C'mon Ben...send in your tape!

Interesting
I wonder what that means for Wheels, Kenny and Jay? I can see Wheels bowing out as he has a “day job”, but I had not heard that he was planning on doing that. For the most part I liked their show, though Jay drove me nuts with his “see no evil” approach to the Blazers.
Interrogation Cop: What are you saying?
Fenster: I said he'll flip you.
Interrogation Cop: He'll what?
Fenster: Flip you. Flip ya for real.

i bet wheels is retiring
and the new person will have kenny and jay as built in sidekicks.
"I told somebody to stop crying," Pendergraph said after the game. "Actually, I told them all to stop crying."
interesting...
I am not sure that Kenny and Jay will be the same without Wheels if this is the case. I think if you are getting rid of 1 you got to get rid of all 3 but maybe it will work out.
Its Craigslist
Even though the post seems put together quite well on craigslist I’m calling it a fake.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit...
You have to pay to posts help wanted ads on Craigslist.
So very unlikely to be a fake.
Perhaps having John Lund on the other day (didn't he start here years ago??) was a tryout of sorts?
Interesting nonetheless…
they should find someone for the 3-6 timeslot too

Seriously.
Canzano talking about himself and Strong talking about soccer for 3 hours. Yuck. I’ve totally quit listening to the BFT.

what? what are you basing this on?
You can measure skill and talent with your eyes, but productivity is shown through statistics.
BTS on Wheels today
Made the announcement that he’s been hired by the Salt Lake City Tribune to cover the Jazz. He’ll be sitting in on Canzano’s show this afternoon or you can listen to Hour 2 at 95TheGame

He announced on Wheels at Work that he's accepted a fulltime beat writer job for the Salt Lake Tribune.
Essentially he’s got the role of Jason Quick for the Jazz. Gets to travel with the team and paid significantly more.
dang that is too bad
the Oregonian should have hired Smith to be the beat writer or something. I hope the Columbian hires a good replacement because Smith is way better than anyone else I can think of that covers the Blazers.
really?

Looks like BTS took over for Ross Siler who recently left as beat reporter at the Tribune.
Siler quit the game to go to law school at UDub.
I can’t imagine a worse person: A jazz AND UDub alum. Gross.
"Ain't nothin' in this world for free."
Good for him and his career.
He is talented and deserving of a full time job with the ability to travel with a team on road trips. But hey, at least he isn’t going to the L*kers…
I will miss his style of journalism though and his occasional appearances on the radio. He is fairly entertaining and knowledgeable of the game.
I wouldn't say he's knowledgeable of the game

No Quick is the Steve Blake of media in Portland
he is starting over a more talented Andre Miller
Not shocking on the Brian SMITH move........
I Guess the Jazz have to stay true to form. Who else are you going hire to work in the state of utah other than a guy who’s last name is SMITH
coincidence ???? I think not Mr. Joseph SMITH
cousins
Mr Brian SMITH Sorry folks had to do it!!!!!
i think the jazz are getting back at us for matthews and millsap
good move for bts though. glad for him, but sorry to see him go.

Congrats to BTS are in order.
He did good work at the Columbian (even though I didn’t always agree with him) and now he’s going to what is probably a higher profile and higher paying job. Good for him.
I think Brian was a restricted free agent. We should get a chance to match. Send Quick to Utah instead.

Dang. I was really starting to enjoy his coverage.
At least it’s not a lateral move. Good for him.
Being a Blazer fan is not exactly healthy.
congrats BTS. I hardly knew thee. I wish you would just take over Quick's job.

I'm thinking it has to do with Wheels wanting to be able to rest a bit.
During the season he isn’t on the show very much anyway, and I’d bet he would like to be able to stay home and chill on the non-game days. I like they show but Jay is just a yes man and Brian’s paycheck comes from the Blazers so they never say anything critical.
They should hire Isaac and Suke.
I’d rather listen to those guys than anybody on that station and 1080 seems like it’s going down the drain as a station. Maybe they can do the 3-6 slot too…

re: Brian T. Smith leaving
What I am supposed to do now that Brian T. Smith (my favorite Trailblazer reporter) is leaving to cover the Jazz and Rudy Fernandez (my favorite Trailblazer) wants out of his contract? I am really sad:(
