Purportedly, he is the one Vulcan that knew his anterior from his posterior...
"A bizarre and extremely rare hybrid Blazer/Laker fan, Timbo has always struggled to contain the Beast Within, like Dr. Jekyll, Bruce Banner, or Ted Kennedy." — Miled Animal
Yea, this is actually a bad thing
Leiweke was supposed to be the only thing keeping Vulcan in check.

Now they will use Logic and Business sense to DESTROY THE WORLD!
they must be stopped…Oden kind of looks like a Klingon, he needs to bust out his knife and go to work…

Sit Down for a minute Oden so we can talk about your extension
You’ll have to talk with my successor. I’ve decided to give my life to hockey since my job destroying KP is complete…

I don't know if this is good, or not...
Never met the guy and know nothing about him. If he has such influence on PA, and if “hockey is his first love”, I just wish he’d talked PA into bringing the Penguins or another NHL team to PDX.
From listening and reading
I believe Leiweke was about the only intelligent at Vulcan, if that is true, this is not good news.
Ben II Blazersedge.com || New to Blazers' Edge?
didn't know they had intelligent people at Vulcan
if this is true, it’s definitely not good news…
right
and this is impressive:
Under Leiweke’s leadership, the three franchises have combined for 201 consecutive sold-out home games.
As much as we bash the Vulcans, this sort of record does not happen by accident.
"Oh Yeah!" ~ Kool Aid Man
Tod Leiweke is an accomplished sports executive, although his time in Vacouver was a failure.
Yet, Leiweke done well in Minnesota with hockey, Houston with basketball, Oakland with basketball, and even during stints on the PGA Tour.
At any rate, though, let’s hope that Paul Allen, his sister Jody Patton, Bert Kolde, and co. who run the show at Vulcan, Inc. find a hard-working sports executive with a solid track record to be the next CEO of Vulcan Sports & Entertainment.
maybe that's where KP steps in..
bahaha…or legarie..bleh

Well, Kevin Prtichard isn't a business mind; that's not his forte whatsoever.
For the position of CEO of Vulcan Sports & Entertainment, I’d target Rick Welts.
http://www.nba.com/suns/news/bio_welts.html
Now, if Paul Allen is looking to promote someone from within who’s got ties to Tod Leiweke, then John Rizzardini will likely be the guy. Rizzardini, however, has been a Leiweke toadie for a long, long time, so he may follow him to Tampa Bay, FL.

Lance Lopes is another possible inside hire, even though his background is a mixture of law and football; thus, I’m not too sure if he’s got the business administration chops to be a CEO.

Oh well, this should be an interesting process—no matter the outcome.
very interesting.

So
The real question on everyone’s mind is: Does this help or hurt our chances at Chris Paul?

Clearly
Leiweke was the last thing standing in the way of a CP3 deal. Consider it done now.
that and the entire New Orleans Basketball organization and community and now Chris Paul himself

How did PA get away with naming his company "Vulcan"?
What—it’s not copyrighted?
If he would have tried to name it “Jedi”, “Ewok”, or “The Trade Federation” Lucas and his attornies would have been ALL over that.

Well Vulcan was an existing term before
vulcanized rubber that sort of thing so the legal grounds would be a little slpperier…
Besides Roddenberry was a bit of an idealist, probably did not copyright each term in his universe like the shrewd Lucas did.

so yes – it is a term that cannot be copyrighted…

Canazano's Article will say....
Leiweke leaving the Vulcan’s is a seriously bad sign for this organization. He’s the only person there who knows how to run a sports organization. Him leaving is an ominous sign for any sports team under the Vulcan empire.
Leiweke left for a reason…

Here's my suggestion for the new CEO of Vulcan Sports & Entertainment: Rick Welts.
http://www.nba.com/suns/news/bio_welts.html
Knowing Paul Allen’s love of native Seattleites, Welts would seemingly be the perfect fit here.
