Anyone Know Who Greg Is Working With In Vancouver?
I know the news is a couple days old, but I was just watching Courtside and listening to Rich Cho's interview. I am curious about who the Core Specialist is that they sent Greg up to Vancouver B.C. to see.
I'm interesting in finding more about this specialist and what kind of training methods he uses. Does anyone have any further info on this? Ben? Dave?
Did a Google search and couldn't come up with anything. Thanks for your input guys!

be serious guys
Greg is seeing renown Canadian muscle and tissue specialist Dr Mike Hunt.
It's a team practice.
Mike Hunt works closely together with Yurk Hawk.
Disclaimer: everything I know about basketball I learned on Blazersedge.

F'real? The guy at the Univ. of British Columbia?
Dr. Hunt is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who researches the biomechanics of movement disorders, with an emphasis on knee osteoarthritis. He uses state-of-the-art motion capture and strength assessment equipment to identify changes in key biomechanical variables associated with a given pathology.
so I try to pile on the naughty/goofy name bit
and it turns out there really is a Dr Mike Hunt in Vancouver B.C. who appears to be a very well renowned MD, this is how rumors get started and I am freaking awesome.
That's the most amazing part
He sounds exactly like the kind of doctor that fans think Greg needs to see. It’s too perfect. I’m waiting for the national press to pick up the story.
this is almost better than me trying to convince people
that play write David Mamet uses the French pronunciation Mam-ay for his last name.
Just think how cool it would be if the Blazers actually hired Mike Hunt
Greg would get the type of help he’s been needing, and we’d get endless opportunities for juvenile humor. That’s what I call a win-win.

This is best thread I've read all day and it's making my tough day very happy.
Thanks you all.
Does he work with Dr. Richard Hertz?
Oh dear lord
Well, Greg Oden is likely on my campus if he’s working with Mike Hunt. Friedman, that building is pretty close to my residence too. I wouldn’t be surprised as there’s quite a lot of rehab and biomechanics research done here. My friend actually is majoring in human kinetics and wants to go into rehab. Maybe he’s been interning on the job to help Greg out and hasn’t told me :-p

Mike Hunt's Clinical Publications
If it’s indeed Mike Hunt, it looks like the Blazers may have found their man for helping Greg get aligned. Take a look at Hunt’s credentials and previous studies he’s been involved in
- Lateral trunk lean explains variation in dynamic knee joint load in patients with medial compartment knee osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis and Cartilage 16:591-599.
- Measures of frontal plane lower limb alignment obtained from static radiographs and dynamic gait analysis. Gait and Posture 27:635-640.
- Toe-out gait in patients with knee osteoarthritis partially transforms external knee adduction moment into flexion moment during walking gait: a tri-planar kinetic mechanism. Journal of Biomechanics 41:276-283.
- Test-retest reliability of the peak knee adduction moment during walking in patients with medial compartment knee osteoarthritis. Arthritis Care and Research 57:1012-1017.
- Radiographic measures of knee alignment in patients with varus gonarthrosis: Effect of weightbearing status and associations with dynamic joint load. American Journal of Sports Medicine 35:65-70.
- Associations among knee adduction moment, frontal plane ground reaction force, and lever arm during walking in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Journal of Biomechanics 39:2213-2220.
- Interlimb asymmetry in individuals with and without an anterior cruciate ligament deficiency during stationary cycling. Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 85:1475-1478.
For GO’s sake I hope this is who we’re talking about here.
