Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Are the Blazers being sneaky?

  1. Get Camby for the stretch drive?
  2. Get Oden back and in shape toward the end of the year?
  3. Have both Oden and Camby ready at playoff time?
  4. Surprise!
  5. Win a series or two?

Sorry

I got to thinking about it and got a little too excited. Mums the word. I might do a little dancing though if Oden does manage to get back in shape. What a season!

nah, Oden aint comin back this season.

even though his timetable places his comeback before the end of the regular season.

Why not?

If he’s ready to play, he needs to be on the court. If the patella is healed and Greg’s in good enough shape to give us 15-20 mpg, it would be monumental for our post-season hopes.

Of course, this was KP's plan all along.

You will all see soon enough.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

Greg isn't really injured at all

We decided the league shouldn’t have too many chances to figure out how to stop him, so pulled a fake injury.

The team practices with him when in Portland at 2 a.m., when no one is around.

He’ll come back a week before the end of the season, because it would be too suspicious if he didn’t come back until the playoffs. He’ll only play 10 minutes the first couple of games, but by the playoffs, he’ll be playing 30 mpg, averaging 30/18/7.

Now the whole league knows!

I thought the Blazers Edge faithful could keep KP’s diabolical plan under wraps?

I have special powers

so only Blazer fans can read my comments as written.

Non-Blazer fans think that is a comment weeping about Greg’s and Brandon’s injuries.

OK

You had me worried for a little bit. I hope you will maintain your integrity by refusing to use your special powers on Blazers Edgers. Note: I wear special glasses while I am reading BE in order to protect myself from any brainwashing tricks.

If (HUGE IF)

Greg comes back, we could basically be at full strength in the playoffs. Camby would be playing instead of Joel and even though we traded Blake and Outlaw, the rotation is made smaller in the playoffs anyway.

I can only dream…

PS: Only bring Greg back if everyone is 100% certain he is ok and not at risk of being injured due to coming back to early.

Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!

Most people have not been thinking of things this way, but it could happen. All of a sudden we look like an actual threat to upset some people’s apple carts. How would that be for an ending to this surprising season?

Hollywood couldn't write that stuff.

And yeah, if we get a favorable matchup in the playoffs, we could definitely win a round, and then who knows.

We are 7-0 against San Antonio, Phoenix, and Dallas (4-0 on road).

Dallas seems like the most likely matchup based on the standings, and even though we wouldn’t have homecourt advantage, we have already won twice in Dallas.

Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!

Um, we'd be a bit more scary too

We would have Roy back (he didnt play in the 2nd game and wasnt 100% in the 1st game), Camby, and possibly Greg.

Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!

Being a Blazer fan is not exactly healthy.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
