Wishful thinking

No stats or links but may i  ask of you

Do you think we would be more effective being a somewhat younger team if we took the "cultre" one step further and required that the players actually lived in Portland for part of the off season?  It may sound crazy to most of you but to those of you who played high school and college ball, you have to admit that giving up your summer to be around, play with, work out, and just getting to really know the guys that you were going to war with in the winter pays huge dividends..This city isnt that bad. its the reason why at least 30% of ex Blazer players stick around, retire, or choose to represent the organiztion after their playing days are over.. no stats or links just feelings.. with our mild summers and  world class facilities there is no reason why we cant have it going on in the summer like they do in Atlanta and Houston during the summer.. if we bulid it they will come. Martell should not have to go to LA to get a decent pick up game!
If they all lived here they could roll out the bed and stumble into a dirth of talent, be close to the training staff (is that good or bad?) be media darlings and really mesh with thier teammates..

I know youre going to say.. they need thier space,.. This team is on the cusp. either we are going to step to the next level, or forever be like the sidney moncrief era Bucks, a decent team that never got over the hump..

All Im saying is stop talking like its" team" this and "team" that when  we arent getting to know each other when it counts!  Scottie and B.J spent summers with Jordan because they wanted to win! point blank.
Its time we stop blaming the owner and upper management and ask the players to look in the mirror! take your vacations around the world that are so deserved, but get back here and take one for the team.
