blazers practice report (with video)
"Camby will start for the Blazers on Friday against Boston, McMillan said. The 14-year veteran's knowledge of Portland's offensive sets and plays should ease the transition.
In addition, Camby was vocal during practice, motivating players and calling out reads.
"He'll be at the high post mainly, and just making reads," McMillan said. "And I think that's what NBA basketball is all about. Everybody's running pretty much the same stuff."
Camby was upbeat following practice, and engaged in long media session afterward.
He praised the Blazers' organization, while stating that Portland has a good mix of talented, young players and impressive veterans.
"Hopefully this trade can work out for myself and, more importantly, the team," Camby said."
This is from the team twitter:

Sounds like Nate has a new crush.
He’s probably looking to make Camby his rebound after mourning Blake.

I know the Blazers won't have Roy, but I really think this team is poised for a nice run.
The team has been actually pretty solid in Brandon’s absence, but have at times been just killed on the boards and by the lack of an intimidating defensive presence down low. Camby is going to make a dramatic difference in that area. 2nd chance points by the opposition should go way down, which is vital: How many times recently have you seen the Blazers play some inspired defense and force a tough shot, only to see the other team get the offensive board and the follow? This is going to change drastically with Camby.
I am particularly excited to see this lineup: Batum/Cunningham/Camby/Bayless/Rudy. Not sure that’s a great offensive lineup, but on the defensive end, wow! (And yes, I realize that Rudy is not a good 1-on-1 defender, but with the other four in there he can gamble all he wants.)
Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.

I thought Brandon was starting tomorrow.
That’s what the article said, anyway. I think he can manage this injury for the rest of the season and post-season. If JB and/or Rudy can be consistent scoring threats in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, Brandon could get enough rest to be effective when he’s need most.

the thing i wanna know about practice
more than Camby is, how did Roy look? did he play full speed? did he look in pain?……to what extent? it seems theres no coverage of this. that should be a good thing, but ya never know.
Another Juwan type.
Good.

Except Marcus is bigger, more athletic, and can
rebound and protect the paint better than Juwan.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
Yeah, there’s that part.
But attitude wise, I’m loving this move already.

Man he looks tall, and long in that video.
I wonder what his measurements are? I know he’s 6’11".
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
There were some ugly-looking "jump shots" in that video
but they were going in, and that’s all that matters
when I think of #21, I think of Sidney Wicks. But the “overhead Cam” is the anti-Sid
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
no kidding
Jeff, Juwan, and Marcus have probably 3 of the top 5 ugliest jump shots in the NBA.
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

I was thinking of that to
But I struggle even labeling that a jump shot
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
Yeah, don't you have to get off the ground to take a "jump" shot?
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
That right there
is an old school set shot.
I think it’s clear where he got the knickname ‘Penguin.’
It wasn't the first time I'd been kicked in the cherries and called a rat by a woman, but it was the first time I didn't mind.
Przybilla's free throw shot is right up there.
Let’s not forget about DeAndre Jordan either.

Boozer free throw motion
Nothing uglier that seeing Carlos do his 3 or 4 pelvic humps before shooting a FT…gross
Is this our Buck Williams move?
Please God let it be so. This team has missed having a nasty grizzled vet. This season could still be magic.
I love the smell of a good trade in the morning. It smells like…victory.
