Rudy's Blog - 4/23 - Four 3pts of anger and joy

Original link

Hi everyone. I'm writing after a tough loss against Phoenix, the second in a row. We're in bad shape and we don't have confidence even though we've beaten this team already a few times this season. Now, without Roy and Batum is even harder, but we have to stay together, keep playing as a team and try it.

But I'd like to focus on the positive parts of the game. First, my teammates. They're such great guys...Everyone is supportive and we help each other, and that's the reason we've overcome so many difficulties during the season. Personally, they've helped me a lot. When your spark is off, that your teammates come and support you like that is amazing.

Afterwards I'd like to thank the crowd again. Even though I'm not playing well they still chant my name. I've run out of words to describe them. Thanks to them, I can keep my mind off everything else. Really, I'm playing for this team and for these fans. I feel very identified with them.

This is being a tough year, you all know that. But I'd like to make clear that it is not a lost year: I'm maturing a lot, and every player has to go through these moments. Second years are not my thing, my second year at Joventut I was injured and didn't play good either. I got through that with the help of my family, my coach who trusted me... Here is different, and that's the reason i'm growing. It's the NBA, and there are no excuses.

These past few days I've tried to isolate myself and focus on giving the maximum on the court, without paying attention to anything else. That's why, when I scored those 3 3pts in a row, I felt anger and happiness at the same time. They were coming a bit late in the game, but there were feelings that I hadn't had on a court for a long time. I need confidence, and I know that here I'm the one who has to give it to myself (that came out a bit weird, hope you get the sense). I'm like always, ready for what is coming and to give 100% percent. Let's see what happens now.

Finally, from this humble blog I'd like to send a strong hug and my condolences to the family of the ex-COI president Samaranch.
