Arvydas Sabonis. Think about it: Sabonis was frequently injured as a young center, but overcame his physical limitations by playing fundamental, sound basketball. He didn't dominate opponents by backing them up and throwing them out of the way (i.e., Shaq). Rather he played a finesse game that was less one-on-one, and more about getting his teammates involved. During Sabonis' career, he won several medals (including a gold in '88) and became one of the greatest international players to ever play the game. Oden may never regain the raw athleticism he showed in '07, but he has the potential to develop into a player with basketball smarts. Maybe Arvydas could help a young fella become that kind of player.
