The Dontonio Wingcast Episode 020

Basketball Prospectus's Kevin Pelton and I are back with a brand-new episode of The Dontonio Wingcast.  In this extended-play 63 minute episode taped Monday afternoon, we discuss..

  • The Blazers recent loss to the Utah Jazz. Blame Nate? Who is playing shy and who is playing flippant? Some Shake talk. Questions about the rotations. What got overlooked in some of the write-ups?
  • The Marcus Camby Acquisition. What's Nate's take? How does that compare with management's take? Is this another Andre Miller? Grading the trade and Camby's play so far.  Just a rental?
  • Brandon Roy's health and the situation around his decision to play.
  • A look back at the trade deadline. Winners and losers. Future championship contenders.

You can subscribe to our iTunes feed or stream/download the mp3 here: Download The Dontonio Wingcast 020. The mp3 is 60 megabytes.

Sorry for the nasally voice... was battling a slight cold this past weekend.

PS For some bonus audio check out the podcast (Hour 3) from this morning's chat with the Morning Sports Page. We briefly talk Camby, Roy's health, playoff chances and more.

Hmmm ... or as Ben might say

(crickets)

But seriously, I do listen to these podcasts when I seem ’em and when I find the time. I would suggest that you compress them a bit. This one, at ~60 MB, is large enough to deter some otherwise interested folks from downloading.

Do you think that the Blazers are internally engaged in debating Nate’s rotations?

Nice controversial comment re: Nate and the Camby trade on the MSP this AM

I finally got to listen to the podcast. So…McMillian was just as disappointed to part with Blake/Outlaw as he was excited to get Marcus? I heard you say you’re “not trying to stir things up” by that comment…uh huh, yeah surrre.

Fortunately, Camby only rolled his ankle and didn’t blow out his ACL like Josh Howard did for the Wiz this week. Talk about turning an already-bad trade into an epic fail in less than a week! If there’s a team more snakebit lately than Portland, it’s Washington

When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

So, KP2 gives a higher trade grade?

The Camby trade gets an “A” from KP2 and only “A-” from Ben? Interesting…..
