Michael Beasley for Ryan Gomes

Should the Blazers be interested in trading Ryan Gomes for Michael Beasley? Miami just traded the 17th pick and a decent Daequan Cook for the 32nd pick in Thursdays draft. That is right they traded Down to move a solid player. Seeing as how the Blazers are going to cut Ryan Gomes (as is currently being reported) would it make sense for the Trail Blazers to take a chance on Former number two draft pick Michael Beasley? The guy has some character issues, but nothing too drastic, he has talent, and he could be a great scoring threat down low for the second unit (coupled with M. Camby's D) He has two years left on his contract and Miami can cut Gomes saving them about 9 million total and about 4 million for this off season bonanza. It is a minimal risk high reward situation, the risk being that Beasley does something to embarrass the Blazers franchise. If we really are about winning now, we need some talent like Beasley. Also I would hope the culture is in place / Nate McMillan to keep Beasley in check. If it doesn't work out, he is an expiring contract next year to trade. Just and Idea I am curious what BEdgers think. "That is to put together the best team possible, and sometimes that process requires addition by subtraction. This is just one of many moves we have made to continue to build this team." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2010/news/story?id=5320725
