And Italy goes dead quiet
As their team walk to the locker room down 1-0 at half.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
Italy is another team with no ideas in the creative midfield department. And not enough movement.
Need to make some substitutions.
Though Paraguay had no midfield at all and was lucky to make the goal, that’s how soccer sometimes goes.
Italy look terrible
Paraguay is basically conceding the midfield, but Italy is still putting no pressure on them at all. Reminiscent of Japan vs. Cameroon earlier.

If the Big Twelve Conference stays together for the most part and eventually adds TCU and SMU, then ...
I’ll be a happy camper. Unlike some folks, I just never bought into the whole idea of Texas joining a coastal conference like the Pac-10 or the SEC.
can the Pac-10 keep 10 teams? I’m assuming in this scenario that USC drops all sports programs because the AD decides “no one will ever be as good as us” so why bother

Is A & M the new lynchpin?
Seems like the arrangement would be viable if they stick around with all the dough their football program brings. Why they would want to do this while Texas gets special consideration to start their own TV network is beyond me, however.
My guess is that the Big Twelve Conference caves in to Texas' demand of wanting to start its own ...
TV network, which keeps the league together in the midst of apparent turmoil.
If A & M has the choice of starting its own network in the SEC or taking the shaft from Tejas in the Big 12, you think they stick around just for tradition? I suppose its possible.
The SEC, which isn't known for expansion, wouldn't add Texas A&M as a 13th team just for ...
the heck of it. Also, I think if the SEC does expand — which I think is an unlikely proposition — it’ll probably do so by raiding the ACC for Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Miami.
tea leaves, obv
It clearly makes little sense for them to add A & M unprompted, but it might make more sense than any of the ACC schools, which don’t bring much that the conference doesn’t already have.
Ultimately, SEC expansion will likely involve Clemson, Georgia Tech, FSU, and Miami.
In my mind, Texas will only have its own TV network by staying in a desperate Big Twelve Conference that’ll concede such a demand. Additionally, Texas A&M is stuck at the hip — for better or worse, no matter how they like it — with Texas.

Hehe, my last final this year also included a number of “old” material from the first half of the year, and omitted some key concepts from the last few weeks that I had prepared for. Oh well, it still was sufficient for an A- in the class which is what I had planned for.
This was my favourite class
I’ve been killing myself in it this year and I might get my worst grade when I’ve put ten times more work into it than for the other classes. Hopefully I manage an A- but it could be a B :(
This reminds me a story about a professor of International Law in Oviedo.
He didn´t want to give good grades to people who didn´t assist to his classes, even when someone was really really good in the exams. It helped him to punish them that the last exam was an oral one. According to the story, there was a guy, almost a genius, who completely dominated the subject (international laws) but hadn´t assisted to classes. As this guy hadn´t assisted to his classes, this professor asked him the most dificult questions he could imagine, but the guy always had the good answer. At the end of the exam the professor, in desperate mode, said:
Professor: Ok, you´re doing well. But I have a last question. ¿How tall is the UN Secretariat bulding in New York?
Student: with or without flags?!
i found one. this song just came on. i associate it with the (great) movie Witness.
also another of my very favorite songs.

Nothing extraordinary, but not extremely disappointing performance. Funniest thing was a postgame interview where one Italian player constantly claimed they had played great and there was nothing to worry about. At least they have delusional confidence.

Yes, it’s messed up…

the problem is that there is a lack of oversight at the specific clean-up sights… BP is in carge of clean-up, but there doesn’t seem to be a clear/consistent message going to each crew…

They have the guns. It just chaps my (insert anatomical reference of your choice) that they can keep the public and authorized media reps out of certain areas just because they don;t want people to see the scope of what’s happening. That’s just wrong on every level.
What they are doing has nothing to do with clean-up worker safety (and we all know about BP’s concern for worker safety) or any other valid reason. It is simply to control the ’message". And they are doing do in a manner that clearly violates LA state law regarding public ownership of beaches.

I came to Pigeon Hole the Skeptics

the problem is
based on some weird legislation passed after the Exxon Valdez debacle, BP’s liability is limited to 75 million. So until that law changes, BP is basically paying out for the cleanup out of the goodness of its heart and out of concern for its PR.
Here's something a little more recent
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/09/dorgan-exxon-valdez-legac_n_605893.html
same general idea though… I think if BP were to fight paying though they would risk getting smacked for punitive damages in a Government brought lawsuit or some sort of retribution via legislation… (neither of those is ideal or how the system should work, but they are both options I imagine are on the table)
I came to Pigeon Hole the Skeptics
by The Arkitect on Jun 14, 2010 3:09 PM PDT up reply actions
the problem being that BP has claimed they will honor all meritorious claims, meaning they get to make the judgment on whether to pay out. How this all plays out in the end is very much unclear and will not be resolved for at least a decade (the Exxon Valdez judgment was only finalized two years ago!).

"Bof teemz play hahd"
I like the idea of the I-pad where it's all in one, but I'm not sure I want an I-pad, or that they'll even have that many books available.
The offerings in the iBook Store are expanding (so far good, not great). And there is a Kindle application for the iPad directly from Amazon, so your access to resources is unlimited. Also anything in PDF format, or any audio books from Audible or similar sites.
The advantage of the Kindle is the standby time, though the iPad isn’t bad in that department in any way but still takes more power. The screen is a bit crisper due to the e-ink technology, though that also isn’t a huge difference anymore (especially compared to what is now on the iPhone 4 which might be even a better resolution). And so far the Kindle only uses black and white, and that won’t change soon. So magazines, newspapers blogs and websites look a bit weird on it. Both aren’t really ideal for direct sunlight, so reading on the beach is still not a great idea.
Edit: The Kindle app is also available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, though of course then it’s all quite a bit smaller
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_iphone_mkt_lnd?docId=1000301301
I know I'd rather have an iPad over a Kindle
My mom loves her iPad and my dad loves his Kindle, but he’s more of a book reader and my mom an internetter.
I’d rather have something that does both, with emphasis towards internettin’, than just something for book reading.
#52
The Kindle also provides access to popular blogs, newspapers, etc. and the access is free (in the US, and some selected countries). But it really isn’t exactly a web-browsing device due to the black and white screen. I think the maker of the e-ink screen did demonstrate color displays at some trade shows, but Amazon has no plans to change to that soon according to pundits. In fact, they might eventually quit the device manufacturing/selling market and just provide the reading and shopping application, since that is not their business. They just wanted to help launch the ebook market to new heights while establishing that those books cost 9 to 14 dollars as the average price, and they have very well succeeded in that endeavor.

My dad travels a lot for work and the Kindle is great for him, downloading books to read on the plane and junk.

The key is the e-ink.
Amazon has a kindle reader for every tablet (including the small netbook tablets). But they’re all active LCD’s, which will make your eyes tired faster.
Supposedly that’s what makes the Kindle special. I know that Apple and Microsoft have tablets with a capable Amazon reader, but I’m curious if the e-ink makes a difference.
I feel like, some days, I read for hours and hours on a computer screen
Maybe I’m just used to it is all… the Kindle’s screen IS much easier on the eyes, though. I didn’t know it was called e-ink, but I think it’s pretty neat.

ya i would agree
for the most part on my ipad I use Stanza but if I use ibooks or kindle I set it on sepia and its pretty easy to read.

I want one for Father's day....
(hint, hint)
The reasons I really, really want one…
1. Smaller form factor – closer in size to a real book.
2. Longer battery life
3. highly legible in all lighting conditions.
The lack of color doesn’t bother me one bit. These old eyes like high contrast text and backgrounds, and you simply cannot get better legibility than black text on a white background.
Again, if you’re looking to buy me a wonderful Father’s Day gift, just head over to Amazon.
(This message is primarily meant for my son who also posts here….but if any others want to buy me one for Father’s Day, I am more than willing to make you an honorary family member. But you still won’t be in my will.)

about a 1/3 of the way through the 4th season.
The hybrid is plugged in and jumping all over the place.
yeah, don’t I have to watch something like the webisodes or the plan or something. I have the list at home.
Pretty sure the webisodes are after the first episode of the second half of the 4th season.
They originally were released between the half seasons, but the proper location is actually after the first episode of the second half.
There are some crazy moments coming up, with a few standalone episodes mixed in.
Its Always Sunny is one of the best comedies ever
(in my opinion… some will undoubtedly be turned off by how mean it is).
Breaking Bad is Rad. I got 6 episodes to catch up on, now that I finished Lost. IT SHOULD BE CALLED BREAKING RAD.
Mad Men is rad. I got season 2 and 3 to watch on my computer. IT SHOULD BE CALLED RAD MEN.
Dexter is good from what I’ve seen, which is just a lil’ bit.

Oh, and re:Lost
I liked the finale fine, I felt it was very Lost-y. It didn’t make me angry, though I did look up what people were saying about it and other questions that I didn’t feel were answered.
I liked the show overall, I enjoyed my time watching it, but I firmly believe the first two seasons (which were my favorite) are almost a separate thing and that the end result wasn’t something they knew they were shooting for until a few seasons ago. It’s not a bad thing, just that it makes the first two seasons full of nothing but red herrings (like why they were stealing kids, Walt’s mental powers, junk like that).
The finale was fun.
#52
i see. over the course of the series i think the only thing i wish they hadn’t left hanging was the stuff with Walt.
other than that none of the “red herrings”, in my opinion, mattered that much anyway so i didn’t think they were a big deal.

It's nothing that made me angry
Just a lack of pay off for how dramatic some things seemed to be at the time.
Very good show, very ambitious, I did enjoy every season.
#52
Stuff like how dramatic the one dude was when telling Claire
IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU RAISE THIS CHILD YOURSELF… when nothing really happened when she didn’t raise it herself, because she didn’t.
#52
didn’t that psychic tell her this stuff before she went to LA? so if she listened to him she never would have ended up on the island anyway…..

by The Arkitect on Jun 14, 2010 4:22 PM PDT up reply actions
Well part of it is to get her on the plane so she ends up on the island
I get that part.
But he’s also saying how important it is that she raises the child herself. He said this, and then helped her get on a flight to LA, which led to her landing on the island, so I get that part of it was leading her to the island but the “raise it yourself” part went nowhere.
That part had no pay off, she just went kinda sorta crazy not having her kid. But nothing major.
#52
I think the writers are good and likely had payoffs and solutions to these things when writing them
In the moment, they are great mysterious scenes and stories.
But they likely changed how they wanted the show to proceed and end, and then stuff like that gets glossed over and not addressed as much as it originally likely did. Maybe.
Who knows? The show had a grip of storylines and questions, almost impossible to satisfactorily settle them all.
#52
Cuse and Lindleof said the reason they didn’t have Walt back is simply cause the kid actor got too big. so really, sorta poor planning. and without Walt there, Michael doesn’t have much to do. His role in season 4 was a bit forced as it was.

Haha, Walt did grow up a lot when they did use him briefly
But c’mon, he isn’t allowed to age?

#52
"My mental powers that cause me to appear places while drenched in running water also make me appear to be a young man now".
#52
i think i’ll need a re-watch to really cobble the timeline together, but i think, in total, 3 years would have passed from episode one to the finale. and Walt looked much older than just 3 more years. hahaha

Ahh that's the new episode I think. No idea if it's good or not
They’re putting him through all kinds of weird challenges this year.
One thing about Always Sunny that I tell everyone who is going to venture into it.
Give it time. The first few episodes aren’t as good as the rest of it. Once Devito joins it’s a whole new ballgame. Breaking Bad is so good, Morty. Ya gotta catch up on that one, too. Last night’s finale was crazy. Mad Men always makes me want Scotch, so Ash’s desire to watch it with his good scotch makes plenty of sense to me. Here's a more interesting comment of mine from last month.
“Nah, the four Texas schools would stay intact and basically rebuild a supersized version of the old Southwest Conference. A coalition of Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Rice, Southern Methodist, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Christian, and Texas Tech would work on a regional level, although it’d take somewhat of a hit nationally.”
http://www.blazersedge.com/2010/5/11/1427988/baylesssezhatersgonnahate#37334237
Folks like atomiccafe underestimated Texas’ desire to leverage the other schools in the Big Twelve Conference for its own monetary desires. For Texas, a regional conference in which the school has its own TV network is gold.
With that said, I’m surprised that the Big Ten Conference didn’t invite Missouri and Iowa State, too, but since that didn’t happen the Big Twelve Conference only needs to add two old Southwest Conference schools instead of all remaining four.
Had the Big 10 invited Missouri, I don’t think the Big 12 would be salvageable. Too many mouths not enough money. I wonder if this was intentional on the part of the Big 10—allow the Big 12 another lease on life to buy time and plot its next move.
Even if Missouri and Iowa State had gone to the Big Ten, I bet the Big Twelve ...
would’ve survived in the meantime.
thats what everyone has been predicting all along.. god i hope not

My guess is they invite Utah to get to 12 before the negotiate a new TV contract. But who knows….whatever makes the schools/teams more money is how it will probably shake out. That’s what swayed Texas. They get a big piece of the Big 12 Tv contract, but can still form their own Texas network as well.

Tech — which is a former SEC school from 1932 through 1964 — Florida State, and Miami. Missouri is pissed, but has no choice but to go along. They hated the revenue sharing arrangement before, and now it’s even less fair with even less money coming in. Same with A & M in all likelihood. This is a very unsteady arrangement.
I can see why Missouri and Iowa State are pissed off that the Big Ten Conference spurned them, ...
but both Kansas schools, both Oklahoma schools, and the three other schools in Texas — particularly Baylor — have no room to complain here. It’s feast or famine, with this being a case where it’s better to concede some of the feast to big, bad Texas than it is to starve.

Lol, I knew I should have gone to Oxford & Co for the perks: Become a master without being one
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degrees_of_the_University_of_Oxford#Undergraduate_degrees
You can get “Undergraduate Master Degrees” in several sciences just by waiting 10 years when your bachelor degree gets “upgraded”, and Master of Arts degrees for B.A.s or B.F.A.s after 7 years.
The degree of Master of Arts is awarded to B.A.s and B.F.A.s seven years after matriculation, without further examination, upon the payment of a nominal fee. Recipients of undergraduate masters’ degrees are not eligible to incept as M.A., but are afforded the same privileges after the statutory twenty-one terms. This system dates from the Middle Ages, when the study of the liberal arts took seven years.

Will I be changing light bulbs
and he’ll be finding the olives in the very back of the refrigerator’s bottom shelf
All of that!
I’m also hoping that we can work in some advertising bucks. Maybe with iBooks like Yao and Mini-Me did in that one commercial. He could get the really big wide screen one and you could get the tiny little one.
And can you imagine the photo shoot for the posters and the signs on the sides of buses? Him popping out from between your legs or something. It’d be so epic.
There has to be a scene of the two of us going to the beach to pick up chicks. He’ll be my prop, you know, like a little dog or sumptin’.
Do you think you could give him a piggy-back ride?
OMG What if you hooked up with a spinner and he hooked up with an amazon?! That would be PRICELESS!
And it'd look so great on pictures!
We’d make bank! It’d satisfy Americas growing unmet need for a tall and short guy duo to replace Schwarzenegger and DeVito.
would tall girls come up to me and get angry that i am with a spinner? The problem being there are no decent tall men left for tall girls…but there is something interesting about my little friend, isn’t there?
I love this!
You two would make epic wingmen for the other! You could really piss them off and get a shirt with a line on it that says “You must be under this line to get on this ride”.
Ahhh, the Mexican restaurant we went to tonight had gigantic margaritas.
Some drink to remember, some drink to forget.

They're kinda similar in that The Conversation sorta begat Blow Out (as did Blow Up) and Wages of Fear begat Sorcerer (though that is a real remake, not just influenced by it).
The Conversation stars Gene Hackman as a private investigator guy who does sound work and gets hired to follow people, record them, etc.
He thinks he recorded evidence of a murder.

i see. that does sound like Blow Up.

The documentary on Caddyshack yesterday
Showed a review from Gene Shalit, just blasting the movie as one of the worst of the year, and how bad Murray, Chase, Dangerfield and Knight were. Apparently that was the overall critic response.
Ramis made a joke that when he looked at a TV Guide in the 80’s, Caddyshack had two stars. When he looked at it in the 90’s, it had three. Then of course someone added “And now, Caddyshack is Caddyshack…. and Gene Shalit is Gene Shalit”.
Sometimes critics just miss the boat.
i’ve heard that same story about the tv guide. pretty funny.

have you ever read any Armond White reviews? he’s super intelligent and not a bad writer, he’s just kind of a dick. they’re sorta interesting to read. he almost always gives really bad reviews to movies everyone else loves also. like The Dark Knight.

If we are lucky he can play like Collison, who is also physically strong and can defend his position adequately. If we are unlucky, he’s a poor man’s Mighty Mouse (or simply Patty Mills who can also shoot from 3 if you leave him open, as he demonstrated in the DL).
A player like Andre or Kidd would likely back him up all night before passing or shooting over him
Though reportedly he does care for defense and works pretty hard there. Problem is he doesn’t seem to be extremely quick going by his measurements, which small successful guys like Brooks and Collison and Barea are.
Regarding the players in that article, the Utah Jazz should select Brian Zoubek with the 55th pick.
Zoubek would be a cheap replacement for Kyrylo Fesenko, who’s a restricted free-agent this summer.
what do you think a guy like Fesenko or for that matter Travis is going to get on the market?
by southern oregon on Jun 14, 2010 6:21 PM PDT up reply actions
I think Travis Outlaw could get the full MLE from a team such as, oh, the Memphis Grizzlies. It's ...
harder to peg what’ll happen with Kyrylo Fesenko, though, since the market is tight this year and he won’t get MLE level payday — which’d be based solely on size — like Marcin Gortat did last summer.
he does look like he could eventually be good.. if he had a good coach

But Ronaldo scored way more goals in big tournaments
Only Klose could catch him during this world cup tournament (I think he needs 4 more)
I don't know enough about either player to fully judge.
But it would seem that Ronaldo’s had better teammates and would play in more tournament games even if he was a lesser player. I’m just not sure of that particular metric, that’s all.
Correct. Counterattack is the word. They have excellent defensive midfielders who break up play and get it forward with ruthless effectiveness.
He is in a bad situation at Madrid. Hopefully he can showcase a bit more w/Brazil which is built around him.
Ronaldo seems to be better
so I guess Kaka will have to modify his game to play alongside him. Is there a scheme that can take advantage of two players that seem to be of such a similar ilk? Feels like you’ll have defensive issues if they both played aggressively.
I hope Brazil and Spain play at some point.
Spain has two great players to set up strikers and other players in Xavi and Iniesta
Lionel Messi should pay each 10% of his paycheck.
C Ronaldo could potentially play two more WCs. Of course, there’s a good chance his team goes out in the group stage this year.

in terms of al east relievers, joba is easier to hate than papelbon imo
I’m not doubting that C. Ronaldo and the real Ronaldo are better players than Klose. Just mentioning that he is one of the top scorers in world cup history, though an 8-0 vs. Saudi Arabia in 2002 has something to do with that.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_FIFA_World_Cup_goalscorers#Overall_top_goalscorers
Klose was a great, great player between ‘03/’04 and about ‘07. Not top five in the world, but people who think he’s lucky to be snaring those goals in the WC are off base.
He's one of the most dangerous head-ball strikers I've ever seen
That goal against Australia was a classic for him, just like the chance he missed. He’s a nightmare to cover for smaller defenders who can’t get up as high since he’ll just push them out of the way and when he’s on he’s very determined to get to the ball and score. He’s also a pretty unselfish striker who goes back to help defend or bring balls up front and assist others. Only when he gets cold because nobody flanks to him, he really can get cold for long stretches and then he gets down on himself. That the coach trusted him to start him again probably meant a lot to his psyche.
whats with this word klose?
i read it in the same sentence with kobe in it.

Funny, in Europe movies routinely don't get screened for critics. I have that remark in a cinema magazine all the time.
Yep, totally the opposite in the US
If a studio thinks a movie will be good (or even simply “not terrible”), they’ll do a review round. It gives a movie a lot of buzz, and often they’ll use quotes from the critics in opening-weekend commercials. Even the mediocre ones, since they’ll still get some good reviews to grab a quote from.
It’s all from Siskel and Ebert. They made a show that brought critics into the mainstream, and ever since, critic reviews of movies are just part of popular culture.

Justin Bieber, however, must have a couple years on the younger sister, which can be ...
a sizeable difference at that age. Of course, there’s high schools throughout the country with 16-year-old guys dating 14-year-old girls. Yet, if I were in Bieber’s shoes, I’d be trying to hook up with women a couple years older, as that’d be a status thing.
Good point.
And Kylie turns out to be like 13. That’s fairly younger than even 14. At that age.
Beebs would set himself up well by dating 18-22 yo models exclusively.
id use the word dating very loosely

Dating looks good.
Even if a few crazy chicks will go nuts over it. He should appear to be dating. Privately be enjoying the perks of said relationship. And playing like a 16yo boy that looks like a 14yo girl but has mad money should be playing.

That's exactly what Justin Bieber should do at this moment in time, especially ...

Here's my Maury Povich insurance story of the day.
Claim is filed, stating “insured’s grand-daughter is accused of attacking her neighbor.”
The Facts: Our insured and her 11 year old grand-daughter live together. Mom is not in the picture. 11 year-old and her aunt get in a fight of some kind, and the grandma is trying to keep the aunt from pummeling the girl. The girl then throws water in the aunt’s face and throws a drinking glass at her, causing an injury. Fine.
Why were they fighting? The aunt found out that the 11 year old got caught having sex with 15 and 16 year old boys in the park. To quote my co-worker, “it has yet to be determined if she was having sex with them at the same time.”
ELEVEN YEARS OLD!
I’m shocked Maury isn’t on the scene already. Imagine the possibilities for the montage video. “I’m only 11 and my mama can’t keep me from sleeping with all the boyz, cuz imma gonna have a baby! my man gives me whatever i want, and all i gotta do is do what he says. momma can’t stop me!” ( go to 3:35)
EP FTW!

I read somewhere this week that girls (in the US or western countries) on average now begin puberty before age 10, way earlier than 20/50/100 years ago and still earlier than most boys.
Some of that are earlier hormonal/developmental changes by evolution and better environmental conditions (like people grow taller and taller and get older and older on average), though I guess some of it is media influence telling people way earlier to discover their sexuality.
A trend of kids world wide reaching puberty younger started several generations ago
by southern oregon on Jun 14, 2010 8:14 PM PDT up reply actions
Sure. The news I think was that it now dropped below 10 for girls.
By whatever scientific measure or symptoms that gets measured ;)
It really does.
I can’t imagine how much faster it goes when they are your own kids. My nephew will be a year old already in August and it seems like he was born yesterday.

I don’t give too much on it, but it does include some useful tools for my work like a lot of project, process and idea management concepts do. A few years ago I sat in an office with two master black belts, and kind of learned by osmosis and water cooler talk ;-)
yeah, it is useful at time, but more than anything, it provides some tools and structure to problem solving. I like it, but it has its limitations. It always seems to come down to “as the crow flies” in my opinion. Basically, what can you do to draw the straightest line between the start and end. SS gives you to tools to understand what’s actually important, and what’s not.
It's well imaginable that NBC is a casualty of GE's management processes
Hardly anymore top of the industry, which for GE is usually a sign to divest. Not many hits. Not a great revenue stream with declining ad dollars much less a field that looks to grow and grow. And next to no overlapping (i.e. any synergies) with their industrial businesses. Fairly easy to see why they might want to get out of it and sell to someone closer to that industry. Unfortunately they found a company that also doesn’t seem to be that great about managing to what would make their customers really really happy.
This makes sense.
The idea of a director of television and microwave programming is funnier on TV than in reality.
I just watched 1.5 minutes of Last Comic Standing
Wow, they had four people that passed the audition and they were all awful.
i liked the iliza shelsinger special on comedy central
i never saw her on LCS however.

Oh man I hate that show
They always seem to pick the bad comics, and the judges are usually AWFUL so it’s not anyone people respect… until this year, they got Greg Geraldo and Andy Kindler, both funny guys who comics like. The girl is kinda not great though. I saw her in a club last year and she was sucky and wasn’t even trying. I know she is on Chelsea Handler so she is big time now…?
I’m not sure what season I watched but it was the last season I watched of the show (the beginning parts) and the judges were so bad… Alonzo Bodden and one of the overly gay comics that competed on the show before. And non-funny guest judges. They would tell people who were funny that they weren’t funny when, indeed, Cabby, they, indeed, were the not, funny, ones.

THAT HAS TO BE IT
Since college I’ve had no problems making friends and people, in general, seem to like me, but I am aware of it still feeling weird and I believe it is because of growing up not-well-liked.
Also, for some reason, I think I am tiring to be around.

I 'member the original BSG series, and I haven't seen BB so I am prolly a poor judge
But so far, BSG is a good drama with a lot of moral, religious faith, trust, etc questions asked.
While I agree

For me, the first episode of season 4.5 (episode 11) is one of the most memorable episodes of the series.
But boy, it’s won’t slow down from here. But there will be a few episodes to calm things down before the next storm.

Mini-world cup preview for Tuesday
New Zealand v. Slovakia-4:30 AM-New Zealand is either the worst or next to worst team in the tournament (North Korea is the other possible choice) so Slovakia need to win this one if they have any realistic shot of making the second round.
Portugal v. Ivory Coast-7 AM-Will Drogba be allowed to play with a cast on his arm? Only FIFA knows the answer to that question. Even if he’s healthy, you’d probably have to fancy Portugal here, both teams will be pressing for a win in the group of death.
Brazil vs. North Korea-11:30-About the only favor anyone at FIFA has done with this match is place to start at 3:30 AM Wednesday local in North Korea. It is going to be really brutal, by which I mean 5 or 6-0 is not out of the question, if not more lopsided than that. The Dear Leader’s team will fall apart to the sounds of the Brazilian attack.

Hmm. Long bitter story about that
We’re very happy for how far she got, and it’s been a rewarding, though difficult, journey for her. That 4 goals are scored in the first half, that’s ridiculously low.

They have one decent striker but that’s it. They’re so inept they listed one of their forwards as a GK, which means he can only play GK.

"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
33:1 to win. I can’t remember specifically, but recently I think a 38:1 underdog won in some club comp.

Other than my back bumper and her license plate, everything's alright,
although I did have an out-of-nowhere nosebleed later. Hopefully not some internal injury.

She only took my number, just in case.
But she said, “it happens” and didn’t even mention insurance claims or anything. That’s one girl I don’t want to call me back.
She mighta' just been flirting
You sure it wasn’t that one girl you rejected a while back? The jokey one?

what’s your position on going on a date with someone in place of paying for car damages? If it comes down to that, I’m so screwed.
Go on the date
To avoid it being reported to insurance and paying money, just go on the date. If they keep trying to take it further, use your best judgement. It might not be so bad though, compared to increased insurance rates.
#52
you're telling me to be a gigolo...
chances are she won’t call back, but if it does happen, I might have to take your advice. smh
ah, that's good.
hopefully nothing comes of it. Cause no matter how the claim ends up, you’re insurance will go up in price…car insurance is such a huge scam.

I've found that, in general those who are successful in business are aggressive drivers
My theory is that if it works for them in the office, it’ll work for them in the road. And of course, they usually see their time as more important than others’.
I thought I was going to die the other day.
We were by the Zoo right after the tunnel in the middle lane. A Jeep going so damn slow in the fast lane decided to cut us off so my mom got in the fast lane to go around her. The Jeep turns her right signal on to go over one more lane, when all of a sudden she swerves in front of us in the left lane. My mom slams on the brakes and swerves over a little bit onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her.
The DA must have head checked and turned the wheel the wrong way at the same time.

There are some that get it.
But yeah, it’s pretty bad on the whole. If I had a sister I would be freaked out.
by Cablinasian on Jun 15, 2010 12:13 AM PDT up reply actions
Well, unless your sister is dumb enough.
(I have a special needs sister, so I can get away with such a awful, if not offensive joke.)
I think so, but she's gone to dances with ...
other special needs kids around her age, 18, in the recent past. Nothing sexual, thankfully.
However, she’s only mildly retarded — yes, I know that word is outdated — and, for what it’s worth, she’s got Prader-Willi Syndrome.
Ah interesting.
In all seriousness, the sexual behaviors of the ‘special needs’ community is an interesting phenomenon.
In no seriousness, we all got special needs don’t we?
Yeah, I recall a couple of special needs ...
kids at my high school were caught fooling around with each other. It’s almost similar to old people, who either shut down sexually or ramp it up in their elder years.
Thankfully for my parents, though, my sister isn’t hypersexual — or whatever the term is to describe it — so that’s a bonus.
Yeah, that would get troubling quickly.
Although I wonder if special needs individuals prefer to be hypersexual or not.
I'm not sure, but it made for a hilarious ...
story that such an incident happened during school hours in one of the bathrooms. Then again, I’d’ve been upset and embarrassed had my sister ever done something that vile.
She’s seven years younger than me, though, so I’m glad that I never attended school with her. I know that sounds harsh, but it’s true.
It's a reasonable thing to feel.
It’s weird enough to have any little sister around you at school (I have one who’s five years younger and one who’s twelve years younger). Adding special needs at that age would be difficult on anyone. Not sure if this is what you were implying, but it makes sense.
Even I have moments where I wonder if my comment would have crossed the line
But I’m chuckling over here nonetheless.
Try having 3...
At least one will never date (the one with Down’s). The sister who has a baby and another on the way found a perfect guy, super duper sweet, loves his daughter more than anything in the world and they were engaged…then she left him, went and got preggers with a super dbag, and then asked for the good guy back. Thankfully, for now, he took her back. The youngest one has had several boyfriends already, and most have been dbags who I wanted to curbstomp. This newest one ain’t bad though

Yet, even if I had a sister who functioned fully, I wouldn’t care at all what she did with guys.

I've been lucky
I dread having daughters, though I hope for the best. I ain’t really the jealous type and I doubt it’ll extend to my daughter’s love lives. Plus, they invented that anti-rape condom thingy and by the time I got daughters at doing-it age those things will be so advanced they won’t even know I am making them wear one 24/7.
My sisters don’t make me worry ever… the youngest married a nice boy of mystery ethnicity, so while he is likely a sleeper cell he is at least nice for now.
The other one hasn’t found a nice boy yet but she at least doesn’t like douches and is good at dumping boys fast if she don’t like them.
