Sam Amick of AOL Fanhouse reports that the Portland Trail Blazers will assign rookie forward Luke Babbitt to the team's D-League affiliate, the Idaho Stampede. ------------------------- The Portland Trail Blazers rookie, taken 16th overall by Minnesota out of the University of Nevada-Reno in June is, according to the sources, expected to be in uniform when the Stampede host Dakota on Wednesday night. ------------------------- Babbitt has played just 30 minutes total so far this season, averaging 0.8 points and 0.5 rebounds a game. He hasn't appeared in a game for the Blazers since Nov. 28 and was moved to the inactive list to make way for rehabilitated center Joel Przybilla. Update: Jason Quick of The Oregonian tweets, "Blazers GM Rich Cho says Luke Babbitt will play in six games with Idaho Stampede, starting tonight.
