I want to guage the Blazersedge's edge willingness to make a splash this offseason and go after Evan Turner. There are rumors that Philly may be willing to move the #2 pick if it is able to unload Elton Brand's contract in the package. Any deal is probably going to have to include LMA or Batum. Should we include either of these two in a deal for Brand and the #2? This trade won't work until July 1, but we could deal LMA and Webster for Brand and the #2. I think this is a fair deal from both sides and I would take a long, hard look at doing it. This would leave our frontcourt rotation of Oden, Camby, Brand, Cunningham, (Przy when healthy). Our backcourt rotation would be Roy, Batum, Evans, Miller, Bayless, and Rudy. I would love the possibility of having Roy, Turner, Batum playing at the same time and all being able to handle the ball. It would be similar to the Harper, Jordan, Pippen lineups that Chicago would play. However, Portland would have Oden in the middle.
The primary downside to this deal is becoming weak at the 4 spot. Camby and Brand would take the majority of the minutes there, but they are older and injury prone. Cunningham would be a solid option to fill in behid these two. I think if we were to make this deal we should look to trade Rudy, our #22 pick and cash and move up to grab a young PF like Patrick Patterson although he seems to be moving up the draft boards lately.
Thoughts? Is this too much to give???
