Second half key to the game

1. Score 1 more point than OKC.

I'd prefer a few more than that

But if that’s all we get, I’ll take it

Hmm.

Thunder are scrappy on D. Id like to see Lamarcus play like he did during the second half some more. I think Jeff Green read your post Jake.

On the radio they were talking about how Durant was arguing with Westbrook about something on a possesion where they scored. CANCER lol.

Jeff Green has some good games

He makes LA look like an awesome rebounder and is still an inefficient scorer in general, though.

They don't have anyone to match up to SG or SF scorers.

They use Kenyon Martion or Aaron Affalo.

And to top that, the Blazers are only 1-11 on three pointers! If they only had hit 2 or 3! That is kinda concerning though..

It’ll be a good time to pick up a win against the Thunder. This game is very important for playoff hopes.

It is obvious this isn’t the style he wants and the shots that he is taking are the same 15 foot of the screen or driving it…trade him now while his stock is still somewhat up for the most part

Rudy Love Affair

People on here always trash Lamarcas and Blake, but Rudy has been as disappointing this season as anybody on the team. Inconsistent shooting, careless passes, inability to beat his man off the dribble, and mediocre defense. When will the love affair end? Rudy and Outlaw for Caron Butler.

Agreed. And they can easily solve that in the next draft even when they don’t move up. Ekpe Udoh, Solomon Alabi, Greg Monroe, etc. all sitting in the mid of the first round. Plus cap space to additionally/alternatively acquire a Boozer or Lee if they want to and the owners let Presti. Or…shudder…Bosh.

by Norsktroll on Feb 9, 2010 9:32 PM PST up reply actions

i hope they go after boozer and/or lee. who plays center for that team?

Scary? They're a bad offensive team. Durant is surrounded by inefficient scorers.

Kudos for their defensive effort, but they have to try in order to be an above .500 team. We still don’t know if this is a franchise willing to spend money, so solving their lack of an offensive big man might never happen.

I take the Thunder approach of surrounding Durant with defenders over the Cavs approach of surrounding James with shooters…and picking guys who are 2 years away from being 2 years away in the draft.

by Norsktroll on Feb 9, 2010 9:33 PM PST up reply actions

That works well if you're content with maxing out at 50 wins.

When Thabo Sefolosha and Jeff Green are in your starting lineup, things aren’t going to turn out so well come playoff time. Unless Durant is going to reach LeBron/MJ levels of brilliance they need another scorer.

They would have been better off with Tyreke over Harden, but I like their direction quite a lot. Unfortunately, though I do like to watch them.

hard to hate OKC

they did it the right way – built from the ground up with smart drafting and good trades. their guys all seem high character good players. what’s not to like?

it's called jealousy

we were the same last year. We were supposed to be doing great things this year. Now we have to watch as they get all the attention for being the “up-and-coming team with the best looking future.”

Not too fond of the move Bennet/Stern pulled on Seattle, for starters...

You cannot give a sports fan a hard time for hating that.

I'm conflicted

I like a lot of the players, but I think the owners are… um… things I can’t say on BE.

That leaves me pretty neutral on whether the team wins or loses, but I hope the owners lose their shirts and have to sell.

Still on the Rex bandwagon.

Well i guess you can see why these guys are role players

they can only do so much for so long but what are you going to do…but it makes you think how deep this bench is and then you think hmmmm the future is bright but i am tired of thinking about the future i want it now!!!!

Ouch.

That was too bad. I really wanted to win this game.

That being said, this team is decimated. We’ve won some good games, and that’s great, but it just can’t happen every night. I’m still very happy with how the team is playing, in general.

As badly as we were shooting, we were still in this game up until the end. Bad shooting nights happen. I much prefer that to nights where our defense isn’t there.

Still on the Rex bandwagon.

Brandan Haywood is not worth trading any young piece...

he would be a 25 game rental.. and the Wiz want either Rudy or Batum… I’m not adverse to trading Bayless to be honest..

Not so much Oden.

But Blazers need Roy and one Center. Can’t compete in the NBA without a legitimate center. Blazers have done well enough to stay afloat, but it’s catching up to them.

Oden shouldn’t be given this much credit.

They’re still kinda pretenders this year but they’re better. GO would of had a field day in this game, though.

GG guys.

I don’t really consider this a true match, considering the obvious injuries. I’m excited to see if we can still handle you after everyone’s healthy. I think just about everybody here could get pumped about an Oden vs Durant playoff series. To making it happen in 2011, cheers.

by sammy on Feb 9, 2010 9:30 PM PST reply actions

good game. I don’t think either team played above “absolute crap,” but they tried. I hope we get the opportunity against you in a series, it’d definitely be fun.

Well tough loss...too bad.

I would of thought the Blazers would have brought there A game, (in both of the last two games), but instead they show everyone why we won’t make the playoffs with out a healthy Roy.

I’ve been getting really disappointed in this lately, but I think that because they’ve played so well earlier in the season. I hope we can still make the playoffs, but I do not want that eight seed, I don’t wanna see LA first round.

I just hope Roy really does come back after the allstar break, and I hope the team can get it together and go on a 10 – 15 game tear…wishful thinking..

by 01B5S4 on Feb 9, 2010 9:35 PM PST reply actions

It's been a tough season

but from what I’ve seen on here, you guys are being way too easy on the Blazers. Injuries or no, they laid down at the beginning of the fourth quarter. It feels like they are finally mentally exhausted and no don’t have the fight in them they had a month ago. Up by a point, playing a team with whom they are going to have to battle to make the playoffs, no Durant in the game, and what happens? They let a guy who has scored the last several baskets for the Thunder get open 3’s and make an uncontested dunk. On offense, as usual when things are going badly, nobody wants to shoot or drive, and we end up with last second flings at the basket and some of the worst turnovers I’ve seen this year. Instead of stepping up with Roy out, they seem to have regressed back to waiting for him to “save” them, which is hard to do from the bench.

What a bizarre year. I’ve been as proud of this team after some games as I’ve been in 25 years as a Blazer fan (and they weren’t all wins), and after other games, I’ve been as disgusted as I’ve ever been in 25 years. Unfortunately, this game goes in the second category.
