Blazers Extend Camby!!!!
Just heard on 95.5 that the Portland Trailblazers have extended the contract of Marcus Camby 2 years in the range of 25 million dollars. I was shocked when i heard the number, but I was in the opinion that we had to do whatever is necessary to keep Camby even if its going over the cap or whatever. This really makes upa solid team for the enxt few years, even if Oden turns out to be a bust, which is how its looking, we still have a solid starting center and a backup for LA if and when Oden and Pryz come back.

Oden will not be a bust!
Camby had a slow, injury ridden start in the league, and Greg will follow in his footsteps. How much better will Camby make all our big men is off the charts! And who better to be a mentor off the court as well.
MARCUS CAMBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This sounds premature by 95.5
Marc Stein is reporting that the Blazers are in negotiations with Camby, nothing more. Here’s the link. Are you sure that you heard that he’s been signed?

If true, this is wonderful news.
Not just for the fact that we locked up a guy who’s been a monster for us, but because inking a third center to big money over two years doesn’t exactly sound like KP has had his wings clipped, huh!

To be fair, 95.5 is saying that the two sides have agreed to the deal and are awaiting league approval. So it is not a done deal yet.
Camby’s influence on the team – both in terms of his personal performance and how he’s influenced guys like

Might have to get a Camby jersey
"I don't feel like I'm going to be happy or complete until I'm an All-Star. My favorite example is that it took Chauncey six, seven years. And Chauncey's been a mentor for me, and I've learned a lot from him in these last couple years. So, people can say what they want, but I'll get the last laugh. " - Bayless
how soon people forgot how awesome Oden was earlier this year
Michael Jordan is the Nicolas Batum of America
I Know
I just don’t understand why some people don’t see how much better he makes us.

The influence of Camby
on Oden and LMA could just transform this team. What a devastating 3 man rotation!

And Oden can teach Camby how to dunk!

I didn't think I could get more jacked
Than I had been last night and this morning, but I think I’m over the edge right now! No more coffee for me, heart rate thru the roof!
Effect on Oden?
If this is true, I wonder if Greg see it as an affront, or as an opportunity to learn form a guy who’s strengths are right in line with his skill set.
Those who clamored for Ewing to come in a coach GO last year should see this as a very good sub-scenario…
After one play today, Bayless walked to the sideline, picked up the garbage bucket that collects the extra basketball balls and then slammed it down forcefully while shouting. For no particular reason. - Ben
I love Marcus Camby
and he has played great since coming over, but that’s a lot of money to throw at a 37 year old. How does that affect the amount of money we can offer Batum and Oden when their rookie contracts expire?
Dear Rose Garden
Thank you for the chant.
Sincerely,
Marcus Camby

Just imagine if Greg and Joel come back healthy
Joel is a good soldier who won’t mind DNP-CDs until we have need for him. We can match up with ANYBODY in the West with that Cerberus of a center rotation.

Joel will play plenty.
In our many blowouts. Who knows the record for rebounds by a team in a season? It’s about to get shattered!!!!!!!!
Somebody step up! - Mike Rice
One thing for sure
when we go to the bench for a big there will be NO drop off in game.
O.R.
Can't wait for the national media
To tell us it’s not gonna work…no way they can play together… both Oden and Camby need to be in the paint..blah blah blah…oh wait
O.R.
Just saw o-live reporting that Camby’s extension is an agreement in principle. Before I get too excited, I am reminded of another player who “agreed in principle” to a fat contract with the Blazers: Hedo Turkoglu.
Yeah...
and look what happened to him…

No worries
Camby has Character. If he told him he would sign it then he will sign it. Just makes me wonder just how much more can KP do for this team. I mean ..WOW!

A moment of silence for my favorite Blazer
Joel Przybilla. I can’t imagine him getting resigned. Thrilla…Vanilla Gorilla…you’re the man. Hope you find your way to a contender!
just win
Resigned in 10-11?
Cuz he has a player option for next year that he will undoubtedly utilize.

Pryzbilla will probably be traded
Word has it that after his shower slip in which he re-injured his knee, that he may be out for most or all of next season as well. If that’s the case, he becomes a valuable trade chip, as his 7M contract would be covered by insurance. So lets say (just hypothetically) that we throw in Webster as well – he makes 5M so the two of them would be a combined 12M – a team could ship out a guy making 12-13M, take back Pryz and Webster, and only be on the hook for Webster’s 5M, instantly shaving 7M of their cap.
If we sign Camby to that big money, and get Oden back (still having LMA, Juwan Howard, and Pendergraph), I don’t see how we could ignore that

Oden a bust--whuh?
Too early to call it that. Bowie had a productive career. I don’t see why Oden can’t either. I think the term “bust” is often overused in hyperbole.
