Had we taken Durant...

And everything played out the same to date otherwise (he became the same player he has been on OKC), would you have been willing to swap Roy for CP3 straight up? Just curious... PS: I wish I could work in a AWoj rumor to join together the triumvirate of BlazersEdge hated topics ;)

Interesting reaction, and I appreciate it.

But I guess it takes a lot to get me riled up these days. I would have been okay with trading Durant for Paul.

Interesting reaction.

I didn’t know you felt that way about things. You probably ought to share your ideas with more people.

oden would've been the next wilt

durant would’ve been just another skinny smallforward draft bust had the blazers drafted him.

it’s just the way the world works.

Dude, it's PDX. Had Oden went to Boston he'd

be a 3 time All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year thus far. In Portland, we do things the hard way.

Treat people well because Karma can hit you at any second.

Yeah...

…and if we’d have taken Jordan instead of Bowie I’d have traded Clyde for Olajuwan…
…and if we’d have kept Moses Malone I would have traded Walton for Dr. J….
…and if raindrops were lollipops…

Whatta goofy post!..

We didn’t… we shouldn’t have… and I wouldn’t trade Brandon for anybody because he’s the heart of a team that has grown from thugs to solid citizens that I’m proud to support.

We should have also traded for Kobe, LeBron and Wade...

Can you imagine if each one of them put up the same numbers they did last year, we’d be scoring 200 points every game? ;-)))
People have to realize that Durant would never be NBA top scorer had he played in Portland with Aldridge and Roy. Never. And if he gives you 20/5/3 each game – remember: playing (=sharing ball) with BRoy and LMA, how much is it better than 14 / 10 / 3blks Oden gives you. And who would play defense then? With no Oden and Batum playing 5mpg behind Durant (Nic would mean to Blazers just as much as Morrison means to the L#kers, only he wouldn’t be recognized anywhere, except PDX and France)?

Maybe Durant is better player than Oden, maybe he’s much better, but he can be that good, because he’s the only star on OKC team, in PDX he would be one of three (I don’t want to say he’d be option #1, 2 or 3 – it’s just complex problem).

In 2007 I wanted Blazers to draft Durant, not Oden, but from the draft day I started to realize that having Roy and LMA already on the team, selecting Oden was no brainer. And I’m happy KP/PA (whoever made this decision) did what he did.

yes. CP3 is much better than Roy.

by jksnake99 on Jul 23, 2010 8:56 AM PDT reply actions

I'd trade Roy for CP3 now

without being in some alternate universe. Because CP3 is the better player.

by howlingfantods on Jul 23, 2010 11:43 AM PDT reply actions

I wouldn't the team would lose in the 2nd round Or conference finals the next two years then

CP3 would jet to Knicks for better recognition more fame
