Isola: Camby Has New York State of Mind?

53
Frank Isola of the New York Daily News quotes Marcus Camby expressing interest in New York as a potential free agent destination this summer... ---------------------------- "I'm one to never burn any bridges. Its appealing going back home (Camby is from Hartford, Conn.) and going back to a city where I had a lot of great memories and a lot of great friends. Come July 1, I'll definitely give New York a look if they're interested. But I'm really happy about being here in Portland. We're in the playoffs. We have a great young team." Camby was traded from the Clippers to the Blazers in late February and he's made an immediate impact. Going into last night, Portland was 13-4 since GM Kevin Pritchard made the deal and the club isn't ruling out trying to re-sign Camby. However, the two injured centers Camby replaced - Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla - are both under contract for next season. "Next year I've got to factor in those guys coming back to see how I fit in the picture," Camby added. "I feel good, my body feels good and I feel I have a lot left." ---------------------------- -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
