"I want to be traded to a contender" is almost always code-speak for "I'm a loser."

Dear Paul Allen:
If you are reading this, make the trade we all know needs to go down to compete with these guys…
Silent Swagger.
"Miami Thrice" is such a lame nickname.
Thrice is an archaic term for three times, not three people. I know ESPN “writers” were grasping for something that rhymes with “Vice,” put that’s a really big stretch to appeal to the intersection of basketball fans and Don Johnson fans.
i like this
and change their logo to the three faces, with the obama-style colors
Michael Jordan is the Nicolas Batum of America

Ironic
How everyone assumes that Riley and the Owner of the Heat can only spend up to the cap – and must make it do. Given how many teams are over the cap and paying luxury taxes, it goes without saying that Miami can do the same. After all, I’d suggest that there’ll be just a tad more revenue flowing in Miami’s direction – meaning – they can always spend more. I doubt that they’ll have any trouble putting together a suitable supporting cast. Miller, Fisher, Haslem, Cleveland’s center from last year, and many others would like to play on the team.
shaq attack goes back!
he wants another ring. And why not try it with miami? he one once down there already. I dont think he would take the vet min. but it would give him a ring on every finger like kobe lol. I dont see why he would want to go to SA, ATL, DAL. sounds dumb if he wants to go for another ring. He should put out a feeler to Reily
Am I the only person to love Andre Millers Dookie rolls he sported in practice? I say keep it the whole season!

You can only go over the cap by...
Signing players you own the bird rights of or use of exceptions- if I understand it correctly.
Silent Swagger.
You are correct
Also, you only get cap exceptions (BIE and MLE) if you are over the cap. Since the Heat were not over the cap, and decided to sign all but one player (Chalmers) through free-agency, they have to get all their players without going over the cap. Once they max out, though, they can sign the rest of their roster to minimum contracts, so they should be over the cap just a tad next year and can spend the MLE and BIE.
You can also go over the cap via trade, since you can take back 125%, plus $100k, of the salary of the player(s) you send out. But Miami probably won’t be doing any big trades.
i dont see how mr ive never cashed a check from the lakers cannot sign with miami.
way too easy rings and it but him up on kobe again so he can talk more trash and write more songs.
i wonder if miami or teams can include courtside tix as compensation above the cash value of the contract
i know they all get free tix if they want them but 4 courtside season tix would be a nice boost to a min lvl salary
