Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

All Time Blazer Roster

Can only be 2 deep at every position. One starter, one sub. WHO YA GOT?

PG: Brandon Roy, Clyde Drexler

SG: Buck Williams, Jerryd Bayless

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, Maurice Lucas

SF: Nicolas Batum, Terry Porter

C: Arvydas Sabonis, Bill Walton

COACH: Dr. Jack Ramsay

AST. COACH: Nate McMillan

I'm not sure whether this should be in the junk drawer or not but there you go. Can you imagine the defensive intensity with McMillan AND Ramsay coaching? Teams would be lucky to score 70 on us. And Batum and Drexler playing together would be an absolute joy to watch.

I don't mean to be critical

but your positions are a little off. Also, it’s probably a little early for Batum and Bayless.

buck was a power forward, and porter was a point guard, but

pg: porter, blake
sg: drexler, roy
sf: batum, pippin
pf: rasheed, buck
c: sabas, walton

bench:
smitty, cliffy

really?

blake above stoudemire? maybe it was the ignorance of youth, but I thought Damon was a heck of a player.

i like his "fit"

plus, are we really scrapping for talent at that point?

Fair enough

I always interpreted it as more of two best at each position.

3 deep I'd go

PG Porter/Strickland/Stoudamire
SG Roy/Drexler/Petrovic or Vadeweigh
SF Pippen/Batum/Kersey
PF Buck/Sheed/Grant
C Sabonis/Walton/Oden

Bench: LMA, Lenny Wilkens, (injury exceptions…)

is this really necessary?

sure, I sometimes get annoyed with the amount of selfreferencing and talk about posters that goes on, but this does nothing to raise the bar, or make anything better. The lack of these type of comments is one of the things that makes BE great.

some of the best guys off of our bench

were Ainge, Petro, and Strickland….these guys never get mentioned in these types of lists.

I'm going on a Dave boycott until AK1984 is brought back.

If we are talking about players IN THEIR PRIME it's different.

In their prime and doesn’t matter which team as long as they were at some point a Blazer:

PG: Wilkens, Paxson
SG: Drexler, Roy
SF: Pippen, Petrović
PF: Kemp, Rasheed
C: Walton, Sabonis

With the Blazers:
PG: Paxson, Porter
SG: Drexler, Roy
SF: Kersey, Kiki
PF: Lucas, Rasheed
C: Walton, Sabonis (Duckworth came close)
6thMan: Cliff, Petrie

Coach: Adelman, Ramsay

that team would be so...good

I know the legend of some names there, but I did not see them playing, so could not make judgements.
but bayless is definitely a little early to tell.
and why roy is in PG position.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
