Fun stats of the day-- Nicolas Batum:
He's currently got the #1 True Shooting Percentage in the NBA.
So far this season, he's scored 222 points in 23 games.
Last season, he scored 426 points in 79 games.
That means, he's got 52% of last year's points having played in just 29% of the games.
He's been averaging 11.1 points in his last 10 games. At that rate, he'll have 377 points at the end of the regular season. That's 89% of last year's points while playing just 45% of his total games.
Not bad for a 25th pick's 2nd year of playing, especially after missing most of the year due to an injury. BAT88M!!!

Not bad at all
The NBA- so easy a Kaman can do it
Sigh
Seeing Oden in there at no.6 TS% with a higher rebounding rate than Dwight Howard just makes me sad.
Also---
After tonight’s win over the Raptors, Batum’s 3pt% is good for #4 in the NBA (among players who have attempted at least 73 3-pointers.
GP 3PM 3PA 3P%
Kyle Korver , UTA 36 45 78 57.7%
Mike Miller , WAS 36 50 101 49.5%
Daniel Gibson , CLE 51 69 144 47.9%
Nicolas Batum , POR 24 34 73 46.6%
Pretty sure it says his PER is 19.22
and I don’t even like PER.
You can measure skill and talent with your eyes, but productivity is shown through statistics.
#34 in the league
Batum with 19.22.
What’t not to like about the PER? It’s just a combination of stats. I mean, it’s an undeniable indicator of a player’s contributions. It’s not the only stat to take into consideration, and no, a player with a low PER doesn’t necessarily “suck”, but just take a look at the PER’s top 30— Just about every player on that list is an All-Star and a potential Hall of Famer. The fact that Batum is where he is is very encouraging, at the very least.
If a player averages a double-double, and 20 turnovers per game (almost impossible, but humor me), his PER will be terrible, and a team that allows that for a season, will undoubtedly be bound for a great position in the draft lottery.
Actually, I think I just convinced myself that the PER is pretty awesome!
