Assuming it takes trading Brandon Roy to get Chris Paul, who would you rather have?
Roy:
Advantages:
- Is a Northwest guy
- According to Kobe's inflated praise, has no weaknesses on offense. However, Kobe's statement is probably pretty close to the truth.
- Is a role model on and off the court. Do we need to be reminded of his media award and great personality the fans have come to love?
- Is darn clutch.
Disadvantages:
- Is not the best fit for this team. Right now, a more up-tempo scheme is perfect for the team, but Roy slows them dow.n.
- Not the best defender.
- Passively seduces Nate to run iso plays off of him.
- Prone to injury.
Paul:
Advantages:
- Can be a great fit for this team. Can you imagine the amount of alley-oops LMA and Oden would be slamming down every night?
- Is, well, CP3: a top 3 PG in the league.
- Would probably turn us into a title contender much sooner.
Disadvantages:
- Is from a state way over there. North Carolina, or something.
- Is a major whiner.
- Prone to injury.
