The Penn Plot Thickens...
Dwight Jaynes thinks the following quote from the "extended" Peter Vescey column (doesn't provided a link to that column) is a major bomshell, which Dwight views as credible:
"I'm told Penn threatened to expose Miller for doing something improper. For the time being, I'll leave it at that."
Dwight's smelling a major scandal here.
Maybe this is just the media blowing things way out of proportion. At least Dwight thinks this latest turn of events means that KP's situation, whether there's a problem there or not, isn't tied to what happened with Penn.
Nevertheless, I'm tired of all these negative off-court stories. Anyone else feel like the Blazers are becoming a soap opera again? Do other teams have these problems but we just don't hear about them?

Slightly off topic
I’m sick of Larry Miller.
I’ve thought, from day one, that he didn’t fit with Portland. I mean, he drives a Bentley to work. He seems so slimey to me and if he becomes our GM, we’re in trouble.
Witty Unpredictable Talent and Natural Game
that is a nice ride
he makes a really nice salary, so what?
All of these team presidents make fat bankrolls. I mean, the he is a rich guy argument will hold true for any of them.

He doesn't drive a Bentley because of his Blazer salary
the guy was a top Nike exec….

Yea, I'm not high on him as GM either.
I think that, more than anything, is what bothers me most about the latest story from AWoj & Vecsey. I just don’t think Miller is qualified to be doing anything on the basketball side of things. And I’ve never been impressed by him, so I see no reason to let him try his hand at new things when we could hire a proved commodity.

Did anyone who read the A-Woj article see some flags?
I kinda got the impression that a lot of the stuff he was saying was just speculation yesterday, and and now all of a sudden their facts. Now, as far as Dwight Jaynes goes, he’s respected and has been around the block for a while, so I’m very much inclined to believe him. But I think we should take anything anyone read in the Yahoo article with a grain of salt, or maybe a whole salt-shaker full.
Jaynes doesn't have the same kind of connections that he once did
He’s mainly just analyzing the same media reports that are available to all of us. While I’ve agreed with his “wait and see” approach, unfortuantly it doesn’t give us much insight. Hopefully things will be much clearer at 2pm.
Hard to believe?
1. Penn tries to blackmail Miller.
2. Miller fires Penn.
3. ???? No reason to keep quiet now, Penn. But I don’t hear anything.
Disclaimer: everything I know about basketball I learned on Blazersedge.
