Blazers: Luke Babbitt Suffers Achilles Strain, Questionable For Tomorrow
Via text from the Blazers...
----------------------
Portland F Luke Babbitt (rich Achilles strain) is questionable for Tuesday's Summer League game versus New Orleans.
----------------------
Babbitt missed part of today's practice. The standard for missing games at Summer League is relatively low. Darren Collison, Jonas Jerebko, and Brandan Wright have all missed time already for various reasons.

No kidding
As soon as I saw the headline my stomach dropped. What a relief he’s listed as questionable, so it can’t be too bad
Doesn't sound too serious
But it made me laugh.
props to proofptb in the fanshots
In Bayless I trust.

finally
i was getting a bit worried.
"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.
“Hi this is Larry Miller of the Portland Trail Blazers. I would like to order some cotton balls. How many would it take to safely store an object that is about 7 feet long and weighs maybe 270 pounds?”
This is clearly Jay Jensen's fault.
Once again, the leeches caused more problems than they solved.
I H8 TXTSPK
He expects to play tomorrow
no need to get all worked up

Wouldn't be surprise if they keep him out
After chosing to keep out Williams for cautionary purposes, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them keep Babbitt out for the same reason…hoping he’ll play as I’d like to get a better sense of his game.
This is nothing, this is nothing, this is nothing,
I’ll just keep saying that.
It probably IS nothing.
But I was hoping even the “ghost” of the injury curse wouldn’t raise it’s head this off-season. I was willing to ignore the fact that with Elliot Williams we drafted a guy “Pre-Injured” for our convienence…but now our young rookie is already complaining of achilles heel tightness?
I know, injury and strain are part of life in the N.B.A….blah, blah, blah…
Not like The Blazers experience.
Just once I’d like a off-season, pre-season and maybe a regular season where The Merck Manual of Medical Information didn’t become the companion to Blazers press guide.
"Mother Nature started this fight, I think it's about time we ended it!"
