Lakers retract offer to Miller
The Lakers have retracted their offer to Free agent Mike Miller after agreeing to terms with Steve Blake. I know I am not the first Blazers fan that has suggested this but for the love of dog go sign Miller to the mid level exception Portland! If the Blazers want to improve shooting and get some more veteran experience that can help them in the playoffs it would seem a no-brainer to sign the guy. Besides Mike Miller looks like the type of guy that would enjoy Portland. 75 Words?

Why does everyone love him so much?
I’m just asking. He seems just alright to me. Just, wow, alot of love for him. It’s cool and all.
I keep asking this question about the Hinrich fanaticism on this site as well
I mean They aren’t bad ball players, but there are any number of guys that do what they do as well as they do it after all.
I actually brought it up to a friend of mine that has been a longer term blazer fan and he told me he thinks some of the Hinrich love comes from him being a white dude. I can’t say for certain it is the basis most people have, but I think there may be a little merit to it even if only on a subconscious level. I mean the Hinrich chatter has gone on for years and years around here, you would think he was at like Robert Horry status as a 6th man 3 point specialist or something.

I didn't know If I felt comfortable suggesting that
but it’s what I was thinking. As you say it may be a subconscious thing. lol.
Hinrich
For me, he is like a coach on the floor, and he fits into either guard spot. He makes your team smarter. He is very close to the PERFECT third guard. Although obviously what a team needs in that third guard role depends on guards one and two. It has nothing to do with being white.
Miller has some of those same positive attributes… High BBIQ, can play multiple positions (SG/SF), willing to come off the bench, focus on TEAM not SELF… But all in all, I think much of the love for Miller is because… He’s available and realistic.
Likewise, I think much of the Hinrich love last year was based on a trade rumor. So he was available and realistic. Portland fans will often start looking at a player that MIGHT be coming here, then realize what a positive that player could be. The result, a love-fest. :)

Because they haven't watched Mike Miller play in the last two seasons.

There've been CNN/SI stories each of the last two seasons about how disapointing Mike Miller is
both with Minnesota and Washington. He has skills, but he seems to have a developed a mental block about shooting the 3.

I haven't read those, but I don't doubt it.
He’s become a pretty craptastic player. Not that he was ever the greatest, but he at least used to be a pretty lethal offensive threat and a good second option on offense. Now he seems to think himself as a playmaker and rebounder and passes up open shots in favor of teammates who can’t score. Damndest thing.

Signming Miller would be like buying a case of 2 buck Chuck.
You think, “Man, I can’t believe the deal I got on this wine!” But then you drink it and it’s just so so. Miller was good like 5 years ago. Now he’s just so so.
I’d rather look at Wes Matthews a little more to screw with Utah. Front load that sucker again.

I'd rather have Matthews also.
I wonder if the Blazers will offer him a contract?

It’s in either the eastern European or Hungarian section depending on which store you go to and how big there wine selection is, and the bottle label looks like and is only a buck fifty more than chuck…

It’s like a dollar in Budapest, its there cheap table wine but still quite good…occasionally they have its tastier, but a couple bucks more brother which is another “bull’s blood” recipe, this wine is really tasty…

good stuff…

It's going to be fun watching NY, after they realize they're not getting LeBron
They’re going to be spending Cadillac money on Yugos.
Still on the Rex bandwagon.
Blake, Miller, Hinrich, Reddick
those are bona fide ballers. Each is welcome in the NBA and it’s natural they’d be welcome on the Blazers. But for my eye you get much more value for your MLE if you can get Ray Felton. He doesn’t exceed those other guys in any single category. They shoot, defend, free throw, assists to TO’s, as a group all better than Ray; but the sum of his parts is better than any of them. He’s a superior NBA player to each of them and I think it’s because he’s simply a better athlete with the same tool set. Get Ray.
