No, this isn't a bash Nate post...
If records I found on the net are correct, Nate’s career coaching record with the Portland Trail Blazers stands at 198-212, 14 games below .500. My question to you is this: when will Nate’s career regular season record with the Blazers be above (not at) .500?
Fabulous prizes awarded for the correct answer and best reason why (I'll at least by you a sody pop...)
The first date that is possible, if they go 15-0 out of the chute, is Fri 11/26 vs NO. I’m a homer, and I’m not even taking that bet. A Christmas gift for Nate might be possible, with a win in Golden State bringing our record to 23-7.
After that follows a very nasty 6-game stretch, so it might not be til near the end of January, perhaps the Sac game on 1/24? (They could be 31-15 there).
How about by Valentines Day? If they beat the T-Wolves that day, they could be 35-20… Will a win against Houston on 3/1 bring Nate to 38-22 on the year? By the end of the long road trip on 3/12, they could be 41-25.
Against the Fakers on 3/20? (Could be 43-27).
They finish with a brutal stretch of 12 games that we’ll be fortunate to go .500 in. But perhaps, by the end of the season? Or maybe next year? (Injuries again give Nate a pass?) Or... never (he’ll be canned before he makes .500)
