By now we have ample evidence that this season there are probably more accomplished teams with more accomplished players, teams that have won more games and that will probably win more. This season every Blazer fan has had the gut-wrenching, sickening experience as another lead slipped away, another frustrating blowout, another heart-breaker squandered in the last minute, the uneven play and inconsistency, another player out--nearly 4 a game.
And yet...and yet...they won far more than they lost, far more than anyone expected after the injuries began. We saw them do what they did. To Dallas. To San Antonio, Phoenix, LA, and others. We saw it. We saw it with our own eyes. After the final ember of this season expires, we will never see anything like this particular team again.
Honor this team for what they have accomplished. Stand for them; cheer and clap and stomp and shout; sing them a love song as sweet and as sonorous as that they have sung to us this entire season. Honor them. Honor them all:
