Brandon Roy's knee surgery
Here is the history of Brandon's knee surgeries so far: 2001 - While a Jr. at Garfield High School he had a tear in his left meniscus, was told it would be 'about a month' to come back. He was close to 100% 2 1/2 weeks later. 2004 - Junior at UW, tore his right meniscus in a pre-conference play tourney game. It was announced he'd have a 4-6 week recovery period but he surprised the home crowd by coming into a game against NC State less than 3 weeks after the surgery with a few minutes left in the first half (one of the most fun games I've been to at Hec Ed.) 2008 - Ended his season after having surgery to repair the left meniscus again. Recovery time was again 4-6 weeks. Since it was in the off-season we're not sure how long it took to feel 100% again. 2010 - Right lateral meniscus tear again. Might try to play through the injury which he hasn't done before. If this injury were a month ago there's no doubt he'd be ready to go for the playoffs but I'm not sure if he'll be effective playing through pain. The bigger concern is his on-going health, both to help the team and his personal well-being. My brief research does suggest that the lateral meniscus tears (what Brandon has been suffering from) are easier to deal with than medial tears. Also, meniscus replacements are done more frequently now but probably wouldn't allow a professional athlete to continue his career.

totally agree.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, please stop using the following: "Book it.", "FTW", "Epic" & "Fail".
...no seriously--stop.
I think that ....
…He’ll play as many games as he can during the playoffs before the words “out indefinitely” are muttered.. .and that scares me.
The Faith don't panic, the faith freaks out, burns out farms, and torchs small villages in the name of The Faith.
Head Czar of Amerika <--- Mortimer said so so there!!!
I hope he doesn't play
Grant hill tried to play through a similar injury when he was with the Pistons, and ruined his next few years because of it
I thought I heard somewhere that
Roy couldn’t damage the knee further if he played
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
i think he means the meniscus specifically
and he’s correct. it’s all about pain management and what level of play Roy can play at now until the off-season. Luckily if i had to pick a ligament in my knee to tear, it would definitely be the meniscus. not to say it’s not important, but compared to ACL’s, MCL’s and what not it’s a lucky break, uhhhh tear.
Many people go there entire life with meniscus tears, never having surgery and just treating it with occasional medication. Now Roy doesn’t have your average 9-5 job, but just sayin.
