LmA Best FG% at rim for PF's
Canus Hoopus was discussing this stat for Kevin Love (after reading Truehoop w/ respect to Glen Davis). So I figured I'd check out LmA. Turns out he's #1 w/ Juwan a close #2.

weird
I’m not sure I should look into this stat too much. But it kind of is encouraging to know that he does indeed have a nice touch around the rim if indeed he wants to turn into that type of a player.
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
our team takes more risks on jumpers
than we do in the lane, when does lamarcus take difficult shots at the rim? and when does he take challenging shots from farther out
he is only at the rim when its wide open for a dunk. this totally makes sense.
watching amar’e play today, I was thinking that could be lma, all he does is try to throw it down with guys around. Of course nash does set him up nicely sometimes but still he goes balls to the wall at the rim.
It's basically our bailout shot this year though.
He’s money when he get’s a good look. Not so much when he gets it thrown to him with 2 seconds left on the shot clock.

Our offense does a lot of pick and pops so that Roy can drive and if the defense collapses that leaves LMA for an open jumper.
I think one reason he doesn’t roll on the pick and roll is so the lane is left open for Roy’s penetration. That explains (at least one aspect of) why he shoots so many jumpers
"Rudy is not everyday a shooter," Fernandez said. "He's defense. He's passes. He's assists."
I guess, but watching the games (I've seen almost every one this year), I can't help noticing how often Roy or a PG (esp Dre) gets through the pick and looks for a rolling LMA--
but LMA’s still floating, unguarded, at 18-21 feet.
And his make % at that distance is not impressive.
I love LMA, but his lines far too often feature an equal number of points and FGAs. That doesn’t rule from a 6’11" PF with his remarkable physical gifts. If he could shoot like Dirk, it’d be a different story.
But. He. Can’t.
