So...

Do we blame the team…or Nate, for not having them prepared? Not judging, just starting a discussion.

Does it matter? One game against the champs

with our all-star playing on one leg.

We played like crap.

Doesn’t matter who we played against we would have lost.

Well, we probably would’ve beat the Nets, but…

It does matter...

They looked just as disinterested when they played the Lakers…and who are the “champs”. The Celtics? They are hardly at the level they were during their championship year.

Just looking at it from a management percpective.

I’m not “throwing” blame. I’m just curious as to what people think the issue is? I wouldn’t be too concerned, except for the fact that I have seen the same disinterested team more than once lately.

I see a team not even close to a playoff team. No time to work it out, they have to get games like this at home. They did not even begin to match the energy of Boston. Roy is definately not working well with the rest of the team right now.

I have no idea why

the team played such uninspired, listless basketball. They always seem to do the opposite of what I expect. They certainly didn’t seem energized by the Camby addition in the least.

bumhole of a coach and the slow as a turtle tempo that we play!

The tempo actually works quite well when the player execute.

It may work against some teams but not against good defensive teams like the Boston’s in the NBA. All this slow tempo does is allow great defensive teams to get set, rotate, and force us to shoot jumpers all game.

Love to hear Nate's reasoning for benching Camby in the 2nd half.

Not that it makes a difference in this game, but why why why?

Also Nate sticking with Webster to guard Allen when you could tell he couldn’t keep up in the 1st quarter.

Coaching staff had no idea how to guard Rondo.

This game is on the players, but another disappointing schema from the coaching staff.

blazers were so bland today

i missed the 1st quarter but watching the rest of game I was like man where’s the Energy the only time u saw signs of life was when Rudy started off like the energy bunny running around eratically stealing the ball but that later dwindled as the he was called for his 2nd offensive & his shots didnt count.
Only Bayless was great from beginning to end the rest of the team were just Not there.

jim mora sr. can sum up this game (replace nfl with nba)
Well, I’ll start off by saying this: do not blame that game on the defense, OK? I don’t care who you play — whether it’s a high school team, a junior college team, a college team — much less an NFL team. When you turn the ball over five times — four interceptions, one for a touchdown, three others in field position to set up touchdowns — you ain’t going to beat anybody I just talked about. Anybody. All right? And that was a disgraceful performance in my opinion. We threw that game. We gave it away by doing that. We gave them the friggin’ game. In my opinion, that sucked. Ah. You know? You can’t turn the ball over five times like that. Holy crap! I don’t know who the hell we think we are when we do something like that. Unbelievable. Five turnovers. One of them for — We’ve thrown four interceptions for touchdowns this year. That might be an NFL record! And we’ve still got six games left, so there’s no telling how many we’ll have. That’s pitiful! I mean, it’s absolutely pitiful to perform like that. Pitiful!

by Rudy4three on Feb 19, 2010 10:58 PM PST reply actions

We need more than Batum. Roy and Webster are so inconsistent defensively. Rudy and Andre

are just inept defenders. Bayless may have some potential. Overall though, I keep waiting for the team defense to improve and it never does. We are constantly switching into precarious positions where guards are forced to defend bigs, and bigs are defending PGs on the perimeter.

It’s ridiculous. And when that’s not happening, our guards are just getting blown by.

With Martel off on his shot, not to mention the rest of the bench,

the game circling the drain, the team in meltdown, we could have given Patty a shot, or two, literally. Some points would have been nice, regardless if he could play point. He is supposed to be a shooter.
Boston was playing well, so we needed to be the good Blazers. Not this time, not a disaster. One thing we know, as they say when investing “past performance is no guarantee of future performance”. You have to tune in.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
