Bulls are my secondary team, so this is particularly painful. I don’t even want to guess what time our game is going to start now, if there’s this much game time left, not to mention TNT’s shenanigans, our game is going to be running VERY late tonight.

I wish Comcast could also air this game
they usually also get to air ones on ESPN, but if a game is a blowout they usually go to the start of the next one. TNT sticks with it until the bitter end, then they have to give their highly paid studio guys time and then a few commercials.

Yeah, I hate that TNT won't let the Mike's do their thing.
I really hate the TNT announcers. Definitely going to be muting the tv and listening to Wheels tonight.

Mike and Mike are local announcers
It isn’t about TNT letting them do their own thing, they actually contract their own announcing teams (some of which do local games on other nights, I believe).
It’s pretty normal not to use local announcers, who are often barely disguised team marketers, for national broadcasts. The NBA likes their own marketers for national broadcasts. :)
Not really.
ESPN lets Comcast co-run their broadcast for the local fans, TNT does not. The Blazers, along with Comcast, are working on getting TNT to also let them co-broadcast. I know local announcers aren’t expected to be used on the National broadcast, but I feel like they should be able to run their own broadcast if they so wish.

Apparently TNT has a contract to broadcast at least 6 Blazer games a season.
If they decide to broadcast more than 6 games the Blazers can broadcast subsequent games using their own announcers. This is the 6th Blazer game TNT has broadcast.
