Yeah, or just fantasy leaguers speculating

The actual rumor being reported, (by Hoopsworld, I think) simply said that things were heating up with Chi-town. Given that we had been looking for a 1st, I would think we’d be getting either CHI or CHA’s first rounder, not Gibson.

Sam Smith is the source

I don’t think he’s ever been right.

Sam Smith, Dwight Jaynes, Charley Rosen, and Peter Vecsey are all hacks

Quote from the article

“From what I’ve heard it’s in Portland’s hands now for what they want,” writes Sam Smith for Bulls.com

Works for me.

Gibson would be a good backup at the PF position.

1st unit – ’Dre, Roy, Nic, LMA, Oden

2nd unit- Williams, Jerryd, Wesley, Taj, Camby

by beeroy on Jul 31, 2010 1:21 PM PDT reply actions

Just because I keep seeing this everywhere but

Williams is not a PG. Not many people have seen him play, especially not for us and when he has played he’s played at Memphis he’s been a SG. His skill set is of a SG. Why would he be considered a PG over Bayless?

The 2nd Unit would most likely be:
Bayless, Wesley, Dante/Babbit, Taj, Camby/Oden

End of Bench:
Armon/Patty, Williams, Babbit/Dante, Pendergraph, Joel

Tell that to Camby and the the coaching staff.

I’d like him to start to but it’s a matter of if he’s ready. But I did choose to put him ahead of Oden in the 2nd Unit options. “Camby/Oden”

In a heartbeat.....

But why would the bulls want another Korver? And give up a good young active post with the history of injury that Booser has?

by runanjum on Jul 31, 2010 1:30 PM PDT reply actions

korver is a sf

they tried to get redick as the two, so rudy would fill in his spot.

"I told somebody to stop crying," Pendergraph said after the game. "Actually, I told them all to stop crying."

by cornplant on Jul 31, 2010 3:31 PM PDT up reply actions

Magic matched their offer.

They ain’t got Redick

Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!

by HailOden! on Jul 31, 2010 10:41 PM PDT up reply actions

As a back up?

I’d prefer him to be able to finish the easy play. And not have to think about try to assist much. Do I want to see him be able to pass out of doubles? Yes. But I’d hope he wouldn’t have to make the decision.

Hmmmm

Sounds like the same situation he has here. They picked Watson, Brewer, and Kover this summer. Think he would be a bit pinched for time and touches.

Its delightful, its delicious, its delug

by GertJohnnys on Jul 31, 2010 1:48 PM PDT reply actions

he would not be buried behind a top-tier nba player like brandon roy

Remember that the bulls signed jj redick to an offer sheet of over 6 mil per year if I’m not mistaken…they clearly feel that they have the need for a sg

fearless controlled aggression

Yeah, I think they see Korver as 3 pt specialist behind Deng

and Brewer as a defensive specialist off the bench. They still want a real starter at the 2 spot. Rudy’s the best that’s out there at this point.

Love Taj Gibson!

I’d do that trade in a heartbeat!

I bet Cho would do this in a heartbeat.

I love the idea and even posted it in the trade drawer last week

Do what it takes to get Rondo!!!

This is the deal

… that I have been wanting for Rudy all along.

Taj is exactly what we need. Rudy is unhappy, is a defensive liability, and replicates our wealth at guard. This would be a huge deal for Portland.

by jetcity on Jul 31, 2010 3:42 PM PDT reply actions

I knew this wasn't official because we are keeping Rudy.

In Bayless I trust.

above link has a nice video of Rudy at his best.. I did love having active Rudy and will miss his play

Gibson has double double potential in 30 mins a game only

Do it. even though he wont play 30 mins a game its good to have solid talent.

WITH ODEN ON OUR SIDE

by bowdown on Jul 31, 2010 5:24 PM PDT reply actions

love the deal

but I don’t know why Chi would do it both Noah and Boozer have injury issues, and Chi has no other post players on their roster aside from Gibson.

by Biph on Jul 31, 2010 6:35 PM PDT reply actions

This deal would be another foot out the door for Joel.

It means Camby could play less backup PF and therefore can play more backup Center – so Joel is more easily traded.

Love to have Taj Gibson, but I doubt Chicago would give him up

Chicago fans seem love him, and he’s been a lot of help to their weak front court last season. Even with Boozer though, he’d still be valuable to them.

Rudy also wouldn’t get that many minutes over Brewer. The best place for Rudy would be New York, but sadly they don’t have a draft pick to offer us.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

No thank you

Harris only shot 27% from the arc last season. I can’t throw in Rex, too. No deal.

In KP I trusted!

"Rudy would be a nice fit in Chicago's second unit, where he could get the larger role he has been pining for."

I’m pretty sure he already had a pretty nice second unit role at 24 min a game that he wasn’t too happy with.
