LMA Bio
I found this, looking for some of LMA's college stats. It's pretty long, but it's an interesting read, some stuff I'd never read. High school battles between he and Bosh, stuff like that.

The anti-LMA group are going to rip this article.

LaMarcus' website and official Facebook
were deleted recently. Don’t know why.

If LA's past is even somewhat indicative of his future....
the league better watch out (especially Bosh!)
LMA use to be agressive enough to get fouls when blocking shots?
I wish he would try to block more shots these days, I’ve rarely seen him in any foul trouble.
He has the athletic ability. And those long arms!
Get up there and challenge those shots big guy!!
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

I really like LaMarcus
I believe LaMarcus will be one of the best power forwards in the league within a couple years. In fact, I even think he would have been up there this season had he not been forced to play out of position at center for most of the season.
I think we could use upgrades at a couple positions on this team. However, power forward is not one of them (in my opinion).
Nothing like a good fluff piece
After the season he joined Team USA for the Junior World Championships in Douai, France.
Been there, done that
Coach McMillan encouraged this dynamic. In fact, that when the 2008–09 season began, he opted to bring Oden off the bench. McMillan didn’t want LaMarcus to think he had been demoted to "third banana." The gamble paid off. LaMarcus became the leader of the front line, helping Oden and rookie Nicolas Batum understand the Portland system and acclimate themselves to the NBA.
Hoo-boy, the writer is laying it on a little thick, here
This was the final building block in LaMarcus’s credibility as a bona fide team leader and franchise building block. Indeed, younger players often sought him out for advice instead of the coaches.
LMA is the next Monty Williams?
Who the Blazers keep and who they jettison could be the key to a long-awaited return to the NBA Finals. LaMarcus wants to be one of those who stays.
Show me something, big guy.
LaMarcus is a smart player. He understands the game as well and as deeply as any player his age. He is often an extra coach on the court for the Blazers. In between games, he can break down footage as well as many NBA scouts.
LMA and Andre, sitting shoulder to shoulder in the video room with Mike and Chad
LaMarcus can hit outside jumpers and is getting better at bulling his way to the basket.
Psst! LMA wears uniform #12, not #52.
Look, I understand that bios like these tend to paint the player in the best possible light. I still believe LMA can be a solid complementary PF to Oden for years to come. He’s going to have to get used to the idea of shooting less and concentrating on other areas of his game, though—like defense, rebounding and high-post entry passing. If LMA has half the BBIQ that this article claims he does, his transition to “3rd banana” should be a snap
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
Chris Bosh never played on a team with Brandon Roy
If Aldridge was on a team where he was the first option I wonder what his stats would look like. If he rebounded more and blocked more shots but scored fewer points would the haters be happy. When healthy the Blazers have a lot of talent. Aldridges improvement needs to come in the area of team play. Don’t think we will ever see much increase on the stat page.

I would be ecstatic
if LA scored less, rebounded more & defended better. Absolutely ecstatic. It would bring us closer to the championship much quicker.
Silent Swagger.
For all the Bosh/LMA comparisons we throw around...
…it’s interesting how connected these guys have been since high school. I never knew that.
they work out together during the offseaon
as well as current and former Longhorn ballers

I've never seen someone who averages
18 & 8 get hated on so much. Did someone say they wanted to see him in more foul trouble???
He’s the perfect power forward to play along side Greg. He took the most shots on the team last year and he still hit at 50%! LaMarcus is a top 10 PF in the league.

4 free throws attempted per game
When you’re the primary low-post scorer for the majority of the year, that’s simply not getting it done. I don’t see how any player can be a top-10 PF if he only averages 4 FTs per game. Top 10 stretch 4 maybe, but his shooting percentage dips into the low 40s when he shoots from 15+ feet away
I agree that he’ll look better playing alongside Oden, mostly because Greg will mask LMA’s weaknesses (especially on the defensive end)

yeah, but maybe he needs to get stronger. These guys take a beating in the low post, and it can take a toll on
any player. Call Lamarcus soft, but it hurts to get a forearm in the back every time you try to score.
LaMarcus is a hard worker, and I appreciate that. He’s actually been our most reliable player. He bounces back quickly from injury, runs the floor better than any big in the league, and is solid. Roy and Oden have missed significant time, but Aldridge has been there.

I dont know about the stronger part
Im sure he puts a lot of work in the weight room. He already looks really ripped. His body is just really slim. He is an extreme ectomorph and its really hard to put on muscle and then keep it on on with that body type. And it is not like he is really light currently anyways. He is listed at 245lbs. Marcus camby is listed at 235lbs.
WITH ODEN ON OUR SIDE
Only 13 players scored at least 17.9 pts and got 8.0 rebounds last year.
Those players included Centers:
Dwight Howard
Brook Lopez
Chris Kaman
David Lee (You could argue he’s more of a PF, but would you want him as an LMA replacement?)
PF/SF’s
Gerald Wallace
Antawn Jamison
PF’s
Tim Duncan
Pau Gasol
Amare
Bosh
Boozer
Zach
LMA
LMA is in pretty good company.

he's good enough to still have trade value
but unless he steps his game up re: defense, rebounding and passing LMA scoring stats should take a dip (fewer touches) just as his salary is rising to near-max
there’s a WARP collision coming, unless he steps his game up in those “other” areas

It's because we all know he can average 20 and 10
I love B Edge almost as much as I love B Roy and close to my love for B atum
