Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News quotes Johnson on Outlaw (thanks Truehoop):
'With Outlaw we just have to stay on his conditioning, stay on his stretching. Continue to work with him on getting up 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 shots. Shooting, shooting, shooting. Conditioning, conditioning, conditioning. Just constantly staying on top of him with his workouts.'
This is Travis' eighth year in the league. I haven't seen him play much since he left Portland, but Avery's quote seems pretty disappointing. I like Travis and wish him luck, and I'm also glad we moved him. I hope I eat my words, but it's seeming unlikely he'll reach the level that was being being projected when we drafted him. His ceiling looks to me like a microwave off the bench, and likely to fall quickly when his athleticism fades. Nothing wrong with a mediocre NBA career in my book, though.
