Oh how I miss Sabas.

I heard that Sabas and Sheed will fight it out in the ring at the ceremony
The liner of Sheed’s casket is said to be filled with ganga.

Are you serious?
Cheryl Miller was one of the greatest female hoopsters of all time. Misguided fans even used to believe she was good enough to make an NBA roster. Of course, there was no way, but that’s an indication of how dominant Miller was against her female peers. Cheryl Miller could flat play.
Oh, and by Reggie Miller’s own admission, his big sister killed him one on one in their backyard matches well into Reggie’s high school career.
I was born in '52, and I believe in #52. Hang in there, GO.
You too, Przy: everyone knows you're the heart & soul of the Blazers.
Understood. If you're young, you probably only knew Cheryl Miller as a commentator
Now, if I told you Jeff Van Gundy used to throw it down with two hands, hang on the rim, and roar like a wild animal, would you believe that? If so, I’ve got some swampland in Florida to sell you…

Deserving...
I think Sabas was one of the best Centers in Blazers history and one of the best centers ever…PERIOD if you take his whole career. So it’s deserving.
Having said that, was there ever a player with as much fan support, and talent as Sabas that felt like more of a pesonality enigma?
Great player…very hard person to read.
"Mother Nature started this fight, I think it's about time we ended it!"
Man...after seeing that video just makes me wish he was a Blazer
his whole career….can you imagine……. (A Blazer God)? He would have been worth trading half a team just for the entertainment value alone . Glad to see him being recognized by being inducted into the International HOF!
I'll bet he called that bank-3.
Nice hook shot, too. Why does no one shoot hooks anymore?

I still remember how dominant Sabas was vs David Robinson and the US team in the Olympics
Certainly, he was one of the greatest centers in basketball history. Shame he didn’t get to play in the NBA during his prime. But it WAS cool to see him wear a Blazers’ uni during the twilight of his career. Even then, he was a force.

I wrote this comment before watching the linked video
Just as I remembered it: Sabas was WAY to much for poor David Robinson to deal with. Course, in fairness, Sabas was in his prime and Robinson was still in college. Still…

Yeah, that video was from the 1986 FIBA World Championships; thus, David Robinson was just 20 ...
years old at the time, although Arvydas Sabonis was only 21 himself. The big difference, however, was in experience, for Sabonis had been playing at the top level since 1982 — as this was his second FIBA World Championship appearance — and Robinson was a newcomer on the big stage.
I miss his passing skills
While the 3-point shooting was nice, it was his point-guard like passing skills that I miss the most.
Oh yeah, and the wall of blocks. :-)
