Valentines Junk 02/14/10
So tonight I was thinking about how lame the all star weekend has been when BOOM! Out of the blue I got a massive craving for Summer and realized just how awesome last summer was for me. I worked a ton but my job was challenging, entertaining, and satisfying. I hung out with friends and family whenever I wasn't working, enjoyed the weather, went and saw some really fun shows, and ate a ton of delicious food. It was fantastic in every sense of the word.
My question: What is your favorite season and why? Cool Memories? Old friends? Good food? The weather? Sports?
Go.
Oh yeah for those of you who are in a relationship... Good luck with that today. ;)

Fun little Olympics story: Greece is entering the Guiness Book of Records for sending the first father-daughter team
Panagiota Tsakiri (photo) competes in the women’s biathlon with her father Athanassios coaching, then they reverse roles for the men’s events. They are the only qualified Greek biathletes, training on a shooting range in their garden and the parking lot of a supermarket on roller skis at night in the offseason or when they can’t afford traveling to world cup or IBU cup (second league) events. Her father also became the flag bearer for Greece during the opening ceremony. Nice.
I figured it out!
Is it really Valentines day? I’m not currently in a relationship so I didn’t remember.

i’m great!! have a full day of valentine’s day fun planned for today!! :) how about you? plans with the lady? is this your first valentine’s day with a s.o.? i was with my hs bf during valentine’s day of 2008.. but he wasn’t particularly romantic or even thoughtful about that sort of thing..

ahh she's out of town, so we're doing valentines day next weekend
we did do breakfast at shari’s and i bought her some roses before she left, but that wasn’t a legit valentine’s date ;-)
Yup, first Vday with a s/o…..kinda’ fun, but I hate manufactured holidays. I am more of a spontaneous gift giver, so I hate having to buy stuff just because it’s a holiday, but w/e.
So what else you got goin’ on today? Besides the Orange?
aaaw that's still sweet!
hope your delayed Valentine’s day celebration goes even better! :)
i hate manufactured holidays too.. but i do like excuses to spend more time with the one i care about.. so can’t complain all that much..
after the Orange continue their path to the number 1 seed.. we go out to eat (ethiopian! my new fav) and then i am taking her to see this guy play.. she loves jazz pianoy stuff.. and after that.. well.. hopefully the night will not be too young ;)

I think the Blazers should trade Blake for Drew Gooden’s beard. Or Matt Carroll. According to Hollinger neither deal wouldn’t make us better or worse, which shows you how useless his automated trade analysis is.
NBA Today podcast as Matt Carroll's contract as one of the top 5 worst in the NBA
Sasha’s on the list too.
Do doubt about that, though it’s better than Diop’s who the Mavs traded for him and who will be forever grateful to Mark Cuban for enabling him to send his grand kids to college. And their grand kids.
Diop is owed a remaining 26 million, and has made like 40+ million over his career. He has recorded 10 points in 4 games in his career. That’s his max. He has recorded 10 rebounds or more in 20 games in his career, with a best of 16. He has recorded 5 blocks or more in 13 games in his career, with a best of 6.
HOW DOES THIS MAN MAKE THAT MUCH MONEY??? And why am I not 7 feet tall.
No. I only listen to Simmons and Dave/Ben and occasionally to the FreeDarko cast or whatever I see linked. I have too many tech and business podcasts to listen to, and a few comedy and one gaming for entertainment.
What comedy ones?
I listen to the same sports ones as you except FreeDarko and I listen to most DP Shows. I’m subscribed to The Adam Carolla Podcast but only listen to it about twice a month.
Nothing special or really pure comedy. Two that are not in English, one is basically funny travel stories. You Look Nice Today is intelligent-funny and unusual (they must do a lot of post production/editing). Sarcastic Gamer combines game reviews with some comedy elements and just good chemistry between the hosts who are good people except two of the hosts are Rockets fans ;). Nobody Likes Onions is edgy and definitely NSFBE, I listened to that a lot maybe two or three years ago but now only occasionally, they have so much output that I don’t know when they record all that since I couldn’t possibly keep track. Some that combine tech with funny elements.
I subscribed to that dude from the British The Office
But he only had like 2 podcasts. I’ve been looking for ones that I can listen to that aren’t dated. DP Show makes me laugh more than any other podcast. I even got a coworker listening to it.
For funsies I just did a search for Diop’s career stats in points (over 1000), rebounds (over 2000), blocks (over 500), and PER (over 10). On that list, he is #96 all time. He still has a chance to catch Michael Olowokandi if the Bobcats use him in a few games while they pay him. Joel is #78 on that list. And he plays much better defense.
Potential ;)

seriously
while it would often suck to be 7 feet tall, the increased ability to make millions of dollars while still being relatively unathletic would be a definite plus.
Being that tall and coordinated enuff to run up and down a court and catch a ball doesn't happen that often
So even a guy like Diop, who can hardly do any of it but seems nice enough, can get paid so much. Crazy.

The NBA does not yet have the Mavs - Wizards deal in its official transaction archive, but both teams issued press releases that they have completed the deal
http://www.nba.com/wizards/news/trade_100213.html
Wizards fans hate it http://www.bulletsforever.com/2010/2/13/1309506/2010/2/13/1309506/its-official-wizards-mavericks
Mavs fans and other fans love it.
Butler was “originally acquired by the team along with Chucky Atkins from the L.A. Lakers in exchange for Kwame Brown and LaRon Profit prior to the 2005-06 season”. I completely managed to push that out of my memory. Imagine Kobe and Caron and Odom still playing as the wings on the Lakers all those years. Does Boston win a title?
I don’t think Boston could have lost that year. Then again, if Kobe, Caron, and Odom were all playing together, Boston might have gotten the first pick in the 2007 draft and taken KD like Bill Simmons wanted them to.
A positive attitude will not solve all of your problems but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort - Herm Albright
Keep the faith.
Kwame turned into Pau
Before Kwame turned into Pau, it was a HORRIBLE trade for the Lakers because not only did they give away a future allstar in Caron, they opted to pay Kwame about 9 million a year.
Kobe and Caron and Odom needs one of ’em, any of ’em, and their contract traded for Pau because the Lakers took off once they got him.
#52
I tweeted two days or so ago that I think the Blazers front office wished they had Darius Miles’ $9 million expiring contract right now, with all those deals that could go down. Miles + one of our young wings + a pick and cash would have been an attractive offer for either Haywood or Butler. Remember that the Wiz reportedly wanted Rudy and Nic for Haywood? Where did that go? I like Josh more than most fans here, but he is going on 30 and has ankle issues. Gooden is Gooden. The rest are nice pieces but nothing to write home about.
Especially considering we had to pay him anyways and insurance didn't cover it
We got jobbed… Miles sure is still playing and will for a long time, huh.
#52
I mean, we carried Diogu/Shav/Ruffin and Mills at the end of our bench not playing the last two seasons. How much worse could Darius have been? They could also have suspended him with pay for at least one year and sent him home asking him to stay away from the team, like the Pacers did with Tinsley and the Knicks with Marbury.
In retrospect that might have been a bigger and avoidable blunder by the organization than any draft day decision. It was known back when they filed for medical retirement that teams would want to have some cap space in 2010 for Wade/LeBron/Bosh. They became a little greedy wanting to instantly clear that cap space.
Shaq in his prime
Would have dominated in any situation.

Obviously he isn't as dominant as Shaq was
But he’s more versatile on offense and a better passer, so I agree… though Shaq wasn’t a bad passer either.
#52
Shaq was a pretty darn good passer.
But Pau’s speed, versatility, passing, outside shot, free throw shooting, and overall BBIQ beats Shaq even if Shaq’s dominance in the post is unmatched in this century. Pau’s intelligence on the court still can improve his teammate’s game as much or more than Shaq’s dominance could.

Interesting detail: Despite earlier different reports from ESPN & Co., it looks like the Wizards can’t trade at least Crittenton at the moment because he could not “render services”. But in turn the NBA agreed that neither counts against the roster limit, so the Wizards can now take 2 more players back although they have 14 under guaranteed contract. Odd.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Mavs take out the Lakers
This makes it a little more likely, but I still don’t think it’ll happen.

her lil sis is in junior high...games are FRUSTRATING
because I could coach that team way better. Their offense is very post-oriented, but their ball handler isn’t the best, so she often gets trapped up top and has no where to go because the wings are down screening for the posts to get open…so she’s up top all alone and there’s four people down on the baseline. The other team will steal the ball from her and then just take it all the way for the layin.
They need to have two wings out on the perimiter helping her and tell the two bigs that they need to come up to help if the ball handler gets trapped. Then they have 4 options instead of zero.
But yeah, it’s fun. My GF’s parents just bought a sweet camera with telephoto, so I have fun make believing I’m Dougall, snapping all kinds of cool action shots.
i wonder how it would be to coach jr. hs girls bball..
id figure it would be frustrating.. but why would you play a post game? i’d be teaching these girls how to use picks to get in the lane – no one is going to be long and coordinated enough to defend the paint..

i could do 5 12hr shifts maybe one week out of the month if i had to
but doing it all the time would be crazy. especially in something stressful like the medical field. It’s hard enough to sit in front of a computer for 12 hours…can’t imagine doing medical stuff for 12 straight hours 5 days out of 7.
yeah..
maybe if it was all rotations and consults it’d be do-able.. but she’s assisting on surgeries almost every day! and we’re talking orthopedic surgeries too.. complex stuff.. i am glad she’s such a dynamo or i’d be fearful.. but i can’t believe that schedules like this are the norm in a field like this.. even 4 12 hour shifts would be a lot!

I've decided to become irrational about a player.
With so many people dogmatically hating Steve Blake, I’m going to take the opposite tack. I will now lobby incessantly for Steve Blake to be a Blazer forever. Start Steve Blake!
Sign Steve Blake to a long term contract now!
I will change this only once Jarrett Jack becomes a Blazer again.
Jack is really the ideal PG for this team.
Sign Steve Blake to a long term contract now!
Cool, then I take the opposite approach: Steve Blake is a dead horse, and as the natives used to say Nate has to stop giving it the spurs and dismount.
Steve Blake is a troll.
He keeps doing the same annoying stuff over and over again no matter how much I ask him to stop.
Batum brings the doom.

Unlike the past two years where we made small deals at the deadline, we have no parts that it makes sense to dump for trade exemptions.
This team has no deadweight useless guys on the roster, no Digou, etc.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
I do see a potential crisis looming tho (on down the trail that is)
with a team as deep as Portland, if everybody isn’t on the same page about sacrificing minutes for the team, some guys may want out. I’m not naming names, but with the emergence of our youngens, and overlapping roles, I worry.

I think Rudy may be gone next year
And honestly given everything I’d take Webby and Batum over Rudy.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
I'll name a name
Rudy. The guy has starter talent, but unfortunately for him, he plays behind an elite 2 guard, is too small to play 3, and does not have the handle (yet) to play the point. Best case he works like a madman on his dribbling and becomes a viable PG, otherwise I see him being moved. Our system doesn’t really fit his game either, but that’s a gripe for another day.

NASCAR fails again
The hole they spent 2 hours fixing, its open again, so they stopped the race. Folks booing, can’t blame ’em.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
is this equivalent to a hole in a basketball floor or a flat ball?
"In Batum's case he must realize he is very likely the first Blazer to successfully fight over a pick all season..."
-Ben
Closer to the time a game at the old MC was delayed 2.5 hours
Because the ice under the floor melted and leaked onto the court.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
but I'm saying that the track surface is integral to the ability to race
at no point should it go unmaintained or require that long to fix. The ice in a combined arena is different because it’s related to a different sport.
"In Batum's case he must realize he is very likely the first Blazer to successfully fight over a pick all season..."
-Ben
Fair enough
And of course with cars going that fast the surface needs to be perfect, or nearly so to make it safe.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
exactly
which is why I likened it to a broken floor or flat ball or maybe even a crooked hoop.

Btw no wonder it cracked

The 2½-mile, high-banked superspeedway was last paved in 1978 and is scheduled for $20 million repaving in 2012. But officials said it could be moved up if necessary.

"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
I like to think of it as a 5/3/1 or 5/2/1 system
When you really think about it though, all medal counts are dumb. For example, in the Summer Olympics, if you go by a normal medal count, you are essentially saying (among other things) that swimming is 15 times more important than basketball and the pommel horse gold medal is as important as the team event or the all-around in gymnastics.
To really rank the countries, you’d have to normalize by the number of medals in each sport, weight medals by importance somehow, and adjust for population and gdp.

Is because we do very well in sports with a lot of events.

I think you would need to adjust the medal count for time also
How fair is it that a marathon runner just gets one medal for hours of work….while a sprinter gets one for just a few seconds?…maybe create an “adjusted Medal per minute” (or AM-PM for short).

I missed that. I’ve liked him for a few years now because he refuses to play by the rules. He has a good sense of humor and that always works for me.

The figure skating world must be really uptight
Catching all sorts of flack from REAL ATHLETES that they can’t even acknowledge that there’s a show bizzy side to it all.
I heard on the radio
That SI interviewed him and asked him about 20 different ways if he was gay and he wouldn’t answer and he kept asking the interview if he asks other athletes those questions.

A good descripton of how the Biathlon turned out (which since it has aired already on NBC is no longer a spoiler)
Vincent Jay of France won the event, ahead of Emil Hegle Svendsen of and Jakov Fak of Croatia. They were all among the first 10 starters, before the snow began to cause problems.
Bjorndalen’s performance was the equivalent of Michael Jordan getting benched in the final two minutes of a playoff game. Not only does it not happen, it’s hard to even imagine it happening.
In 11 events over three Olympics, Bjorndalen finished lower than fifth only once — he was 12th in this same event in Turin. His three penalties from the prone position matched the most of all 87 competitors and his four total penalties tied for second-most.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
Yup, the snowfall made it pretty irregular. Björndalen has had mental lapses and bad luck before, it’s not completely unheard of though he is on track to become the best winter athlete of all time in any sport. If he competes until he is 40 at a top level like one of his current teammates, he will have all kinds of records.
There have been worse races, e.g. a world championship in Oslo with races that got stopped when fog moved in and the athletes couldn’t see the targets anymore shooting blind and just running as many penalty laps as they were told.
this is making me laugh..
brutal...
but we deserved to lose.. too many close games lately.. i wonder if we slip into a 2 seed if we can get out of the south region.. i’d rather be a 2 in the north or west than a 1 in the south (with texas looking like a 4seed in the south)

I like Wall as a prospect, and he’s awesome, but I wonder if the hype around his athleticism has transcended his actual ability.
He needs to be in better control on the floor. From the limited times I’ve seen him, he doesn’t appear to move around the court that efficiently… he makes a lot of mistakes, and that is a little worrisome in college.

If we repeat that in the team competition, the US has gold
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
The team event is again similar to the individual event, but contested by teams of four athletes. Each takes 1 jump from the ski jumping large hill, with all jumps counting towards the team total. Sixty points difference equals a one minute advantage in the second event, the 4 × 5 km cross-country relay. This was initially a 3 × 10 km team event, but this was changed to its current format in 1995 following Japan’s four-minute victory in this event at the 1993 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, Sweden and their five-minute victory the following year at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. The reason this was done was to lessen the advantage of the ski jumping part of the competition. Initially, the point difference from the ski jump to the cross country portion of this competition was 1 point equals 3 seconds, but that was changed after the 1993 World championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics to 1 point equals 1.5 seconds to lessen the ski jump advantage. The point-time differential from 2005 to 2008 was 1 point equals 1 second. For the 2009 championships, the point-time differential is 1 point equaling 1.33 seconds.

Hopefully he doesn’t ruin everything. No pressure, guy I don’t know who you are. No pressure.

All these years, and they've never figured out how to film the luge.
I’d love to see them try something new.
I liked the replay they did where they ghosted one luger onto the other’s run for comparison. As far as the actual runs, you’re just watching the splits, really.
#52 #10 #25 #7
the cameras with the ‘ghost’ image of the leader are really cool. if they could incorporate that into real time that would be a major improvement imo.

Watching a ghost-race would indeed be interesting.
Especially if they could work out a camera track on the side, that speeds down course at the same rate of the luge, keeping a real-time perspective.
Unless they crash
Its going to be the German, one of them, too much of a lead.

Nevermind, clearly they do
In that case, they should have a combined medal, and “fastest run” medal. That way, everyone is always fighting for something.

i'm gonna give the all star game 5 minutes before i return to
nba 2k10. all you people were right about this my player mode. it’s awesome.
i'm already addicted.
and i’m not that good. i was with the T-Wolves summer league, but didn’t make their training camp. but i had a lot of choices of what camp to go to. i chose the Cavs (cause i’m a 2 guard). i’m trying to beat out Anthony Parker and Fred Jones to make the team. plus i bought the game used, so i’m having to learn the controls as i go. figuring out the Turbo button after a couple games helped. i gotta learn some dribble moves now.

2-guard was tough because you have impossible defensive matchups.
I hope you chose athletic?
#52 #10 #25 #7
hmmm, athletic is probably the best choice. You just won’t be athletic enough to guard Brandon/Kobe/Wade at first.
It’s not too bad though. I chose scoring for my 2-guard when I started and he did aight.

to the my player users: do you use the left trigger to play defense? just hold it in and your guy ‘locks down’ on defense. it does cost fatigue though.

Watching the announcers trying to pronounce the Russian and Finnish names in women's ice hockey is pretty funny.

Gisele Marvin on the USA Women's Hockey team is from Warroad, Minnesota.
It’s where my mom is from, and it’s an tiny town by the Canadian border, population 1,600. Her family started Marvin Windows, and it’s pretty much the biggest thing there. Bill and Roger Christian started the Christian Brothers Hockey Sticks in Warroad and won a gold medal in 1960. Dave Christian, son of Bill, won gold in 1980. I have a little hockey stick from when I went there and we took a tour of the factory or whatever. It’s signed by two people, but I cannot read their names!
Here is Gisele Marvin’s Wiki page, and you’re welcome for the Olympian Fact of the Day.

We got TV's on CNN and stuff in case there is a natural disater or something major happening
At night it’s just reruns of Larry King and crap like that so they turn it to other stuff at night. They’re just for show, if anything really happened, we’d get all sorts of e-mails and calls from different agencies and the TV would give an emergency response.
We monitor and fix broken stuff, if nothing is broken, then we’re not busy.

Here is a question: When is the last time the Blazers used their mid-level exception, and for whom?
In 2006-07 we were over the cap. In 2007-08 we were over the cap. Storyteller’s site has a remark that the MLE was “used” that year, but I can’t figure out for whom. I don’t think KP has used one in 4 years, if ever.
That might be, his deal would fit. “Signed unrestricted free agent (from Nuggets) to a 3-year, $12M contract”. It makes no sense to have used it for Martell, since we had his Bird rights. And Jones might have been on one but came in a deal.
Wizenheimer on RealGM has a pretty interesting theory that not using the MLE is part of how KP painted himself into a corner, now lacking the contract size typically used to match in most deals.
I don't think it was used on Martell, he was simply re-signed with Bird rights like you said
Same for Travis. JJ33 had one year left on his contract. I think it was Blake.

http://www.beyondthebeat.net/20100215415/2010-articles/february/why-portland-wont-make-a-move.html
"The Mavs deal hurts us," said a person associated with the Portland Trail Blazers, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
"Man, they got better. I’m sure Denver is a little worried about that trade too. Now, Amare’ (Stoudemire) to the Cavs….that would help us."
I’m a little annoyed that people always seem to think a move should be designed just looking at the following post-season. Why? And dealing with uncertainty and lack of perfect information is the job of any manager. That’s why case studies in business school are easier than what the people involved actually had to deal with the situation.

Donnie Nelson, Don Nelson’s son. At that time though it was still Don Nelson Sr. Cuban is very much involved, Nelson basically does a bit of what Larry Miller and KP do for the Blazers combined. Reportedly he is very active and meticulous though, calling up at least as many teams with weird suggestions as KP does. He and his father had hits and misses. They found Josh Howard at the end of the first round, almost passed up Harris for a 7+ foot dude from Russia who wouldn’t stop growing, signed crappy vets and drafted losers, …
As a basketball fan, I’m not sure what would have been cooler. Nash and SSOL, or watching him and Dirk together for their whole careers.

Personally, I think he needed a really long break from Bedge to grow up and that coming back too soon will be detrimental.
He needs more people skills
I really like his basketball mind though. I do not like him being mean to nice people though.

my thing is that, looking at the breadth of AK’s time here, he had changed from breaking every rule in a single comment to being a member of the community. He had rough edges, but he was getting better.
Hopefully he comes back at some point and continues to settle in.

I agree, but some of the main page regulars hurl all kinds of invective in their posts

No problems with that. But I want to see contingency planning done to insure that a) he can be as healthy as possible and b) there is a plan in place to still be competitive if not. “This team is young and we are good enough” is not a good management strategy. The better is the enemy of the good. And I see ostrich-style “hear no evil, see no evil” too often in my job. I think they are listening to other opportunities to and do meticulous scenario planning, yet while KP always claims his personality is risky and the other members of his management team have to hold him back there are examples of either being true. His other mantra is “calm waters”. That can be good, but organizations can also get killed by disruptive innovators that way. There are dozens of examples. Hopefully one day he will go all in and that’s the right move before they ship has sailed and the competitive landscape has changed.
Maybe I should do some strategic analysis some time to show what I mean…
I’m just not sure what we can really do that makes sense, other than get a super 4.

As Roy continues to be good and Batum develops and perhaps Bayless...
We were good enough last year to be a 2nd round team, but we got a tough draw and showed some weakness… having a secondary playmaker in the form of Dre or whoever will help next time I imagine.
Healthy, with a Joel-like guy, we can be a 2nd round team. Oden is what can make us special, and not just good.

If this summer they don’t use the MLE and just re-sign Blake and Travis and then say “now we are close enough to the lux tax” that would be disappointing. On the other hand the unrestricted free agent market is fairly slim. Guys like J O’Neal, Haslem, Lee (who won’t sign anywhere for the MLE) are about as good as it gets. Unless you think Wilcox or Scorpion Neck should be our “banger”.
and they’ll pay him over MLE? Hmmm. I guess, maybe.

Heheheh.
I’m not sure how long that kind of process takes, and besides can they even start it before he’s healed and 100%?
I would assume the difficult thing is finding adequate data and comparisons. What works for a 6’0" guy might not be right for a 7’0" man who is outside any bio-mechanical studies. They could measure things like bone density, blood markers, his complete medical records, etc. But I don’t think there is gene marker that says “hey, you will have great knees”.

I dunno if I ever told this short story
But LMA’s rookie year I met a sports agent who was talking a lot of trash about LMA and said he wouldn’t be as good as Frye and isn’t a starter blah blah, and then I told him he just scored 30 (whatever it was against the Bobcats) and he admitted that he was just upset because LMA didn’t sign with his agency.

the Darius thing was stupid. We should’ve at least gotten the EC back. Stupid Allan Houston created that exception for a different situation than Darius.

by Cablinasian on Feb 15, 2010 12:11 AM PST up reply actions
No, we should have played by the rules and kept him sitting on the bench. Or talked to him to make sure he really would not try to come back.
I didn’t say they broke rules, they didn’t consider the consequences of those rules enough. Tom Penn surely knew under which circumstances Darius’ salary would come back on the Blazers book. And KP & Co. knew like everyone that there would be a run to clear salary for the 2010 free agency class. And that Darius was never in agreement with a medical retirement and wanted to continue to play.
we followed the spirit of the rule, Memphis didn’t.
#52 #10 #25 #7
by Cablinasian on Feb 15, 2010 12:24 AM PST up reply actions
Don’t teams always try to job each other for advantages? To play it safe they could have sent Darius home with pay for a year and asked him to stay away from the team while he rehabs on his own if he was such a distraction. Instead they wanted to have both, the roster spot and the additional cap space. And now, not in 2010 when he would be a valuable expiring deal. Depending on how much you value Andre, that either backfired a bit or a lot.
If you want to have it spelled out: I think Allen was mad at himself for signing Darius to that big deal, and was no longer willing to pay him so much money
That resulted in a major tactical mistake
How did we not play by the rules?
We got jobbed by the rules we obeyed. It was a 2 year process, it wasn’t over a weekend.

If anyone has trivia, go for it.
Sorry SO, I like to leave trivia in the previous night’s JD so it doesn’t clog up the top of a new JD.

Larry Nance was a 3-time NBA All-Star 1985, 1989, and 1993, and the NBA All-Defensive Team First Team member in 1989, and the Second Team Member in 1992 and 1993. He was also consistently one of the league’s better shot blockers, averaging 2.2 blocks per game during his career. Upon his retirement, he held the league record for most blocked shots by any player other than a center.
