Wall and Cousins vs. Conley and Oden!
March Madness is coming soon (soon as in a little under a month) and I've been hearing a lot about this John Wall kid. So it got me thinking....Who would you rather have on your team: John Wall and Demarcus Cousins from Kentucky or Mike Conley Jr. and Greg oden from 2007 Ohio State team? On the one hand, you have a point guard with the potential to be one of the greatest of all time. On the other hand, you have a center with the potential to be one of the greatest centers of all time (even though he has been injured many times.)
It's an interesting debate. I personally would love to see a match-up between the 2007 Ohio State team and the current Kentucky team. What do you guys think?

I would have taken Oden before he broke his knee cap.
Now it’s probably Wall.

In some fantasy land where Greg Oden played more than half the games,
I’d take Oden
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
The problem with fantasies is that it doesn't last long....
Every glimpse we get of Oden gives a new thought of where he could be. Meeting the fantasy with reality is the challenge for Greg. Hopefully he is ready to go for a long run next time around.
that's a good vid.
Man! Wall can sky! He’s like Lebron James at the point! It will be fun to see him and Tyreke going at it for the next decade.
im thinking more like drose
with better passing skills. he has the whole package. ridiculous athleticism, strength, a decent and developing shot, good defense, and smarts.
i’d give up oden for this kid.
That's probably a better comparison.
Giving up Oden though? I wouldn’t do it. Until I am 100% sure that Oden will not be able to play anymore, I wouldn’t move the dude. A skilled big man like Oden is rare in the NBA. Oden gives a shot at the championship while Wall gets us a home court advantage each year.
That's a valid one
I love how Wall plays – he doesn’t try to be everyone’s friend out there, he’s coming for blood. He reminds me of Chris Paul in that sense. If Jay Z and the billionaire can put LeBron, Wall, and Brook Lopez together that is a dynasty.

Cousins is the kicker on this one
The main problem here is that the 2 Ohio State guys have shown they can get it done at the NBA level, while the Kentucky guys are untested.
With Wall you have an elite PG, and Oden an elite C, so they pretty much cancel each other out. While Conley is decent, he’s not tearing up the NBA by any means. Cousins, while he has some maturity issues, is 6’11", strong, with good hands and nice touch and feel around the hoop. Some are projecting him to go Top 5 in the NBA Draft this year.
So because Cousins looks like more of a baller than Conley, I’ll take the Kentucky kids.

Cousins does look great
That being said, every time I see UK play, I see multiple examples of his immaturity. The kid will be lucky to be the next Derrick Coleman. That said, comeone will take a chance in the Top 5, it just won’t work out long term.
