow interviewed him towards the end of the regular season and he sounded as though he’d just had a setback. A week or 2 before there had been reports of him swimming and running and stuff, and then at the game he had a cane and said he was trying to stay off of it for a few more weeks. Combine that with the timetable discrepancy and I think it’s kinda fishy
z
so it was early on when he went to Indiana without any questions asked , not reinjured like last week or something…hhahah hope you guys didn’t get that impression
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
Well, all we can do is hope for the best.

And Jordan before that. And I know he’s on the cutting edge of basketball training, but not if what MB describes is his specialty or not

Methinks this is just gossip
He easily coulda’ twisted it, shoot, anything. He is recovering from an injury after all, and not walking normal, so it’s an awkward thing to get around and anything coulda’ happened.
But I just don’t think it could be kept quiet. They’re as human as we are.
#52
If that is the case
Why has he had a 10 month recover for a 3-6 month injury.
That adds up even less than the whole keeping it quiet thing does.
I think it's not unreasonable to assume they feel the more rest and time to heal, the better
The return for the playoffs was never realistic, and it was disappointing for them to say it and then it not happen.
So they go the other direction, and not say anything more than super vague reports. Which has it’s own negatives as well, and I think it’s worse.
What could possible DOUBLE his recovery time and be kept quiet? I don’t think that is possible.
Being hurt again— very possible. To this extent? I doubt it.
#52
I think BRP has real contacts who work for the Blazers
But I don’t think they are so inside that what they share is super exclusive info. Much more exclusive than we have, sure, but more than a few steps outside of the decision makers. That’s a lot of layers of people to keep quiet.
People have lots of different motives for spilling the beans… out of niceness to share with a friend (like with BRP), to be able to say “I told you so”, to get attention, out of anger “CONSARNIT he’s hurt again”… I reeeeeaaaaallllly don’t think it’d be kept quiet, not with someone like Oden.
#52
If it happened on one of those promotional things like BRP is implying
Then there is a very good reason to keep it quiet. Adding fuel to the fire – the on the go with G.O. things came to a very abrupt halt when there were still supposed to be more to come.
I’m depressed now. See y’all in a bit
Dude, I think BRP was joking about that
In fact, I know he was joking.
And that would totally get out, doing something out in the public. It ain’t like it’s two people who makes those.
So he was out in the rain, slipped, and everyone just looked the other way? Oden kinda stands out.
#52
I don't think that you're giving human beings enough credit ...
when it comes to hiding things and not divulging information to one another. When it matters to them, people can be secretive.
Greg reinjuring makes sense
Taken too long and been too much spin for it just to be a normal recovery. The Blazers are a lot less interesting so far in the Cho era – less being leaked, less interesting interviews etc. Maybe that’s a good thing but it sucks as a fan who just wants news of what really going on.
He will not be happy if that is the case
Heck, I’d be sad about it too. Przy is a pretty damn good backup centre and could’ve been perfect here over the next 3-4 years had he not gotten that injury.
it’s a really bad limp. he was at Cali Pizza Kitchen in Bridgeport and i probably could walk faster backward on my hands and have less of a limp
I’d meet BRP at the airport, not flee!! - fanfaraway
Oh wow
He was talking about opening night a couple of weeks back. Sounds more likely he won’t be back till next year.

adding depth doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem.
It’s good roster construction.

Maybe he just stood up and had a dead leg
Just a pinched nerve, he shook it off. He’ll be ready by Opening Day, why wouldn’t he?!?!
#52
4 legit centres is a bit more than good roster construction
If we sign him, surely that means we think Przy is either gonna take longer to come back or will only be a shadow of his former self when he does.
Pendergraph is a good 13th man type.
He doesn’t command a lot of minutes but is a good guy to bring in for a hard foul or two.
He definitely has a place in this league.
If Etan Thomas gets work in his early-’30s, then so should Jeff Pendergraph down the line.
All 3 of our centers have fair-sized injury histories
Dampier does not. It wouldn’t make me worry nearly as much as counting on Greg to play 75 games
z
That would be great
3 real centers who can start? That is real depth.
4 if we got Joel. That’d be crazy. I don’t see Dampier signing with us because of that… he won’t play much over Oden and Camby.
#52
With Joel Przybilla on his last legs and Greg Oden a question mark concerning health, he'd be in ...
line for playing time.
I'mma' hoping for the best re: Oden
And I definitely wouldn’t mind a 3rd real live center.
But if things go decently, he really wouldn’t play much, plus we’re a non-contender. We should be good, but… I dunno. Might just be using our availability and willingness to spend to drive up any other offers. Not that we can pay more than the BAE, right?
Why can’t Dampier make more than that? That seems strange.
#52
I think its more that he wants to go to teams that are competing
Who, because of that fact, don’t have any real cap space. OKC would be the exception I suppose.
Plus, chances are pretty slim that a 36 year old Marcus Camby makes it through the season unscathed.
Oden and Camby will likely miss games for a variety of reasons, yurp.
That’s why I’d love a 3rd string center who can start and not embarrass himself.
#52
With what BRP is saying about Przy
I’ve gone from confused to hopeful about Dampier signing here.
Plus it means we’d have too many players on the roster. Big consolidation trade. Please.
I'd be very okay with signing Dampier then using Joel's contract as part of a consolidation trade
and if he’s really that bad injury wise insurance might pick up some of the contract and make it an even more valuable trade chip.
Can I get an Armon?
Makes it easier
Most of the guys we were getting offered for RLEC were super overpaid, as either it was so bad teams wanted to trade them in a straight up dump, or we’d be acquiring a near-max contract if we packaged anything with Raef. Now we can take Joel’s contract and package it with some of our cheap young assets to get a player with a reasonable price tag
z
I just don't think the comparison is fair.
by Cablinasian on Sep 26, 2010 11:42 PM PDT up reply actions

I had a long talk with my brother earlier today that has me considering how sex messes with the modern human brain.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
Have you perchance ever read Mind Parasites by Colin Wilson?
I suspect that our basic sexual urges are used against us to inhibit enlightenment or even happiness.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
I haven’t, but I am not at all surprised by that conclusion.
heeeyyyyyyy so dnrkhgu gotta go pl hdei and skeieek
Yeah, it has some obviousness to it that I have considered before in life.
It just never occurred to me to combine this thought with the restrictions various world’s religions will place on sexual relationships, let alone actually let it affect my behavior.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
Or realize the weakness in another, my brother in this situation, in regards to this.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?

the most common treatment is time, water, aggressive pain medication regimens, and rest.
For some types of stones they have ultrasound treatment they can do to try and break them up with soundwaves while they are still in your bladder. for the real nasty ones ( and these are uncommon ) they have to do surgery to remove them.

Yup, the EMT-P
Seems a number of people jump from EMT to nursing and visa versa. I’ve met way too many of both and not just because of work.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
I had kidney stones and my wife had gallstones.
The doctors said the pains are very comparable. Kidney stones get more painful when they are bigger and take longer to break up; kidney stones when they begin to cause infections and/or block blie ducts.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
In 10 years as a paramedic, the most pain I have seen people in was from
1. shoulder dislocation ( some of them, I understand they get less painful the more times the shoulder dislocates ) -nothing else even comes close to these people. the slightest touch or movement causes them to scream in agony. sometimes it takes obscene amounts of medication and hours to get them to the hospital because it is so painful.
2. child birth – duh
3. kidney stones – these people are commonly drenched in sweat, with heart rates in the 140’s to 150’s from the pain.

yeah, I’m always super sweaty from them. the thing that really pissed me off about the first one was that we raced to Providence and I sat there sweating, shaking and almost puking blood for 3 hours before they did anything. and since i didn’t know what it was at the time after the pain went away for a little while (as kidney stones tend to do, since the pain comes and goes as the stone moves) we left. we were 2 minutes from home when the pain shot back worse than ever. we turned right back around and they actually bothered to pay attention this time. I was pissed.

Yeah Providence tends to be one of the busier ED's.
It sucks, I’ve been there, but they have to prioritize you into a group. Abdominal pain patients are less urgent than chest pain, shortness of breath, and other life-threatening emergencies, as abd pain is rarely life-threatening.

dude the waiting room was empty and it was like 130am on a tuesday(or thursday, some midweek day though). But yeah, I get that they have to prioritize. maybe all the beds were full or something. It was just super lame to wait that long when I was dealing with the most excruciating pain of my life. the doctor who finally helped me told me to tell them that I get them if it ever happens again and they’ll prioritize it a bit more.

Yeah this is true. When you know you get kidney stones people take you a little more seriously.
the other problem is that there are a lot of drug seekers that fake abd pain, so some providers tend to think everyone complaining of it are just fishing for drugs.

Oh yeah
I could totally live a double life with Mortimer as tominhawaii and as LukeBabbittFTW with you. No one would notice.

I wanted to give you one!
But your distance made it tough to consider you and someone else here a good potential unless there’s some unknown possibility between you and med. Also, LukeBabbittFTW is not free.
I was going to include you and Mort if I didn’t think he really wanted to be with Tom.
Is life not a hundred times too short for us to stifle ourselves?
Don’t mind me, those of you vying for last. I just wanted to post something meaningless without interrupting the football junk. Decided to put this here because it’s called Victory Junk and I’m rooting for a Ducks victory.
almost
Well, I've wrestled with reality for 28 years and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it.

Do I get a rec for saying “victory is mine?”
VICTORY IS MINE.

Obviamente…
Question out of curiosity, what’s so special about getting last that you (and others) are competing for it?
I have no idea
I never really try for real. I usually just say it a few days after it’s been posted and idol and IWR continue on for a month.
Question out of curiosity, why are you in this JD?
Smh…if you can’t sustain the effort how is victory ever going to be yours?
I’m taking a break from what I’m was doing and wanted to post randomly in an old junk rather than jump into the football thingymajjig.
That's why I said it.
I know it will never be the last comment but it goes with the theme of the junk!
I have had a few lasts in my bedge lifetime, but only cause Idol let me have it.

Oh…haha. I guess that is the theme.
ANYwhos, what’s a girl like you doin’ all by yourself in a place like this?
Just kidding, I’m no jerk.
Imagine me taking notes right now: “Never…mention…Debbie…around….Roybot.”
Are you in today’s junk also, or is the football stuff too much?
It's about time you learn, jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.
Never lose that cribsheet.
Today’s just is way lame, I didn’t read 95% of the comments. Waaaaaaaaay too much football, but it’s ok cause I was able to get homework done.
Mwuhahaha
Maybe. I am frolicking in an old junk while going through a bunch of flashcards in Chinese.
And you used the word frolicking!
I go through flashcards in Chinese all the time. I know 6 languages.
Hehehe as if you haven’t been copying and pasting. but ya, English is more convenient.
I make it a point not to shave on even numbered days of even numbered months of even numbered years, so I guess you’re right to doubt.
Yes, it was very random
and made me reread the original comment. I thought I was the one losing my mind.
I only lose my mind on even numbered days of odd numbered months of even numbered years, so we’re safe for now.
Ay, when you set it up so obviously of course I’m going to bite. I knew you were expecting that…geeeeeeeezus. Testing again..
I fail on purpose now so that soon you will have lower expectations for me, then outoftheblue, I will show you how absobalutely awesome I am and have you mesmerized.
Sleep.
Random stuff to mention of the day: this girl in the class that I teach? Ya, she likes the Lakers and Justin Bieber. Very unfortunate, led astray at such a young age.
Fix her!
It’s not too late. Introduce her to the Blazers and Nas and she’ll never look back.
Random stuff to mention of the day: I didn’t have to pay 26 bucks to get my jeans hemmed. Suckers.
Alright, maybe such a young age was an exaggeration. She’s 16, too late to fix anything now.
Your randomness supersedes mine. Maybe you’ve also lost your mind.
Got school in the AM. Joi gin, siu jie.
it’s so cute watching Roybot and tblazers post back and forth…..
Well, I've wrestled with reality for 28 years and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it.
Before saying that she sighed; after saying that she added, “I was hoping the next one would be a girl.”
By the whowhatway, victory is yours after all.
