We are rising!
In looking at our schedule, I see that the Blazers (39-28) have 15 games left. Upon further inspection we have 7 games left against teams that have better records than the Blazers have. This leads me to think that if we beat the 8 teams that have worse records than we do and split the 7 games against teams with better records, that Blazers have a pretty good shot at 50 wins this season.
All that being said I think that we as fans (myself include) should get pretty excited about that record considering the plague of injuries that has befallen the Blazers this year. I feel that we are on the rise heading into the playoffs and generally good things happen to teams that are on the rise -playoff match-ups, confidence, individual player contributions, etc...
I for one am solidly behind this team as it makes it's final push and I hope that all my fellow Blazer fans will get behind them too. I have itpicked this team to death this year - coaching, player rotations and contributions, play style, etc.
I rally feel like Nate is trying very hard to carve out playing time to the players most deserving while giving Brandon, LaMarcus, and Andre the keys to the Franchise. Also, I have been very critical of Nate this year and want to commend him on the win last night! Not his fault when players miss shots. That was a very well coached game by him and really it could not come at a better time! Also, kudos to BRoy for busting his A$$ to get us a win last night and just playing through what must be and exteremely painful injury!
OK, that's my say. Please have yours!
BTW... you should not miss the Magic/Bird documetary on HBO. Absolutely fantastic!!!

Still on track for 50!
I posted a piece at ASternWarning Sunday laying out the path to 50. On point, it dictated a split with Denver and 6 of 8 wins against the Kings, Warriors and the three East teams at home. The loss to DEN is OK if Camby can get them the rematch in April. I’d sort of pencilled in losses to GSW on the road and TOR at home as the most likely of those eight, so last night either gave them a leg up on harder parts of the sched, or made an “extra” loss against one of the other chumps OK.
SO by my reckoning, last night was a solid step to 50. Getting the B2B tonight in Sacto would be more expected than last night, but still another buffer against future letdown.
could happen
and the L*kers may not be waiting there at #1 either, by the time the dust settles
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
And they should also swipe 1 or 2 of those games against the rest
50 sounds pretty reasonable to me
Also – Let it be know: Farmar is a ninny
Holding out for Hedo
Wait...ANDRE is one of the "keys to the franchise"?!?
As much as I love Dre, he’s a rent-a-PG, dude.

You should re-read what I said.
Everything I said was in the context of this year. There is always somebody ready to go negative. So yeah, in the context of this year, Andre is our franchise PG.
Ah, ok--but be aware that "franchise player" or "key to the franchise" usually means *long-term*
(Hence the “franchise player” designations during expansion drafts)
Going 10 & 4 the rest of the way
doesn’t sound like too much of stretch. Why not? I feel like the guys certainly have it in them.
50 is a reasonable and attainable goal...
…and I appreciate your positive attitude and support of the team!
GO BLAZERS!!!
47-50
That’s the range I see… I do feel like the sleeper is awakening… Broy may just have been saving himself afterall.
I love how everyone thinks that we are a great team
after a few wins against crappy teams. I agree that we could reach fifty wins but we have to start playing better than we are right now to do it.
we should have lost that game against GSW.
I’m thinking we loose one of the easy games and win three of the hard games.
that gives us 49 wins. I could see us getting hot and winning two more or cold and loosing two more. so 47-51 wins. Lets hope for the upper end of that.
I’m not getting to excited until we beat a few good teams in a row
49 is my gut feeling as well
no research, I just like the number (the ’77 team went 49-33)
We’ll find out if that gets them 6-7-8 at the end of this year. There’s no guarantee that L*A is still #1 when the music stops…even though that’s a solid way to bet
