By the way, heard Blazers sent the league ** TWENTY** calls from the game last night. Also told "Dallas probably had another 20."
@johnhollinger
This was from yesterday, so it's a little old, but it's referencing the awful officiating from Friday night's game. I was just curious, though, what happens when the league gets videos of blown calls like these? Do they issue an apology or something? Also, do they keep a tally of which refs are screwing up the most, so they can keep refs accountable and eventually fire the ones that are complained about most often?

Per and ESPN article a few years ago...
…the league keeps an internal running tally of:
Missed calls + blown calls
For each and every ref. This total for the season determines playoff assignments (if any). The refs with the lowest season totals get more post-season assignments.
so maybe theres not a conspiracy.
maybe friday’s refs were just lazy bastards that didn’t want to work another 6 weeks, and were padding their vacation chances.

at least that's the kind of work ethic-
that sounds like it’d go with being that incompetent at their job.

It's highly unlikely that there's a conspiracy.
It’s much more likely that Kenny Mauer is incompetent.
That’s essentially what the FBI decided about the 2002 WCF. The FBI spent a lot of time looking at the 2002 WCF as part of their Donaghy investigation, and their conclusion was the refs were incompetent, not that the league had directed anything.

Take a look at Ken Mauer
he just looks like a rat (not literally the rodent, but someone I wouldn’t trust)
