Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

This is mildly off-topic as it is not directly Blazer related, but this guy is one of the best sportswriters in the business and he raises an interesting question. How much will the Miami Heat be hated? Will it be a fleeting hate or have staying power? Could it approach our L*kers hate? My initial reaction is I could never hate a team more than the L*kers. Then, I ask myself "what team would you root for in a Lakers-Heat finals?" I start to let L... roll off my tongue and then my head explodes. What teams besides the L*kers and Heat do you hate? I suspect Jazz management thinks it's them. Does anybody out there think, "Well, if the Blazers don't win it this year... I hope the Heat get a trophy for Lebron to put in the Taj Mabron?"

I already hate Miami and they haven't played one game yet...and I can't wait to see them play.

It’s interesting. I think they are going assume the role of official villains of the league. I bet most NBA fans are going to be rooting for this team to lose every night, and probably root for this team to go down in flames.

funny but sad

With the arrival of Lebron James, the Miami Heat rapidly sold out all their season tickets. That turned out to be bad news for the ticket-sales staff, which was fired Friday. In a statement, the Heat confirmed the dismissals Friday afternoon, saying that with an ``exhausted’’ inventory of season-tickets ``we no longer require a season ticket sales team to sell tickets.’’ Stephen Weber, vice president of sales, delivered the news to about 30 ticket sales people Friday morning, according to one of the staffers who asked not to be named because he is seeking another job in sports. I hate the Mavericks

Dirk, Caron Butler, Jason Terry… Don’t want to look at any of their cryin", whinin" mugs!.. But that’s just me…

I’m afraid I will be struck down for saying this but…. When the heat first pulled off this superstar super team crud a L*kers vs. heat final went through my head. The first instinct, of course, would be pull for anybody but the Fakers. After further soul searching I have come to the conclusion that it would be better for the league and for me… if…. The L@kers won… (I know, I know).

I never thought I’d say that… I just hope I don’t lose my BEdge card for this treasonous position.

The Lakers Celtics Finals

had me bleeding green and white. That being said, I think I like Kobe a little better than Lebron now. Maybe I always have. Lebron is such a goof, and Bosh seems like a douche. I’m fine with D Wade, but oh man I hate Lebron. I kind of like Spoelestra though. I’ll watch, but dispassionately. HATE THE HEAT

If you're a Blazer fan, rooting for the Lakers, Heat, or Celtics

is like choosing whether you’d rather eat rat poison or be eaten alive by starving rats.

by MiledAnimal on Jul 31, 2010 10:59 AM PDT reply actions

You only have two choices listed...

maybe the third would be being eaten alive by poisonous starving rats?

I try not to dwell too much in the past, which makes the Heat my most hated team by far. I’m not going to watch any game they play unless it is against the Blazers.

By the same token, I don’t count the Laker championships from before the move as belonging to Laker fans or the current team. When they moved they lost it. Not that that changes my hate much, but Stern changing the rules for Shaq is a bit removed now so that does.

Most hated:
Heat
Celtics
Lakers
The End.

In Bayless I trust.

Yeah, the Heat don’t even factor in. I will enjoy watching the Heat, since it’s basically like rooting for the USA Olympic team. I can’t waste my hate on them, with the L@kers requiring so much of it.

3. Celtics
4. Jazz
5. Thunder

The only reason the Thunder makes the top 5 is because of the way that they’re the media darlings, I just can’t wait for them to fail to live up to expectations and be forgotten as another small market team.

I hope there will never be a Lakers-Heat finals

because the Portland Trail Blazers will be playing in June for years to come.
