I’m the rare sportswriter who makes his team allegiances known, and thats’ my team. No, putting all that together doesn’t mean I’m a merciless, integrity-depraved homer.

Yup
I don’t doubt that he’s got a pretty good understanding of the sport and the league, but he’s also a pretty big homer (not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with that).

Stating one's biases is honest journalism.
It would be better if that was the accepted model in this country. Acting as though one is unbiased is disingenuous.
But he’s more of a commentator, no?
Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.
