Quick just said Rudy will start tonight

Nate doesn’t want to start both of his PGs (Miller-Bayless) together. That tells us Nate doesn’t regard Rudy as a PG

Blake told Nate that Camby was the perfect fit for Portland. Class act, I think he’ll be back if KP wants him

Rudy isn't a PG

"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely

by skywaker9 on Feb 16, 2010 6:21 PM PST up reply actions

I agree

but there are some who would say the same about Bayless…and others think that Roy-Rudy is a viable starting backcourt. But this decision signals that Jerryd has taken a step ahead of Rudy this season; Fernandez will have step his game up to get more PT than Rex as their Blazer careers continue

When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

by two4larue on Feb 16, 2010 6:26 PM PST up reply actions

I dont think it means that at all...

I think it means that he trusts Jerryd to bring the ball up the court and set up the offense more than Rudy. Rudy and Roy could defiitely be a viable backcourt someday, but he isnt experienced enough to handle bringing the ball up the floor and set up the offense. He has rarely been asked to do that. Plus he is a good fit next to Miller, and Rex is better off the bench while Roy is out. I doubt it is any indication as to who is ahead in the rotation when Roy gets back…

RUDY > MJ
Thank you KP

by Rudiculous on Feb 16, 2010 6:32 PM PST up reply actions

Well it looks like Roy is back

So now we will be able to see who is ahead of who in the rotation. I think this is a better matchup for Bayless considering Gordan usually plays big minutes…

RUDY > MJ
Thank you KP

by Rudiculous on Feb 16, 2010 6:35 PM PST up reply actions

we'll see

Roy is back, and he’ll (eventually) play more minutes than Miller

That means Andre’s “backup” should get more PT…according to Nate that’s #4

When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

by two4larue on Feb 16, 2010 6:35 PM PST up reply actions

I think Bayless is probably ahead of Rudy as well

I just didnt think that Rudy starting was proof of that. Neither player has been playing well, Rudy probably the worst of the two. Either player gets their game back on track and they will be the 3rd guard IMO…

His game has changed and, though he’s not a true 7 footer, he plays more like center these days. LOTS of blocks and rebounds, which is exactly what we need. I guess, compared to Greg and Joel, Camby is more of a PF, but compared to Juwan and Pendergraph…
