Ran into Batum yesterday at the Washington Square Mall. I didn't really want to bother him, but I finally I caved in and asked for a photo (he is my favorite Blazer, after all). Super nice guy.

Ha, no, Batum was really cool about it.
He was just waiting at one of those mall kiosks for an Invisishield for his iPad. If he had been walking through the mall or had appeared in the middle of something, I wouldn’t have bothered him.
I was actually kind of surprised how few people acknowledged him. Maybe not everyone in Portland is in love with Batum like most BEdgers are.

He's my favorite blazer right now and I'm no doubt a huge Batum homer
but yeah the Batum chuck norris esque stuff is getting a bit annoying.
It’s all in good fun though.
My friend works at Helzberg at Washington Square
and when Batum was still rehabbing he went to Helzberg and bought a watch and donated 2 Teddy Bears (they were doing a charity donation thing) and she didnt realize who he was until she saw his card and it said Portland Trail Blazers on it. And she has season tickets…
All i want to know is how you dont realize who a really tall man with a french accent is

The fact that he actually put his arm around you shows he's a good guy. Most of these
guys probably wouldn’t make actual contact with most fans asking for an autograph. Then you have Oden who just has a stick up his ass.
