I'm not writing you all about the Blazers today, well, not exactly. Its related to the Blazers Organization. The Portland Parks Foundation is currently up for a $25,000 grant, but it relies on online voting. One thing I know, the Blazersedge community is good at is swaying polls in the right direction. The Blazers have worked with Portland Parks for years through their Making it Better clinics in the parks. This $25,000 grant will enable the Portland Parks Foundation to reach the children in the neediest Portland neighborhoods, by providing these kids with programs that give them food, activity, and a good dose of self esteem. When school is out and school lunches disappear, lots of kids don't know where their next meal will come from. Portland Parks Foundation is finding creative ways to reach these kids who might be too shy to stand in a food line. The Blazers are on the Hunger Task Force in Oregon and are committed to ending childhood hunger by 2015, which is exactly what this grant helps to achieve. Please take a second to vote. All you need to do is click the link and cast your vote before June 20th. The website will then ask you to join their mailing list, but that is not necessary, the vote has been cast. You never know where the next basketball sensation will come from, maybe Portland? Lets give these kids a chance. Thank You & Go Blazers!
