Wojnarowski: Blazers Interested In Mo Williams

80
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports writes that the Blazers are interested in Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams. ---------------------------- Portland is showing strong interest in Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams. The Blazers have been making calls to check on him. ---------------------------- Brian Windhorst, Cavaliers beat writer, tweets that the team was simply "testing the market" for Williams and that there are "no advanced talks" taking place. Williams wouldn't be the worst complement to Brandon Roy, as he's used to playing with a ball-dominating superstar, can hit the open shot and was even gifted with an All Star appearance recently. On the other hand, Williams is gaining a reputation for coming up small in the playoffs. He's set to make 9.3 million next season. And he runs a pit bull kennel named "La Familia Pits.com". As for yesterday's "Chris Paul is receiving offers" report from Yahoo!, here's a strong denial that Paul will be traded from the Hornets beat writer, John Reid. And here's a piece from Mitch Lawrence from the New York Daily News that includes the following denial. --------------- "We are not going to move him," said one team official Monday. "He's our foundation and is not exactly 'touchable.'" --------------- Dwight Jaynes says sources told him the Blazers did make a run at Paul. --------------- It’s considered dead, though, as New Orleans continues to shop him around, trying to see what his value might be. Apparently the Hornets are the ones who backed away from the Portland trade. No surprise. I think it would be ridiculous for New Orleans to deal Paul, by the way. --------------- Thanks to MadBlaze in the FanShots. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
