Three team trade...

This could be the man.....

So if the Blazers are to make a run at a point guard for the future and want to go big, then I throw my vote for Chris Paul.

We know there is chemistry with him and Brandon Roy. Ala all star game....

He is expensive but in the trades simulation, the salaries worked with this scenario...

Portland gets - Chris Paul and Darrell Arthur

Memphis gets - Martell Webster

New Orleans gets  - Rudy Fernandez and Andre Miller.

Why it works:

Well, chemistry is good with Paul and Roy. It is Chris Paul, nuff said! We have talent to give New Orleans in exchange as well, we free up some 7 million of their debt problems with the cap. Collision is very good and proved it this year. Also They are getting my man Andre Miller and Rudy gives them a new dynamic. Talk about a back court. Andre, Collison, Fernandez. That is alot of motivation and they also want our asst. coach. Darrell Arthur is a filler but a serious Blazer candidate during pre draft and he is a young and improving PF.

Memphis gets my man Martell Webster. Looking at their roster, only one player is a better SF and that player is trade bait this year in Rudy Gay. Good fill in at SF if he leaves. Also if he does not decide to leave or get traded, this leaves Martell as proven role player IMHO. They would be cheaper in staying with Martell as I feel he could actually be as good a talent as Gay.

All teams stand to gain from this deal. The talent is spread well. No one is getting shoveled. I would assume some extra spiffs could be thrown at New Orleans or Memphis to get them itching to pull the trigger.

Why it won't :work

General Managers having man crushes on their players...

Any changes to salaries, etc. I am unaware of....

Note: I love the team but it is all about getting it done. This will help each team get a chance to get it done next year. And maybe make some of these less happy players a little bit happier.
