Projections

  1. L.A.  60.9 wins.
  2. Utah.  53.9 wins (up from 3rd).
  3. Dallas.  53.6 wins (down from 54.2 in 2nd).
  4. Denver.  53.1 wins.
  5. Phoenix.  51.7 wins.
  6. OKC.  49.8 wins.
  7. Portland.  49.1 wins (up from 48.6).
  8. S.A.  48.1 wins.
  9. Memphis.  42.6 wins.
  10. Houston.  41.4 wins (down from 42.2).

Utah gained the advantage for the #2 seed.  We have an excellent chance at #6-7, maybe even #5 if we are very lucky.  Houston's challenge must be over.

Tonight

  1. Utah @ Indiana.  Cat 3 "Banana Peel" for Utah.  Indiana has won 4 in a row, Utah 5 of last 6.
  2. Denver @ Toronto.  Cat 4 "Rocky Road" for Denver.  Toronto just got destroyed by Utah.  Denver has lost 3 in a row.
  3. L.A. @ OKC.  Cat 4 "Rocky Road" for L.A., Cat 2 "Jawbreaker" for OKC.  Very important game.
  4. Cleveland @ S.A.  Cat 2 "Jawbreaker" for S.A.  Another important game.
  5. N.Y. @ Phoenix.  Cat 1 "Cream Puff" for Phoenix.

We caught S.A. in the league table.  If they lose tonight, we are ahead of them.  If OKC loses tonight and we win in N.O., we will be tied with them when we play them.

This will probably be my last daily update.  I wish to thank everyone for being so nice to me.  I hope the Blazers win the rest of their games.

Thanks for the work you out into these updates

It would have been sad to lose them at such a critical juncture of the season.

When I have a son I hope he grows up to be a well adjusted Blazer fan with solid excell skills just like jscotjr

Thanks for all your hard work and give your dad our best.

After Oden went down I made a 50 dollar bet with my brother that the Blazers would make the playoffs. That was 3 injuries ago. Thank the lord for B-Rex, we can do it!

Given their easy schedule

and the fact that they’ve been playing so well, it sure seems like there is a reasonable chance that Phoenix moves up to #2. I don’t know the tiebreakers, but I recall them beating Denver a couple of times and whomping on Utah as well. They’re only 1 game in the loss column behind the three second place contenders ahead of them. If we can climb past San Antonio, Phoenix is a beatable first round playoff opponent.

by BrewDude on Mar 26, 2010 12:41 AM PDT reply actions

no way

Dallas loses to use once more and either to Denver or Orlando, for 2 more losses.
Denver loses at least 3 more at Magic or Mavs, at Phx or OKC, and vs Blazers, LA or SA.
PHX is already 1.5 games back, and will lose atleast 2 versus OKC, Denver, Utah, and SA.
Utah loses at least 1 to LA, OKC, or Phoenix.

It shaping up like Utah takes second, Dallas close behind at 3rd, and Denver and PHX fighting for 4th and 5th.

I guess the Blazers need to keep winning and find themselves in 6th place if Utah takes 2nd and we want to face the Mavs in the first round.

Thanks Jscot Jr.

If this is your last update, does that mean Jscot is feeling well enough to come back? And just because he comes back doesn’t mean you have to go.

I'm wondering if Blazer fans are the Zombie Apocalypse I've been hearing about.

Sir, I don’t want to be critical, because I’m young, but I’m disappointed and I just stopped enjoying it.

Mr Allen said the decision he made about Mr Penn was made with "good reason". No one knows what the reason, but people criticise him a lot here. It makes me angry.

Maybe I do not know what I am talking about, but people should not jump in and criticise him when they don’t even know why he did it. They think he must be wrong because they don’t understand why he did it. That seems very wrong to me. Even on the main articles, he has been criticised by people who don’t know what happened.

Perhaps Mr Penn did something really wrong, and Mr Pritchard didn’t handle it quite right, and Mr Allen has done the only thing he could. Perhaps Mr Allen has done wrong. Perhaps it is all Mr Miller’s fault. Perhaps someone else did wrong. Perhaps no one did wrong but it just wasn’t working any more. None of us know. It is wrong to criticise if you don’t know what happened.

I decided this was my last update before the poll today. That poll proves something is wrong here. Almost 50% answered that Mr Allen is being a fake fan. Mr Allen is a bigger fan than anyone who said he was faking it for the telly. Hundreds of millions of dollars prove it. He may not always make good decisions, but he is not a fake fan. A Blazers fan site should not even ask that question. But the question was asked, and half of the fans here had the nerve to say that he is a fake. How dare anyone say that? They are lying.

Sir, my father told me he respects you, and that is why I am answering you. But writing about it is just making me angry again, and it is wrong for me to be angry about a game. And that is the real reason I am quitting.

Father said I could do these if I really wanted to and was having fun, and if it didn’t take away from my studies. He doesn’t get angry like I do, so it is ok for him, but it is bad for me to continue right now. I’m sure he will be back when he is better. Perhaps I shall come back when I learn not to get angry at people saying things they shouldn’t say.

I shall still follow the Blazers. It isn’t their fault people are saying what they are saying. Their work against Dallas was well done.

I'm sorry to see that you're leaving us, Jscotjr, but I know how you feel.

I’ve had to take several Bedgecations for the very reasons you enumerate. But I do come back. Please give your father my best and tell him I’m acquiring a whole new arsenal of alliteration to use when he gets back.

I hope you return at some point

Your posts are interesting and intelligent. But I understand why you want to stop — if it’s not fun, why do it? There are too many people here who seem to get no joy out of being a fan. I just don’t get it.

(I also wish I could write as well as you do when I’m angry.)

I hope once tihs all has blown over you might find it fun to come back to BE, but your decision is admirable.

I appreciate your work, and wish your father a speedy recovery.

Blazers Edge is simply an intense microcosm of the human race.

Groups of people are always stupid, even if every member of that group can justify the position they take to themselves. Groups easily believe conspiracies. Groups easily turn their opinions. Groups can be easily led by someone who has their ear. That’s why politicians, despite everyone knowing exactly what they’re up to, can sway so many people.

Everyone knows what Canzano is. Everyone knows what Jason Quick is. Yet look how much sway they really do have. The world calls them idiots, while the crowds unintentionally crown them as kings. Our case today is just one example among millions in the history of the human race. If you’re disappointed in the people here (as you rightly should be) then don’t be surprised in a lifetime of disappointment.

There is a positive. Your father was very good at catching the ear of a lot of people when he posted. That may be the only requisite ability needed to take over the world. He’s off to a good start.

I'm wondering if Blazer fans are the Zombie Apocalypse I've been hearing about.

We'll miss you, just as we miss your pappy

Being a fan is tough sometimes, but time will heal whatever annoyances we might be going through right now.

Great work and good thoughts on everything, and all the best for your dad.

Love,

Thanks Jscotjr.

i completely understand where you are coming from. I took a vacation away from Morty, Tom, Ann, Corvid and your Dad before. Some people call them “The BEdge Axis of Evil”

Give your pops a punch on the shoulder for me when you see him.
