"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

But we'd have beaten Denver, so they drop a half game too
Therefore, one game out of 5th
Oregon Football: Keeping Oregon State out of the Rose Bowl since 2008
But we're two games out right now.
And we play the team that is fifth…
we own the tie over memphis and they don't
the magic number is 83, and we’re only at 82. We’ve only clinched a tie with the grizz, as have the thundersonics.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Makes sense. Worst case scenario we tie Memphis, but own the tiebreaker, so… clinched.
OKC doesn’t. Perfect!

Good month. But we kind of expected that with the schedule and the extra time off. Time to continue that in April.

that's horrendous, and illegal under first amendment rights, I believe.
The redskins(I think it was them) tried this and got in trouble for it, so they had to just completely ban signs.
Cake or Death?
Typical Jail Blazer Brass behavior -- a couple signs that would have been ignored and in 24 hours it'll be a HUGE pie in the face for Paul Allen's hottub buddies...
"A bizarre and extremely rare hybrid Blazer/Laker fan, Timbo has always struggled to contain the Beast Within, like Dr. Jekyll, Bruce Banner, or Ted Kennedy." — Miled Animal
'Cept last time they wanted to FIRE the GM, now they want to KEEP him.... Doubly stupid!
"A bizarre and extremely rare hybrid Blazer/Laker fan, Timbo has always struggled to contain the Beast Within, like Dr. Jekyll, Bruce Banner, or Ted Kennedy." — Miled Animal
Am I the only one...
That feels someone or ones in Seattle is shooting themselves in the foot? No one in authority would expect a Portland crowd to react anyway but the opposite of what they desire. At least, no one who knows the Blazer fans.
I am no longer "young" enough to know everything!
What's the definition of stupid?
Doing the same thing again and again, the same way, and expecting different results. (or something to that affect)
I am no longer "young" enough to know everything!
Actually...
that’s a functional definition of insanity.
"...the rumblings grew louder. Dribble. Dribble. Fake. Dribble. Fake. Shoot. ...a towering dark shadow too terrible to describe. In its hand it held a huge black globe and on its chest was written in cruel runes, 'Villanova.' 'Aiyee,' shouted Legolam. 'A ballhog!'"
Yeah, insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
Also the definition for science:
http://xkcd.com/242/
You can measure skill and talent with your eyes, but productivity is shown through statistics.
This is not a first amendment issue.
By buying a ticket, you are agreeing to a contract with the arena. As part of the contract, they provide you a game, and your rights are limited in certain ways. This is one of them, to my understanding.
It doesn’t mean I’m happy about it, but it’s important to make the distinction.
that's why I said I believe
cause I know entering buildings changes things, whether it’s for sports or concerts or what have you.
Thanks for clarifying.
Cake or Death?
No worries.
I’m also very unhappy they’ve made this decision, but I did want to make sure to clarify that, seemed important to nip that topic in the bud.
It’s true, but still a bad idea from the Blazer Brass. They better hope this doesn’t blow up in their face. They need as much good publicity as they can get these days
The short one says to the tall one, "If I were you, I'd be tall."
The tall one replies, "No, if you were me, I'd be short."
Yeah, it's a horrible way to handle it
It just ensures that EVERYONE knows about the sign, since it isn’t like TV cameras were showing them.
#52
Yeah, no kidding. They own the TV cameras, just don't show the signs and they don't exist...
I think Paul Allen hangs out with Brezhnevites…
"A bizarre and extremely rare hybrid Blazer/Laker fan, Timbo has always struggled to contain the Beast Within, like Dr. Jekyll, Bruce Banner, or Ted Kennedy." — Miled Animal
The First Amendment
protects you against government action (and in a few other “traditional public venue” situations). So far, the Vulcans are not the (Earth) government, so you won’t have a First Amendment claim for them silencing you.
Would have been very funny being there with wife or girlfriend wearing that on a tshirt!

Ben updated with this a few minutes ago
- Rose Garden usher tells me no instructions were issued regarding pulling specific signs (KP-related) from crowd tonight. **
4 minutes ago via UberTwitter
And I don’t even twitter, just had to find him so I knew what was going on.
Cake or Death?
First tweet about the situation
“Oh dear. RT @krizzikinz Rose Garden usher told us they were told that if they see any Keep KP shirts/signs to remove them.”
Me too. Glad I looked it up.
being able to only type however many letters one can in twitter, and the rapidity to which things are said, really isn’t a great way of communicating. Also Glad that Ben cleared it up.
Cake or Death?
I am glad he cleared it up too
But overall, it’s likely better to check with an usher or a Blazers rep before spreading the news around, since more people follow Ben and Blazersedge, than Krizzikinz.

T-mac went against both his team's and doctor's wishes
by getting microfracture. In the month or 2 before he went under the knife it became pretty clear he was the only one who thought his knee was injured
Someone had to recommend microfracture
I can’t imagine there would be many doctors who would perform microfracture surgery without a previous diagnosis.
Those shady sidestreet alley microfracture surgeries have got to be outlawed
We gotta make microfracture surgery legal so those butchers don’t ruin any more NBA careers with black market micros.

I've attended only 6 Blazer games in my lifetime
And they’ve won 5 of them. I will always remember the first game I attended, against Golden State back in 1992 or 1993 (can’t remember). But that was the game where Buck Williams nabbed his 10000th rebound of his career.
After the game was over, Schonz interviewed Buck right on the court, and I got to go down and sit in one of the seats near the sideline. That was my brush with Blazer awesomeness.

Sabas lived near me
There is a “Street of Dreams” neighborhood near my parents house. He lived there.

are there multiple "street of dreams" in PDX, or is it the one up on Mt. Scott?
I remember going to the opening celebration of that, my best friend growing up lived up there.

Man, Sabo was a beast in 97-98
I was pretty young back then so I just remember him being awesome, but this is his line for that year:
YEAR 97-98 TEAM POR G 73 GS 73 MIN 2,333 FGM-A 407-826 3PM-A 30-115 FTM-A 323-405 OFF 149 DEF580 TOT729 AST 218 STL 65 BLK80 TO 190 PF 267 PTS 1,167
Quite a few turnovers, but geeze, that’s a heck of a stat line.

yeah. that was undeserved. i know theyre trying to move away from that era, but z-bo shoulda been an all-star here, and he deserved a few clips.
damon and sheed got a decent amount of face time, but not enough for me (it was about the same amount as “DD” dale davis). the player formerly known as the k*be stopper got none. overall i ithought it was good though
