This is a ranking of off-season moves
NOT where he thinks the team ranks against other teams as far as overall talent.
"Ain't nothin' in this world for free."
Wait, so he's not saying the Raptors will finish ahead of Orlando?
You must be mistaken, Arby.

the OP seemed to be confused.
Although I do appreciate your sarcasm.

yeah Aldridge is not saying we are a bottom 10 team in the league
they are offseason rankings, and all of the teams that are ranked high are teams that made big free agent signings and such
because the Blazers, for the most part, kept the team the same, I think this rank has a lot to do with the KP-Cho switch

wow
hollinger said we were one of the 5 offseason “winners”
in this situation, hollinger is right
Michael Jordan is the Nicolas Batum of America

Not much thought there
The only real analysis is that we made a pretty decent 16th pick with Babbitt, and that we have the option to trade Andre Miller…
Now I’ll accept that we overpaid for a backup SG, but are you gonna tell me that somehow Phoenix, after letting Amare walk and trading for Hedo, did better? Or OKC which also had an okay draft and traded for…. Daequan Cook? Or Minnesota (KAAAHHHNNN!!!!)?
Whatever…
Holding out for Hedo
Consider this
Phoenix was not resigning Amare, period. He was as good as gone. So basically, they parlayed a departing Amare and Leandro Barbosa into Josh Childress, Hedo Turkoglu, and Hakim Warrick. Considering their limited bargaining chips, I’d say they did pretty well.

Now explain Minny
Just kidding, I completely agree. The Blazers have had turmoil. Sure Matthews is a nice pickup, at a slightly high price, but he seems to fit the system well. But other than that, what has been so positive? KP got fired on draft day (even though he was walking dead for at least 6 months), the assistants got fired, the shooting coach got fired, and we drafted a white guy who couldn’t even make it to the rim, trying to dunk at the rookie shoot.
Witty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game
Often, ratings like this are based highly upon the writer's pre-offseason expectations.
He expected Phoenix to lose Amar’e, so they did well given his low standards.
He didn’t expect us to have giant GM drama, or maybe he expected a Chris Paul trade, so we did nothing exciting.
Meh, it hardly matters. Half the moves of this offseason will be revealed as failures 20 games into the season anyway.
You can measure skill and talent with your eyes, but productivity is shown through statistics.
Good read...
I like this comment about Miami Coach …“Spoelstra, it says here, will get plenty of time to show he can coach the Super Friends. Like one season.” Super Friends; Wait I thought superman was in Orlando.
